Going QB in the draft boils down really to two questions.

1. What’s the plan with Wentz are we going to trade him or not

2. How does the team Feel about Hurts do they think he is the QB.

If Wentz is all but out the door and your not confident in Hurts QB at #6(or even more up for one) is a real possibility

Nope.  If the board shook out like that 1-5 I'm taking Sewell.  Second choice would be Surtain.  Or trade down a few spots to a team wanting Fields to get an extra 2nd or 3rd.

Sewell is not on this list lol

I'm taking Fields in that scenario. If he's there I definitely pull that trigger.

I had the Smith/Mac Jones scenario. I would also be happy with the Fields/Olave scenario. Both of those have an O line lol We saw Lawrence struggle when he was pressured by OSU D line. In either combo scenario you have "instant chemistry" between your QB and WR

Wasn't the question if the board shakes out like that 1-5 (1 Lawrence, 2 WIlson, 3 Smith, 4 Parsons, 5 Chase) do we agree that we'd take Fields at 6?

Why would you take Sewell?. Who are you getting rid of? I would look at other positions we need before another LOT

How do you feel about drafting a guy that ascended playing this season vs. a top draft prospect that sat out the season?

I would pull that trigger and then take Olave in round 2 for that instant chemistry. It takes a little time for that to develop, so by doing that you have already sped up that process. Reagor is young he will adjust to all this. Although I would love to have Smith(my boy),in the above scenario he is gone,so the Fields/Olave combo works for me

This is really difficult here. I suppose with the players who sat out you'd have to look at the prior year and do a VERY close inspection at the combine

For me it does not change anything. If we got Fields and already have Hurts, basically you are spending Wentz's pay for 3 QB's who can play(bye Suds). Of course you try to lose Wentz, but if push came to shove I DONT CARE- ride pine whiner!!! Or MAN UP and try and win your job back. I'm spending the same amount no matter. Even if Wentz's mommy calls in again

Fields being there would be the dream scenario. You either take yourFranchise QB or should be able to trade accepting the windfall. I’m liking getting the extra picks. Really have felt this team needed a youthful infusion.

Dillard.  I don't have anything other than gut feeling to base this on, but I have zero confidence in him becoming a solid NFL player at such a critical position.

Anyway, unlikely Sewell is there anyway so ....

I'd take either Surtain or trade down for more picks.

The reason I posted this is,since(my boy) won the Heisman, he moved into the top 5. One could argue Fields goes at pick 2. If that happened, do you take the next available QB? I have not watched the QB's other than Lawrence,Fields and Mac Jones, because QB was (at the time) not even being thought about with our first pick

Taking a QB with a high pick would create even more cap difficulties.

Makes a huge difference paying 35m for a guy to ride pine... That a ton of money that you can’t spend to help your young QB... And no guarantee Fields can play at this level or that Hurts pans out to be a success.. Still a ton of unknowns on both guys.

Im not against going QB and gambling on him working but it definitely means Wentz should already be out the door

Well we have Mailita also who showed us some nice things,so although LOT is always important, I don't want to overload one position while being thin somewhere else

yeah in 5 years lol

Sure, that is the HOPE. All I am saying is if he doesn't budge or help us trade him-TOO BAD,you can sit and the league will know you are a diva loser with no drive. So he can kill his own trade stock unless he helps us(if he indeed wants out). Taking another QB would certainly seal that deal. NOW,if he wants to PLAY,he will do whatever it takes to be traded(and that's good for us)

Could be wrong but don’t draft picks make a set amount regardless of position depending where they are drafted... Only difference would come at the 5th year option where I believe players make what avg. of the top 10 players at there respective position

I’d probably be thinking about trading Lane. He should have good trade value even though he’s been suffering this same injury for two seasons. Obviously maybe some Gms skeptical on his health. You’d have Mailata who looks to be a swing T. Dillard backing up LT. Driscoll battling Mailata for the starting job.

And Wentz won how I see it... Because guess what he is still collecting all that money from us...Eagles hold zero leverage in my eyes and would only hurt themselves more the longer we sit on him especially if the plan is for him not to start

But like I said, you are spending that amount on THREE QB's who can PLAY and if Wentz wants to whine for another year, he will destroy his trade value. Teams won;t want a whiner who sat out a year because he's a pusscookie. He may be getting paid, but he is LOSING if he really wants to start somewhere

Considering his age and recent injury history, that move actually might back quite a bit of sense (further considering our cap situation - he carries a cap hit of $17.8M in 2021 ... trading him with a post June 1 designation would result in $9.7M in cap savings with $8.1M in dead money).

But your not your spending 35m on a backup still paying the rookie QB 10+m and whatever Hurts makes. That money isn’t getting divided on the 3 it all goes to Wentz.

And to make it even worse he would be making 35m as the 3rd string in that scenario

I think you might be right the way they implemented the rookie salary cap

Do you care if you are winning? he won;t be a BU if he wants out he needs to make it easy for us(and him). In the worst case I am paying 35m, but I have 3 possible starting QB's. not many teams can say that. let them battle it out and trade one of the losers. In the best case,we trade Wetnz off. That is of course the preferred option, but either way it's not stopping me from drafting a QB in 1,if that guy can help me win

Unless we win a SB yes I care because say we go 10-6 lose in the playoffs how huge of a difference could that 35m be if it was spent on other positions... When your spending over a 3rd of your cap on 1 spot your going to have drastic holes elsewhere
