Yeah, I only played in HS. I was a TE and that position has changed ALOT since I played. But still I feel it's more the individual than where they came from, but I also understand that's all you have to go on except for the combine. I think Lawrence may be overrated, fields probably is also. I think Trask and Jones are a bit underrated. So IDK what we will do here, but we better NAIL the first 3. The draft is a crapshoot, you just have better ODDS at the top. We have seen undrafteds kick butt and round 1 picks sucks donkey arse. I have noticed this also. We ARE REALLY good and UDFA snags. At least some make the team,so are those guys different than the actual draft pick guy(s). if so whomever is picking the UDFA"s should be running the draft room

LOL ranked by WHO????? At least they got the WR's right. Noones going to draft by this ranking, they will draft for what they NEED

I get the point you are trying to make but you obviously aren’t getting mine.  All good.

Stocking the roster is always the goal lol. The tricky part is taking the right players that are left. We have failed in round 1 MANY MANY times(MS2??) and although Reagor is ok, the VIkes war room erupted when we took him and they got my guy JJ. So until we can identify the proper talent, this team won't get any better and we will be scraping up more FA rejects because we have no money. I wanted JJ because he gives you 12-14 plays a game vs Reagors 4-6 and so far,his "blazing speed" has not been on display

I”ve been a fan of this team and offseason and draft geek for a long, long time. I even started the Jefferson post in "I want the Eagles to get” last year in november/december. I was high on him before that college season even started so you probably guess what my reaction was when they passed on him.

Don’t F it up this time, Howie! If Chase is there at 6 he better takes him or I’m gonna riot! 👊🏻

No I understand your point. The ranking system is opinions like all mocks and boards are. We all have different opinions as to what we need first. I can see 2-3 QB's going before we pick. So the question is do you take BPA based on these rnakings,os do you take the BPA for the position you need most?(We argue about this every year)

I had him really early too. don't recall when. I think reagor will be ok in time. I was just impatient to get this team back competing. My first thing to do is get a S&C staff in here because we are annually hurt more than most other teams and it's gone on so long,it's beyond coincidence IMO. I like Smith better. it's difficult for a WR to win the Heisman, so I'm going there if he's at 6. Chase didn't even play and I would pass and take his Teammate Marshall in round 2 if push came to shove and I missed on smith. We have SO many needs I didn;t think we had

IDK Ham may be correct after all. he wasn't the same after the concuss. Would the Colts want to take that risk??? The plus is he would be reunited with Reich

They wouldn't have many options. They could sign Rivers for another year, but what would that get them? He's not going to be any better. There's not any free agents who are going to help them. Watson isn't getting traded to a division rival.

The Colts are built to win right now. But the biggest difference between them and the top AFC teams is QB play, which is a problem that isn't going to get solved through a draft pick. If Reich thinks he can win with Wentz, it seems like a no brainer to get a deal done from both sides.

May be too costly. We shall see. They could snag a guy like Mac Jones(Bama). He's not terrible and still sign Rivers to a 1 year with the BU now on the roster. I still say the Pats could also be a trade partner. I dont think uncle bill is happy with Cam and if Wentz can be fixed, thats a pretty nice team to go to

Pats draft 15, thats HIGH for them LOL, so it would not be a shock for me if Bill took Wentz for that 15 pick because the top tier draft QB's will be gone. Depends on the deal

OK so let's hear it. You are at pick 6. The following players are there. Who do you choose from Parsons, Smith, Chase, Fields, Surtain,Farley, Rousseau. It is my belief that the player you take in 1(this year) will depend on whom you can get in rounds 2 and 3 and I say that only because we need TOO much. You know my op is Smith and Deaths is Chase,so at least we agree on THAT need Maybe not a NEED as much as the caliber we will get. I prefer Smith because he seems more polished and "NFL ready". JMO

That same theory is why we got Wentz,so once again,if I'm the Colts I have to question his league leading picks and sacks and I'm spending ALOT of money draft capital or both to take that risk

They have a pretty idea of what Wentz can do since Reich coached him for two years. So I don't think they would be too concerned with a one-season drop-off, especially considering the extenuating circumstances.

A lot of it depends on Reich. If he thinks he can fix Wentz, trading for him is a no brainer. If he doesn't, they aren't going to.

A drop off with our awful Oline I could live with. But he was missing wide open receivers, staring them down, typical things a rookie does. Taking sacks instead of throwing it away(more rookie stuff) We couldn't correct that in 12 weeks? If our staff is THAT bad, there is NO QB that's good enough

I think you mean "Ray's" choice is Chase. Me personally, Id be thrilled with any of Smith, Chase or Surtain at number 6. Id even be happy if they move up a few spots for Sewell if he gets past number 3. Long shot there but Id be very happy with it. I like Smith just question durability in the NFL like we see with Hollywood Brown and DJax who are very similar in size. Both Chase and Smith are good route runners, both explosive off the line, have good speed and nice hands. I dont think you can go wrong with either in that selection. If you have a buyer for the number 6 pick and you are still in the top 10 Id be fine moving back a few spots and still land one of these 3 players.

on a different note Chase is 2 years younger then Smith.(Well 1.5 years) That can make a difference in the decision by teams.

And so,why would I pay millions and draft capital to pay a guy I can get the same results with in a rook? I really thought we would start Wentz the final game, and let him play a 1/2 if we really thought he was going to stay here.Press filaed,he needs to go as well and if Wentz is too arrogant to get help on his own(which he refused to do until he lost his job) then IDK any team would want that,so IDK

yeah I agree I would add 10 pounds to Smith, but he runs a great route tree and he gets that separation. With him or Chase, I think we would be fine with WR's if they can all stay on the dang field. Fulgham is a keeper ,Ward should stay, reagor. Jjaw FINALLY showed me why we drafted him,but for me he is on the bubble.IDK what we will do with Djax and Alshon, and we can still have Goodwin as that contract was merely postponed. IDK how good he would be here, but may be worth keeping

Because Wentz has shown the ability to play at an MVP level, and that's a risk worth taking, since you aren't going to get that with Rivers or a rookie.

IDK why we signed Howard,we didn't use him(or Sanders for that matter) Still would like to add a RB somewhere in round 5(Zamir White, maybe  Sermon). Also wondering if kelce retires. hes' been retiring for 3 years now

yeah PRE concuss, but you know you;re only as good as your last season. It would be cause for concern if I am the Colts(or Pats)Why not jut move up and get an upper level rook? Rooks today are more NFL ready then in the past and we have seen many make impacts(even Hurts beat the Saints lol)

OK my bad  but you are on the clock. I'm sure we'd all be happy with whatever we took, but which do YOU take?

yeah, making mocks I realize how much I miss that round 4 pick. I would go crazy waiting a whole round and 1/2 with no pick. Round 4's are guys with nice ceiling potentials that could start the following year. I think we're going to need all our first 3 round picks to start(it's 74 picks between 3 and 5-UGH),so really more than 2 rounds waiting(technically)

Because of the terrific season Smith had, some are forgetting how good Chase was in 2019 IMO. 25 lbs heavier, sturdier build and more physical. Don’t get me wrong! I’d be happy with either one but I prefer Chase. Very interested how he’ll petform at the combine.

Yeah this is a tough year for the non players

Yeah thats a good enough point. I would put 10 pounds on Smith, but if Chase was that good why didn't he in the Heisman? it takes a pretty special WR to beat out the annual slew of QB's, so that's a point for you and 1 for me. I would be fine with either also. We will probably take a BU punter. Another thing I will remind many of is we hear ZIP about our long snapper. That's a GOOD thing, cause they aren't mentioned unless they screw it up and we aren't missing Dorenbos lol. Dude is a GREAT magician. Maybe he could work wonders with this lame team.

Chase sat out the 2020 season while Smith played (and had himself quite a year ... 105 receptions for 1641 yds and 20 TDs).

In 2019, Chase numbers were equally impressive:  84 receptions for 1780 yds and 20 TDs).

People also forget this season a lot of good players opted out and did not play, some colleges out as well. Love Smith and what he did, not putting it down, but this was a * year for all of college football.

But no Heisman. Chase also had this guy named Burrow throwing to him then. SO why isn't Mac Jones the first QB off the board?
