Happy New Year to everyone here. Good riddance to 2020. Eagles sucked. Pandemic sucked. Life has been challenging.

I think this sums it all up pretty nicely.

Pretty good Peach bowl to this point. Clemson/ OSU should be a great game also. I think ND is over rated and Bama won;t have a problem with them

We made some roster moves.

Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter: "Roster Moves: #Eagles have signed TE Jason Croom and LB Rashad Smith from the practice squad to the active roster. Eagles have placed LB Shaun Bradley and LB Duke Riley on Reserve/Injured. https://t.co/Xo3Qw0tH8E" / Twitter

I would expect a few more moves since we really can't field a team right now. We only have 19 healthy players on defense. I expect Taylor to get activated, so that leaves us three guys short of the 23 we usually have active on game day. My guess is that Ostman will be added, as that would give us 8 healthy dlinemen. Then we will add two DBs, likely Countess and possibly Houston.

On offense, my guess is that Tega gets added. I would expect all 8 olinemen will play as this will likely resemble a preseason game. I don't think it matters much who we put at tackle, but it would be nice to see Tega get some reps. He has a bad leg, so teams avoided him in the draft. But he was considered to have second round talent. If he comes in and plays okay, you have to wonder why we put in Pryor out there ahead of him. The more I watch this team, the more I think that the coaches really struggle to figure out who is good and who is bad from watching practices. They had no idea that Singleton and Mailata were going to vastly outplay Gerry and Peters, and I wonder who else is on the roster/PS who might be better than the guys in front of them.

I guess we will get some idea Sunday, since there will be a lot of new faces out there.

Hate seeing Fields down for OSU.

Proving there are no old running QB's

Targeting- not much any player of any age can do with that. I'm enjoying watching us beat up on Clemson lol, but now I have to find another round 2 WR because this should move Olave into round 1.  I think he is every bit as good as Chase

I think Fields performance will give Jax pause as to who to take. Besides Olave probably moving up enough so that we cannot get him, I could see Borland move up as well as Sermon(this kids runs HARD!!!)

I don't know about that. I think Lawrence is the outright favourite. I don't necessarily agree with that but I think he is.

Oline has suffered many injuries. Let’s not forget the DB situation either. We keep having endless DB injuries to contend with.

Year after year though... I just hope they find the answer to this because its happening every year.

Our poor drafting has made us rely more on vets, who are more likely to get hurt.

The team should be markedly younger, and healthier, next year, as we don't have the cap space to sign anyone who will immediately go to IR shortly after the signing bonus check clears.

Thing is... I mean you are absolutely right that our poor drafting has, in part, led us to this situation. But the injuries have been an issue the last 4 years (including 2017). Players who didn't have injury issues before they came to Philly then started getting hurt. There's a real issue that needs to be identified and resolved.

Yesterday was only his second career loss, but he was outplayed by Fields, and it was a revenge game so IDK what Jax will do now. Either one will be an improvement for both Jax and the Jets. On my mock I had Olave in round 2. I think he did enough to get into lower round 1, so now I need to find another round 2 WR.OSU D line got to him,so now we know who to beat him. Sam as Wentz here. We gotta be a sold O line in there. Why my mock included a C,because we better think about Kelce retiring. IDK what happens with Trey Sermon, most have him ranked pretty LOW. but this kids a baller and he a BRUTAL runner. Love to add him to the RBBC squad. Nice to see those top teams go at it. I would just draft the whole Alabama team, coaches crew and all. Thats the only pick I would need lol. So back to work on my mock and scouting other WR's. If Olave stays in round 2 it would be a miracle. I suppose it's still possible with all the "hype" guys going early, but I would be more than pleased too add him at 37. Wade was targeted often and lost a few of those battles. Both were super accurate QB's(refreshing to see). I think Wade also helped his draft stock. Wade was beatne mostly by perfectly thrown balls that NOONE could defend. SO in a week or so,we should be the boards realign.I m pretty set in stone on the mock positions I set,so I suspect that won;t change, but may find better players as this moves on. I would now have to consider adding Sermon.have to wait and see where he lands in the realign. I have 1 in round 5,but I don;t see Sermon being around that late

IDK does the turf need re-done at the Linc. Why do we have these issues EVERY year

You know there were "renovations" at the Linc. if I recall that was before the SB win and maybe it's coincidence, but thats when the annual injuries began. At least the unusual numbers of them. Was the turf re-done then? I know there were upgrades to the building itself, but noone said if the field was replaced then. Does anyone know?

https://www.nfl.com/news/jim-schwartz-contemplating-retirement-won-t-return-to-eagles-in-2021

Depending who we get, could be a good change. A few things I'd look for - a great talent evaluator/observer who can adjust their scheme to players' strengths and make immediate, in game adjustments

Schwartz retiring is pretty surprising, but I think it is the best thing for the team. I think they were ready to move on from him anyway, as there seemed to be a disconnect between the defensive side of the ball and the rest of the team.

As long as Schwartz was there, it seemed like Doug was the head coach of the offense, and Schwartz ran the defense, which wasn't ideal in my mind. I would rather have Doug be able to hire an offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator, and give him 100 percent control of the coaching staff.

You guys have anyone in mind? I would like Tyrell Austin from the Squeelers. Good with DB's and LB's which we sorely need( he is the secondary coach there). I also made a mock change and have changed my mind on Farley and would rather have Surtain. Adding him along with Slay and Austin as the new DC I think would be a great start. While Farley is a bit faster, he also comes with injury history, and while it appears he will be fine,Surtain has played vs better opponents which "should" translate into being more NFL ready. I can't wait on my first pick CB to produce and Surtain could start immediately

I have a C in my mock. IDK what Kelce's plans are. If he stays again, then my pick in round 5 would change from Morrissey to Greg Newsome(another CB from Northwestern)

Just read that Schwartz is going to let his contract expire and take a year off of football... Not sure if this is 100% true but could mean we need to find a new DC next year

Seen an interesting name on a list of possible replacements in Demeco Ryan’s who is apparently the ILb coach for SF. Not sure I’d offer him the job since he only has two years of coaching under his belt but at the same time SF D is legit and he is part of it.

I think this is the classy way to move on from Schwartz. Our SB winning DC!

As far as Pedey: He didn’t takeover as Head Coach commanding, or demanding, all the power. He didn’t have that kind of track record or history of experience. But yes, I agree that now he needs to be in control of the coaching hires.

Also to add think the Eagles could go either directions in terms of D style 43 or 34.

A 3 man front of Malik, Hargrove, Cox in a 34 isn’t bad. Think Graham would be alright again as an OLB not the best bit serviceable... Sweat could shine honestly freak athlete.

43 of course the DL essentially the same.
