Happy Holidays everyone!

Just a quick note on something on Get Up this am. If Wentz really wants to leave, he can cut us a check for 20 mill, we'd still pay 16 but the other team would have to pick it up. Their scenario was that deal plus a 2nd this yr, another 2nd next yr if they make the playoffs.

Just a scenario with the NFL rules.

Enjoy the day, stay safe.

Merry Christmas to all birdbrains

Whatever we need to do to cut out NONSENSE and start playing football like a real team

Don't see a decision until they face off in camp. Even then could see both staying, can only wait and see.

Don't see it. Wentz wants to know he is starting (aka job handed to him except, he's not good enough now). If a nice offer comes down, he is gone. I've had enough of overpaid losers. Looks like we are trying to press Djax into starting again-WHY???? Let the kids play. Once again we are trying to fix what's NOT broken(so we will break that too) Jebus

Some nice Christmas presents in the form of breakdowns on Jacquet and Reagor, two young players who looked really good against the Cardinals (although Hopkins is clearly on another level.)

Jalen Reagor vs Cardinals 2020 - Merry Christmas! - YouTube

Jacquet has some things he can work on obviously, but one nice thing about him is that he has long arms that can jam the receiver at the LOS, which is really effective in zone. Throwing off that timing is important. I am really looking forward to seeing him against the Cowboys.

Reagor is clearly making some huge strides from where he was a few games ago. One nice thing about this year is that you see players like Singleton, Reagor, Herbig and Mailata getting better as the season goes along.

There's also this interesting note.

Brandon Lee Gowton on Twitter: "Doug Pederson says DeSean Jackson is "getting close” to returning. He was able to take some snaps with the offense on Wednesday. "We’ll try to ramp him up today and keep him coming.” #Eagles" / Twitter

Just for one series give me DJax, Watkins and Reagor on the field together.

I don't know what Wentz wants, only what people have said he wants.

Crap - thawed out the downstairs fridge last week, now it's running great again. Only prob is it froze the roast I was going to make! Looks like Christmas dinner's tomorrow.

Soak it in warm water a bit, then nuke it a bit(if it fits)

IDK, I would assume, as a 5 year in "pro" at the supposed start of the peak of his career he would want to start? But you're right it's only my assumption. He could sit out a long time and make us keep paying him even if it's just his guarantees, ride pine, kick back in his La-z-boy and keep his body fresh for his next team

IDK, football on Christmas day should be outlawed

He does that and there may not BE another team. A RB or receiver might get by with taking a year off, I'm not sure about someone who's supposed to be the face of the team.

Final injury report is out.

My guess is that DJax gets activated as we have an empty roster spot and Smith and Countess get called up from the practice squad. If any of the questionable guys can't play, that leaves us a bit thin for special teams, although I guess Elliot can keep punting. I am somewhat surprised that JJAW doesn't play special teams as he has the size and grit to do so. But he is deep in the doghouse so I guess he will keep being inactive.

Happy Holidays my fellow Fanatics ...May you and yours continue to receive his blessings, and keep y'all safe. Merry Christmas.

I have been thoroughly dissatisfied with Carson lack of production all season. I want to seeTHAT attitude from Carson ...Show me Competitiveness... Fight all comers to lead my  Birds. I don't see him as " the milk for money ." Type of player. I hope he still wants to play here,  still hope we can find  the player we gave up so much for, Just compete Carson may the best man win.

Losing is the face of "his" team right now. It's not a year off, it's he starts or he is gone. I guess we will find out in camp, the the question is, what do you do with Hurts who can win games?  Something has to give

That's what I mean, what if Hurts is the best man? That's an awfully expensive BU

If Hurts is the starter then Carson isn't going to be here. If they make the decision that hurts is their man then they'll trade Wentz because they'll be truly starting their rebuild.

If Wentz wants to start here, or anywhere else for that matter, he needs to hire a QB coach with a history of success and work his ass off all off season.

He's gonna be awfully expensive if they cut or trade him too.

Duke Riley is out, which means they will probably need to IR someone, most likely Sweat. My guess is that Countess will be added to the roster and a LB called up for special teams.

Barnett and Cox being questionable isn't great, as we are somewhat light on the dline. But it hopefully will mean more snaps for guys like Avery and Williams, to see if they can contribute. I think Avery can be productive, he just needs snaps to show what he can do.

Exactly!  Been saying the same for more than a year now when his overall level of play seemed to be on a downward trajectory.  Sure he has had really good stretches like the 4 games to end the 2019 season but he has been inconsistent.  His best play came in his rookie year when he had 2 former QBs that are now seasoned NFL coaches in his ear all the time (Reich and Flip).

Thats the point I was making to eglz1 who said both will battle it out in camp. I don't see it, if the op to trade comes along

yeah I mean, his performance this year would not warrant a team trading for him. They could go by his "body of work" maybe. Then again that could be a tough sell if you either HAVE, or are PLANNING to have a new QB in the next 3 years. Just off the top of my head,if I am planning to get a new QB in the next 3, I would be looking ahead at rooks that would be available, not a guy I have to pay a zillion $ to. I think we shagged ourselves lol. Like I said ,Wentz should have been benched week 4,and we should have hired a QB coach to come in and work with him intensely. Maybe later he could have retaken the job,but as it stands now, we just let him play like crap-,and HE did not take it upon HIMSELF to get help from anyone. If you are in a slump, you do whatever you need to do to get out of it. Get more coaches, go visit mommie, go smash some vases, suck your thumb, whatever it takes and he did not. Just like in life, before you can get help, you have to admit there is a problem. Although we hear "oh it's a O line" problem, and while they are not all stellar,we saw a rook walk in and defeat a SB contender and also play well against the sold team in AZ,so obviously that was not the only issue.

SO, we have 1) Howie screwed us with the HUGE Wentz contract 2) Howie was a genius for drafting Hurts. Catch 22 . As far as a trade,I think you can eliminate most teams. What you need to look at are teams that are doing ok that won't have a shot at a QB for a year or 2 in the draft (like maybe the Colts or Bears)

Roster moves are out. Seymour and Sweat to IR, Barnett is out, Jackson, McGill and Wilson to the roster, Howard and Ostman the callups.

We are going light at LB and heavy at DT, which means Cox may be iffy. Losing Sweat and Barnett is not ideal. Avery will likely get a lot of snaps. So he has a chance to show what he can do.

I don't get elevating Howard, but if he looks good in practice he could be a solid #2.
