I’ve always thought it took two...,really three years to make the major switch on defensive philosophy.

Think it all depends on the players and coaches you have in place. I mean in terms of going to a 34 Cox/Malik/Hargrove all played in that scheme before believe so did Ridgeway with the Colts.
Graham was also here part of the 34 days

Seen plenty of team adopt a new scheme quickly because of A. The players and B. The coach whether it was a team like LA who went from 43 under Fisher to 34 under Wade and had a top unit or even looking at the skins this year 34 to a 43 they had a solid unit

Gus Bradley should be in consideration also. Coached Malik already. Weirdly was DC at North Dakota St. after playing there as a S and P

Assume Vinny is done here. Hope he has a big game to cap things off.

Maddox? I like him at FS. But he was a Schwartz fave....not sure he stays on.

Ridgeway is dependent on system completely. He’s out in most 3-4. If we go with Bradley or Richard he’d be a fit.

Why wouldn’t you get the kid more experience? Don’t think starting Wentz was much of an option for this last contest.

So maybe Wentz gets his mojo back? We are paying MILLIONS for a pine rider

One game in a lost season isn't doing a thing for him

Start Suds or something. It's not like we have something to lose lol(although I hope we DO lose

I mean OLB in a 34 is essentially your DEs in a 43... They get asked to drop in coverage little more but still the primary pass rushers.

If your going to make the change this is a great year to do so. As stated we have a NT and Cox/Malik would make a great pair of DEs in the 34 scheme

OLB is the main area as you stated we would need to address but we love drafting pass rushers high so don’t see the problem there. Is there a guy worth that in the top 10???? Not sure I also think sweat could thrive as an OLB and Graham not ideal but would alright.

ILB- think Singleton/Edwards would be better suited as well or even still draft Parsons.

Point being think we have enough pieces that we can make the change without a drastic overhaul being needed on the D side I personally prefer the 43 but don’t think Doug and co. Have to be limited to just 43 DCs

Also the guy you want Austin coaches on a team that runs a 34 D not against the guy at all but odds are if he he was hired he would want to switch to the 34 what he is used to.

Though guess in today’s nfl the base D is only used what 35-40% maybe of snaps mostly in sub-packages

IDK I would rather keep the 43 base. If we want to change up and only rush 3 and drop a guy into coverage we can. We need p[layers in either case-

It does a ton for Hurts playing time any kind aids him in this stage of his career.

IDK I would like to hear "we are moving on from Wentz" and I haven't heard that yet. Suds never plays,so how can he ever become a #2 if he never plays?

With Schwartz out: Gerry lost a job. Mills most likely out as well. Burke Dline coach a big question mark. led the league in sacks. So his unit performed outstanding for the most part. Flajole has been a top notch LB coach. Really brought the most out of not much. Manuel just got here for the secondary. Really no idea how this shakes out for him. Do think he’s respected though. S coach, Tim Hauck, should be fairly safe. But you just really never know if a new coordinator is brought in.

I want Austin from the Squeelers for DC

Pedey came out and spoke about the importance of one voice in the QB room. So much to read into that. I think he’s letting the coaches and QBs know without question who is in charge. Some egos might have been needing checking. If Pedey does remain in charge....and even gains some more control....could be pretty huge towards guys like Press or Wentz. More gratitude towards still having a job here pointed towards the HC.

Can’t play with fear of injuries... Hurts needs ton of work and getting reps is the best thing for him.

It's the last game of the year, it's like a non game. He can't put what he learns tomorrow to use the following week,so that is a WASH. He can takes his reps in practice. I think this is a slap in Wentz's face, so I imagine we will try to trade him now

I wanted their DC Butler for HC in 2016.

LOL well so far you've gotten rid of 1/2 our DB's. We have to keep SOMEONE because we can't draft 5

I think Austin was DC before, but took this job to maybe put himself in line for another shot. I'd like to give him that shot. At this point it can;'t get any worse

IDK, if we can't get a pass rush with 4 how we gonna do it with three? We don;t have the players to make this change IMO

At the end of the day I want to make sure there's one voice, and that's my voice, that's heard offensively and nobody else's," Pederson stated. "That's the part that I've got to get across to the staff, and I have done that. I want to make sure that there's one voice talking to the quarterbacks, whoever is in this room. Press has been in that room, Andrew Breiner has been in that room. "They're speaking the same language, we're all on the same page.

NC playing pretty well here

Yeah...we got problems there. Slay and McLeod were our best options. McLeod won’t be ready to start next season. Craig James was injured all year. He’s in the mix Id say. NRC...not wasting anymore time with him. Gone! LeBlanc? No idea. Epps? Probably not. Wallace obviously is given a chance going forward. So yes, it’s clean house in the secondary time.

Hope Jacguet can grow and we need to take one in round 1 in my view. We've ignored CB for years. Now it's time(LB also)

I like Newsome from Northwestern aa LATE CB if we decide to take 2 probably a round 5 guy

IDK I have a C in this next draft. Kelce has been retiring since 2017 and the guy we have rostered is a UDFA and if we want to build/maintain this O line we'd better grab a viable C

Pedey’s interview says it’s his offense. So in that light....it’s makes it a real high end DC job opening. I think that’s the arrangement that works for Pedey. It’s not getting involved with the defense.

TBH he is awful at play calling(still). His clock management  skills are awful. His 4th down"go for it" decisions when you have no team are terrible. I can't give him any more "he's a rook" passes. he is still making the same mistakes and his IN GAME adjustments are non exisitent. We need a D because we have no O
