My point really showing the picks is that we really have not been terrible at drafting under Howie 2nd stint as so many seem to make it out to be

I have heard few different times of them praising Barnett’s game.... He so far has been on the Graham realm though doesn’t get the flashy stats(sacks) that the media love but plays a good all around game.

He is solid.I'm talking about "exceptional" IMO he is not exceptional.Thats fine,I love SOLID

Sorry Howie can't pick WR's to save his arse.Thats why we have to keep hitting FA and we didnt even do THAT this year(I mean if you want to count Goodwin you can but...)

2nd rounder on Jmatt

3rd on Huff technically(but think everyone knows Chip wanted him)

Imagine you are a fan of the other teams..... you get all the players you want... yet this team from Philly always ends up going farther than you????     What is the thing that matters for fans?

Winning games or constructing rosters?     I'd rather win games ... but hey.... imagine being a fan of Dallas.... must be awesome watching the hype train every year with all these great young players ..... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7 ... 9-7  ....etc. since 1996 those 2 playoff wins are stuff of legend!     But hey... they win in late April all the time.

We are the 9-7 and 9-7 team two years in a row

24 seasons from 1996 to 2019

Dallas  =

Wins = 202
Playoff appearances = 10
playoff wins =  4
NFC title game appearances = 0
Superbowl appearances = 0
Superbowl wins     =    0

Eagles  =

Wins = 212         .............................................  10 more
Playoff appearances = 14  ...........................   4 more
playoff wins = 14   ........................................ 10 more
NFC title game appearances = 6 .................  6 more
Superbowl appearances  = 2  ......................  2 more
Superbowl wins =          1  ...............................1 more

But Dallas wins in April ... congrats!

They lost an all pro C.... replaced him with a 4th round pick   ... they are better
They lost the top CB in FA  ... they replaced him with a 2nd round pick  ... they are better
They lost a good experienced slot WR .... they replaced him with a rookie without standout speed or size .... they got better
They got a $7 mil backup QB ... when their QB never missed a game in 4 years .... they got better.

This might explain the logic as to why come the fall, things don't seem to workout for them?

Eagles ...

had a weakness for speed , especially at the WR spot ...................................not addressed
injuries at DT  hurt the pass rush and forced them to scheme vs the run..... not addressed
Had a need for a good CB to counter top WRs ............................................... not addressed

This might explain the logic as to why come fall, things end up working out a little better?      But according to " draftguideusa.com"  Dallas won the draft.   LOL   Howie needs to learn from Jerry and this long string of success!

Dallas lost Byron Jones but receive the third round comp pick for him. Actually loaded up with one comp pick from each round as the team expected to receive the most compensatory compensation. Most all you talked about with us last offseason. They lost Cobb that you identified as overpaid. Got the top WR in the draft. Without trading up mind you. The Andy Dalton part shows your agenda. He gets three million. Just a bit more for a starting QB(experience wise at the least)than we paid Suds ...the forever third stringer.

Eagles: we had a weakness for missing speed. We addressed it with older Wallace. Got hurt. Did nothing. The next season we trade for the older DJax. Got hurt did nothing. Then addressed it three years after the fact.

Eagles: addressed the need at DT with an older Malik. Got hurt. Did nothing. Now banking industry year two with him. But spent big bucks on The Gravedigger. So tried to cover up the mistake a year later.
Eagles: had a need for good corners. Made mistake after mistake. Draft, Free Agency....even in keeping Darby after trading for him and him hitting FA. Been going on for years. Had a chance to address it by trade for Slay last year. Could of been a huge difference maker. Got cheap and saved a nickel by trading for him this year instead. Loaded up on slot guys otherwise.

The logic in success between us and the Cowboys is coaching. Pedey is much better than Coach Clap.  You are pointing towards all this GM crap. But Jerry has been the better GM recently. They trade for Amari and all you do is pine after him. We lost out on him for being cheap. Got Tate instead. Woohoo! Draft Jerry has been out picking Rosie. They have more cap room and flexibility also. We aren’t out GMing them. We are out coaching and culturing them. Big difference than the point you be appearing to make.

Reading the article questioning Howies draft picks how do we fault the guy for drafting the more success and productive college player in JJaw over Metcalf yet when he does the opposite in this draft take the better athlete in Reagor we say he should have drafted the production of Jefferson WHAT!!!!!!

It’s all about pushing an agenda. But it already looks obvious that Metcalf should have been the call over JJAW. Heck most I know thought it already was before that draft.
Also Reagor has more production in college than Jefferson. Just the facts.

BG... this is the obvious "elephant in the room"     you say " draft for college production."     Which drafts seemed to have that influence ?   say 2017 to 2019?    Which guy that works for a team in NY seems to have had that influence????      Yet ... it's all Howie's fault and the guy in NY is a genius?  We notice a change when that guy leaves for NY ... yet he has zero blame for his influence.... " Howie made the final call"  etc.      IDK... we shall see.

I still say Jerry is the true genius for winning the draft each year... it shows in the record.

Douglas didn’t get the fall here. Pretty much just Head Scout. Sounds like it’s the same in NY if you listen to Gase talk about the draft.

Coaching is the obvious difference. Sticking with Coach Clap and Jerry’s ego are his fatal flaws. He’d rather have Garrett than a Jimmie Johnson.

Joe, We are not comparing Jerry's FA acquisitions, strictly the draft choices. HR has done a wonder in FA and CAP. That is his strength. However, the draft results have not been as such. We have done poorly, especially in the first 3 rounds the past few years. Can you honestly say we have done better than Dallas? forget the record and all other moves. Just look at the drafts.

Who has Rosie brought in through Free Agency the last two years? The Gravedigger is pretty much it.

You mean final year. Singular. Reagor outproduced Jefferson as a Freshman and as a Sophomore. Junior year Jefferson had more production with his move to the slot.

Mike Gill,   Cornerback Trumaine Johnson, signed to a five-year, $72.5 million contract prior to the 2018 season with the Jets, making him one of the league's highest-paid corners. Now he's a free agent. So does Johnson, a press-man corner, make sense for the Eagles? "He could make sense for Philly," 973espn.com Eagles insider John McMullen said on The Sports Bash. McMullen explained how at one time Johnson was Byron Jones, the best corner on the free agent market, but didn't live up to the price tag that comes with that moniker. Johnson was given the franchise tag twice while he was with the Rams, who then let him walk after the 2017 season because they thought he was good enough to franchise but not good enough to be considered a great cornerback during his time in LA. When Johnson went to the Jets, he entered a scheme that didn't fit his skill-set, and suffered some injuries. The Jets tried to help by bringing in Gregg Williams, who coached Johnson with the Rams, but the results were still underwhelming due to Johnson not being healthy. If you get him for one-year, and seven million dollars, that's a great deal," McMullen explained. "I'd roll the dice on that all day long."

I guess he is still available. 30 years old but the Eagles went for Byron Jones and he will be 28 right after the season starts.

JMatt,ok.Then we lose him.Huff,I don;t need to say a word on that.Jjaw-no show. While I don't expect outrageous stats year 1 from a 2,a nice contribution would suffice-NOT.Reagor,we don't know about.Ran a 4.2 once, ran a 4.4 at the combine, which is sufficient, but not special, which tells me he can't reproduce his speed on demand.it's what kind of "mood" he is in(aka inconsistent). Now maybe he had an off day.it happens, but it's concerning until I see him do it consistently. So IMO if Howie can't draft WR's,he needs "help" when those picks come.At least in his defense he got the round right lol

He got ONE,then took a QB in 2 when we still needed another WR,thus the once AGAIN bargain basement Goodwin acqusition. I like Hightower,he was fine for me as WR 3,but we never took the second one lol.Welcome to our little clan

Ummmmm what or he just ran a bad 40 at the combine lol not every player is good at running a 40 yard dash.... Game speed is what matter most and watching his tape you don’t have any doubts on the mans speed

yeah I said I would include that also.I left him out because I already said "we were good with TE's" so I assumed that you'd give me a pass, but I should know better by now

I do,he is playing vs others who are slower than the top guys,so he would look faster.I will wait and see what happens.

Soooo basically Howie is being judge that he can’t draft WRs because Jmatt was good here then we got rid of him and Huff was a bust(though Chipper clearly wanted him)

JJaw bad first year needs to show something but no clue if he was a bad pick or not yet.

I can’t say in good faith Howie can’t draft WRs because I don’t know yet he not good at finding guys late at WR but really would be interested in seeing how many day 3 picks at WR actually pan out for every AB how many are busts...
