I don’t think he’s a superstar. Lamb kind of maximizes what he has.” Jumps were pedestrian: vertical (34 ½ inches, 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump). So was the bench press (11 reps). "They scheme him up a lot,” said a fourth scout. "Bubble passes. He comes flying around in motion and catches it. It’s like watching the CFL. If you think you’re just going to line him up as a classic X or Z and he’s going to run a full route tree, no. He’s a work in progress, too.” Scored 12 on the 12-minute, 50-question Wonderlic intelligence test. "He’s wildly overrated,” said a fifth scout. "I don’t see an overwhelming trait. A lot of people point to his run after the catch, but I think you have to evaluate the guys trying to tackle him. He’s playing against some really bad Big 12 defenses. You’re just not going up against NFL people in that league. I’m just not a big believer in his skill set transitioning.”

BG... this is the obvious "elephant in the room"     you say " draft for college production."     Which drafts seemed to have that influence ?   say 2017 to 2019?    Which guy that works for a team in NY seems to have had that influence????      Yet ... it's all Howie's fault and the guy in NY is a genius?  We notice a change when that guy leaves for NY ... yet he has zero blame for his influence.... " Howie made the final call"  etc.      IDK... we shall see.

I still say Jerry is the true genius for winning the draft each year... it shows in the record.

Imagine you are a fan of the other teams..... you get all the players you want... yet this team from Philly always ends up going farther than you????     What is the thing that matters for fans?

Winning games or constructing rosters?     I'd rather win games ... but hey.... imagine being a fan of Dallas.... must be awesome watching the hype train every year with all these great young players ..... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7  ....etc. since 1996 those 2 playoff wins are stuff of legend!     But hey... they win in late April all the time.

LOL Joe we have had few draft picks the last few times. This was a chance to get some top players at positions of need.MS2-WOW what a great pick he was. jjaw=no show.Dillard-there seems to be some question marks and ,you know, he is just the guy set to protecting your franchise. And BTW Coop burned us plenty last year. And he wasn't alone in doing it.Our offense was basically ERTZ and Sanders, with a sprinkle of Scott tossed in,and while noone can forsee injury,we failed to have adequate BU's at WR in the event that happened. Noone knew who Gallup was until he lit up our secondary(yeah no need to address that again.not just vs Dullaz but everyone).Vander-Esch seems to be working out pretty well, but we dont draft LB's either.I don't want to be equal to Dullaz,I want to be BETTER.Failed to move up in the draft for a better WR draftee(or as you say PERCEIVED to be better),really a BAD reach with the 3 pick(say what you want).translation.Not only do we have issues developing draftees at certain spots, but we need the talent to start with.I really could care less what happened 2 years ago,we are still making the same errors. The addition of Slay should help some, but once again there is no pipeline, where we can have success at other positions year after year.We are good with TE's and RB's,but our WR's,CB's and LB's could have been upgraded time and time again and we fail to do it.Someone had to draft Slay and develop him,why can't WE do it?SO,we got ONE WR.And if 2 go down we are back to PS type players because we failed to address the need.yeah we have a TON of wanna bes in here with 1 quality draft pick.We took Hurts because Dilllard may not be able to protect Wentz. If we had doubts,we should have moved up for an OT.I don't want to be 9-7 every year I want to be 12-4.We won games we shouldn't have(GB) and lost ones that were,or should have been, easy wins(Miami). So although no draft pick is a guarantee, normally the higher the pick the better success rate you have.At this point I am assuming Reagor has to start.we have no replacement for Alshon, unless Ward is your man.maybe he can do it again. If regor can't cut it and someone else goes down,it will be another long season

Joe, We are not comparing Jerry's FA acquisitions, strictly the draft choices. HR has done a wonder in FA and CAP. That is his strength. However, the draft results have not been as such. We have done poorly, especially in the first 3 rounds the past few years. Can you honestly say we have done better than Dallas? forget the record and all other moves. Just look at the drafts.

This is a long paragraph ... with my rebuttal...  very simple.... what is the goal?   We win more than the team that wins every draft... why is that?    It's a different view for each fan,

for me... I spend zero time scouting college players... no time watching preseason...etc.  My focus is on how the teams plays come Sept to January.. hopefully February.   I like free agency to see how they address the team needs in the now.     That lasts for a few days when we get all the initial news.  Am I concerned that we wion the FA week or the draft?  Like with " initial"  thoughts?    not really.   I'm concerned how it all translates in the field come fall.       The rest is just white noise.    Jerry and Dallas dominate with news off the field.  They win every draft, do all the right marketing things ...etc.   They make the news... they are America's drafters.   That's great.       I like our results come fall.

Stine.. I'm comparing overall.  which is what matters.   Congrats to Jerry for winning another late April weekend.   It's done so much for him the last 24 years!

PS.I hope Goodwin works out,but who really knows???

I hope the Eagles win a lot of games... not really just worried about Goodwin.

Goal -wins games.if you want to be a .500 club,then draft .500 talent. That whats we do.With FEW past picks, this was our year to shine,to set up young guys as our future and we didn't do it.We got a round 1 talent QB and refuse to give him the weapons he needs. And he puts himself at risk trying to make the plays himself due to lack of talent.Dullaz and Eagles games are like OSU/Michigan, Army/Navy,Purdue/Notre Dame.Throw records out the window for those games.Don't want to vie for the division with Dullaz every year.I want to have that in my hand by week 14

That is the hope every year HAHAAA

SOOOO,although it remains to be seen if Dullaz "won April" it is my opinion that 1,2-3 years from now, those players will come back to haunt us.Time will tell

What are the draft picks for both teams last 3 years(not counting this past draft we have no clue how these players will play out on paper Dallas won but rarely does that stay the case)

2016

Dak/Zeke/Jaylen Smith- rest of the draft was meh for them

Wentz/Semaulo/Big V/Mills- would count all these guys are hits in that draft.

Eagles didn’t have the draft capital of Dallas because of the move up for Wentz still thought we found some decent talent value later...Dallas probably got the better top end talent

2017

Barnett > Taco

Jones < Awuzie

Douglas = Lewis

Hollins = Switzer (Switzer is probably the better player but Dallas didn’t keep him so call that a push)

Gerry < Xavier Woods(Maybe woods is slightly ahead but it’s close)

Some other picks for both sides but don’t see any of them as worth bringing up

2018

really Dallas had 2 good picks Vander and Gallup.... Geodart/Maddox/Sweat all seem to be coming along.

think these drafts have a decent case to really judge the players and not sure if give either team much of an edge drafting wise

2019

did any player from Dallas rookie class even make an impact minus Pollard????

Eagles had Sanders for sure if we count the traded 7th for Ridgeway who was playing well before injury would give the edge as of now to philly in that draft. But way to early to really judge in my opinion

You know I’m all for this. Great compliment to Sanders. Man our backfield would be blockbuster!

Anyone remember these guys? lol. And they had those insane pads

Thats has been my complaint.Been posting since time began that we draft great LATE and UDFA guys, but miss on the "big 3". Wentz and Sanders are the exceptions.Jury is out on Reagor and Dillard of course

Yes and we dont know yet lol

Sure the others might be a avg. but again Wentz in round 1... next pick was Semalo in the 3rd then Big V in round 5 and Mills round 7...

Semaulo is good enough to stay for teams at G... Hell teams thought Big V was also was a sought after FA at T(he was one of the better backup Ts here) and Mills for a 7th rounder think he way out played his stock

If we don’t know yet on Barnett then we have a problem dude is in his 5th year lol

Who Semaulo???? Isn’t that a good thing for an OL usually only time you hear a OL name is for a mistake during games

So we draft a top QB,Dullaz takes a less talented one,BUT they surround him with weapons and we have not done that for Wentz and we continue NOT to do it

LOL true.

I mean Zach Ertz, Dallas Geodart, Miles(2nd)Sanders, Boston Scott.... Reagor(1) JJaw(2nd), Got Djax, and spent to get Alshon....We have invested in guys for Wentz they just got to step up and show why we invested in them.

I broke it up into guys that have produced for Wentz and guys that need to prove something.

I never hear"OH Barnett has had a helluva game".You are nitpicking here.Of course we have some good players

Still waiting for those "step it up " guys to show. It's been a few years now?

I have heard few different times of them praising Barnett’s game.... He so far has been on the Graham realm though doesn’t get the flashy stats(sacks) that the media love but plays a good all around game.
