So would YOU(personally) play jacquet? The hammy bothers me,but I think it's all hands on deck for this one

He's allegedly healthy so I would play him, especially since we will be playing zone and he's a good tackler. We need fast guys who can tackle in the secondary, and he fits the bill.

Yes, that would be the GM 93 says "makes zero sense" lol

When Howie regained personnel control (after a year in the basement, after Chip was fired), Lurie stepped in and told Howie he needed to hire someone to "assist” with talent evaluation.  That was when Douglas was hired.  Only problem was, Howie still had final say.  I would like to see the same thing happen again but this time the new hire have final say and set the board, run the war room during the draft, etc.

Yeah, Luries call. I have no insider info as to how it works with those 2. At worst if I was Lurie I would say "if you want to keep your present job here, I will require you to get more training for draft prep and evaluation"  If he does that or not, I have no clue.I think that "GM" title was added on when Chip was let go more to appease Howie than anything else(like "sorry I stepped on your toes"). Lurie is more of a figurehead,he will believe what you tell him, but it's HIS money,so he needs to be more involved until he is certain his underlings are doing the jobs and getting them right

Actually to do it right, Lurie needs to train himself(and Howie more). Not so that he can second guess, but so he understands the reasons for the lower decisions being made, and how they arrived at them. When I was on top (or bottom, middle whatever) I always had things to learn and Lurie should do the same. No matter how good you are,you can always improve and I believe if Lurie did this, others would follow suit

This is a pretty good tweet that sums up what the Cardinals like to do on third down, which is run stunts with their outside rushers to the inside, and depend on their inside rushers to get up the field to keep the qb contained.

Michael Kist on Twitter: "This is the type of 3rd down defense from the Cardinals that worries me vs. the Eagles... - Double mug the A gap - Late MOFO > MOFC safety rotation - Press coverage across the board - Low hole LB that can wall crossers & spy - Stunts on both sides https://t.co/uw1yi4WOc4" / Twitter

Our oline has to be able to handle this by picking up the stunts and allowing Hurts to either scramble up the middle, putting him one of one with a LB, or break contain, making it a footrace to the edge. But the Cardinals have a ton of speed on the edge, so the decision by the qb has to be made quickly. Staying out of third and long would be pretty ideal.

Slay is apparently going to play Sunday, though for how long remains a mystery. The good thing is that both he and Hopkins are banged up, so I guess the playing field is level.

The team faces a decision on how to handle the rest of the secondary. Epps seems to be a lock to replace McLeod. NRC seems unable to lose his slot spot. So the question becomes will Mills play corner or safety? The options don't see great no matter how you look at it.

My gut feeling is that Seymour probably did well enough to keep Mills at safety and Wallace on the bench. As scary as it is, his PFF rating is way higher than Maddox's, though it isn't great. But his speed and tackling are probably more important in this game than his coverage ability.

Someone just posted a tweet that Slay won't travel with the team

Did you see eomething different?

Hope they let Jacquet play

Yup, just saw the Eagles tweet. The report I saw was from earlier today.

Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter: "Game Status Update: DB Grayland Arnold, RB Jason Huntley (illness), and CB Darius Slay did not travel with the team and are out for tomorrow’s game. https://t.co/DfYx6zgo7g" / Twitter

So obviously that changes the equation. My guess is that Mills will play corner and Wallace will be the safety. That's kind of a big blow to our secondary.

If he's healthy, I think they will do some mixing and matching tomorrow, especially if someone struggles. Seymour and Wallace won't have long leashes, so we could see Jacquet, or he could start.

Epps, Mills and NRC being on the field in some capacity is the only given right now. After that, who knows.

Like to see Wallace get some snaps in. Even with a loss we could gain something for our future.

Huntley looks like a nice RB prospect. Although he is out tomorrow, I would like to see him take a few snaps on the ST return unit before the season ends

Let's face it. The remaining games should be about getting the young prospects some game time.

Yeah, even if it's late 4th,I hope they don't overlook this. Even Suds deserves a few closing game snaps IMO

With the last win, IDK where we draft. If we had lost and drafted 4th, I am torn between Parsons, Chase and either Surtain or Wade CB. Wade is playing right now lol,but that win could have moved us down. So,not sure at this point I want another win(GAWD I never thought I'd say that)

No Slay, no chance....unless the offense can score 40+. Yeah, not gonna happen.

On the bright side, I have Murray in fantasy lol

With that win we moved from pick 5 to 9.  Then with LA’s win on Thursday that bumped us up to 8.
