I’d say we need to do a similar investment at DB that we’ve done at WR over the last two years of the draft. I could see us finding playing time for multiple young DBs. Mills probably isn’t back. McLeod won’t start the season. Maddox isn’t enoughoutside. NRC didn’t workout.

Could anyone say we couldn’t use a DB with our first and second round picks? There are other options but you can’t deny that’s been our hole for such a long time.

You could make a case we should move on from Barnett, Curry, Avery and even Graham at DE. Malik is a fore gone conclusion to be gone. After Hargrave and Cox you could make a case to move in a different direction from the other DTs. Not sure what defense we will run. Seems pretty obvious the Dline(OLB if it’s a 3-4) will need to be revamped to implement the new defense almost regardless. Burke taking over as DC  would be the possible lone exception. So that area needs investment.

I never said don’t draft a WR at 6. But you said take a WR at six and then spend a fifth round pick on one. I just don’t feel like adding a day WR does much for us. I never argued against Smith. I’m just still considering all the possibilities.

I also said I "may not like it, but I would understand it" if you read my post

I said we are stocked with young WRs that need to develop. That’s how I’d describe our WR room, assuming we move on from Alshon and DJax.

we could have 50, but I need THREE that produce. I dont need a room full of #4 WR's and PS guys

Well that's the issue,we have holes we didn't know we had lol. When people went down we were EXPOSED as having alot of inadequate BU's(what you call developmental guys). Need #2's everywhere that can step in without a terrible amount of drop off(that is always the goal, but we can't get there)

We really NEED to take a CB, perhaps 2. 1 to start, one to BU either side. Easier said than done. We could use a young LB, even late. I have McFadden as our first round 6. We're not fixing it all in one draft, but we can improve

If they don’t go CB in rd 1 I’m hoping for Samuel Jr with our 2nd.  Horn would be a solid addition too but don’t know if he’ll be there at 37.

Horn might be a good target if they trade back to 12 or 15. Tankathon has him as the 17th best prospect, so he would probably be there.

RE: Clev vs Pitt game.

I bet Steeler fans think they're having a nightmare and hoping to wake up lol

These are the playoffs? Expected better games today. Brees seemed to be able to draw CHI offsides whenever he wanted to. PITT shooting themselves in both feet w/ turnovers and can't stop the run. Browns all screwed up w/ covid and injuries, score should be reversed. Ben forgot how to throw long.

Replace PITT/Browns with with Philly

Thinking Horn is more likely to go in the 16-20 range but so hard to say with any certainty because you never know how other teams feel about him.  It only takes one to covet a player to take him unexpectedly higher (Raiders last year taking Ruggs over Jeudy and Lamb).

Campbell would also be a solid addition and should be there at 37.

Every Year there are 6-8 "Can't Miss" Studs in the draft. If you are lucky enough to land one of those picks you don't trade out of that spot unless the position of need is not one of those available. We need so much that we cannot afford to move down when this "Stud" is there for the taking. We need CB, LB, WR and Edge rusher. Grab that player at 6 and deal with the other areas later in the draft. Maybe trade Ertz for a 3rd or let players walk to possibly add a compensatory pick. This team is not going to be fixed in one season, so don't try by accumulating picks. Also, we do not have the best track record with our selections as it is. I cannot believe we would screw up #6.... right?

Is this a serious question?  I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Believe it or not, there are those who would not. I am thinking that there is a disconnect between Wentz and Doug. It may have been helped when we drafted Hurts, but it seemed to have been there all season. Not having a TC did not help. Anyway, they are having a meeting. If it is determined that Wentz and Doug cannot co-exist, then see what we can get for Doug. No way we can trade Wentz without it hurting us big time. If we can get multiple players by trading Doug, then why not try it? You can grab a CB with pick 24 and possibly a Edge rusher or Center/ Guard at 66. This should help big time getting the team reloaded.

I’d say the disconnect seems to be coming from Wentz having a huge ego and not being coachable. I wouldn’t move on from my SB winning coach with that as reasoning. I’m not rewarding a player power tripping like that.

The Falcons have needs everywhere on their defense except for LB. Jones and Oluokun are both really good. The Jets and Dolphins make much more sense as they both run a 3-4. But if he gets past them, there's no way the Falcons or Bengals take him.

(Could be 5 as I had Cincy taking Paye. Not worried, this "pro" will come around and see it my way soon. Kids-geez LMAO. It sucks being right all the time(sigh)

Yeah said this early on that drafting Hurts got into his head and the results were Wentz was "trying too hard" rather than just playing the game as he should. On the other front,Wentz was making stupid mistakes that he should know by now. Missing wide open receivers/staring your targets down(that's on Wentz) Forcing passes instead of throwing them away (that is on the Hurts draft). Holding the ball too long and taking sacks(that's on Wentz) Lousy play calling(that could be on Ped OR Wentz if it was an audible) Getting us into this mess(that is on Howie). What to do about it all(That is on Lurie). SO you have the 3 stooges involved with Lurie needing to sort out this disaster. If we're making staff changes do it NOW,because we MUST NAIL this next draft. "cutting Ped" would save us the embarrassment and cap hit, but can Wentz come back?? If we keep Wentz do we have any cap at all? We talk about trading Ertz, Djax and Alshon may(should) go away, but IDK if that's enough

FYI, the same website at this time last year was wrong on seven of the first ten picks, so a little early for a victory lap.

yeah he won a SB, with the players we got before he got here. Since he came it's like getting a small cut and letting yourself bleed out. Nice and SLOW. There is gauze and tape and band-aids for you, but "nah I'll do this myself". The results are now that slow bleed has brought on team infection. peds play calling is still atrocious, Ped cannot make adjustments IN GAME, and being a former QB, apparently he can't tell another QB how to fix their issues either. Saw many games where we came out totally FLAT since the SB(remember play 30?). That play 30, went from 30, to 20 ,to 15, to sometimes nil.Not fixing your QB with a broken former QB who can't fix his own mistakes after 5 years. Now maybe Ped IS telling Wentz what to do and is being ignored by him. In either case that is a disconnect we cannot afford. I'm ready to let Ped walk and get some new(exciting and innovative) blood in here. This team needs a transfusion because the paddles are out and we have flat lined

Parsons is at the top of my wish list but I don't think this regime will go LB that early.  After that I have Chase and do think there is a chance we could trade down 2-3 spots picking up a day 2 pick and still land him.  But obviously that is a gamble.  If they really want him best to just take him at 6.

Sure, but you said it can't happen. Maybe it WON'T be yep it CAN as this guy thinks also. Most mockers will nail the first 1-5 if they have any credibility. After 5,6,7 is where most get it wrong. SO just showing you there was madness to my method lol

We would have to move UP for Parsons. I dont see that happening( as much as I would love to have him). Smith basically sitting there at 6. We need an offense.......to keep the defense OFF the field. Just doing that would help immeasurably. Every PICK costs your D's fuel tank. Every SACK makes the D,s job tougher when you go 3 and out. We(our D) did fairly well with all that against them. Piss poor clock management. Going for it on 4th down when you have a ragtag group of linemen. That is just stupidity. if the Jets will give me those 2 picks mentioned, I will take that trade. After the SB we 'scraped" into some post season, but hardly a team to reckon with. I have no idea who we should hire. But since we will hire a new DC, lets hire on the O side also. maybe we need 3 hires, DC, OC and HC. We need a transfusion or we will be DOA for as long as who is in place remains. We are at the bottom of this barrel, therefore it can't get much worse right? I say let's move on. Maybe Wentz can be saved with proper people behind him. if we feel that can be done with a new staff,so be it,then we can trade Hurts and go from there getting Wentz's confidence back. OR he(Wentz) is an irreparable cancer on this team and needs to go also. That call is on Lurie also, but stagnating where we are cannot be an option IMO
