We would have to move UP for Parsons. I dont see that happening( as much as I would love to have him). Smith basically sitting there at 6. We need an offense.......to keep the defense OFF the field. Just doing that would help immeasurably. Every PICK costs your D's fuel tank. Every SACK makes the D,s job tougher when you go 3 and out. We(our D) did fairly well with all that against them. Piss poor clock management. Going for it on 4th down when you have a ragtag group of linemen. That is just stupidity. if the Jets will give me those 2 picks mentioned, I will take that trade. After the SB we 'scraped" into some post season, but hardly a team to reckon with. I have no idea who we should hire. But since we will hire a new DC, lets hire on the O side also. maybe we need 3 hires, DC, OC and HC. We need a transfusion or we will be DOA for as long as who is in place remains. We are at the bottom of this barrel, therefore it can't get much worse right? I say let's move on. Maybe Wentz can be saved with proper people behind him. if we feel that can be done with a new staff,so be it,then we can trade Hurts and go from there getting Wentz's confidence back. OR he(Wentz) is an irreparable cancer on this team and needs to go also. That call is on Lurie also, but stagnating where we are cannot be an option IMO

If we do end up canning Doug that could be why there has been no movement on hiring a DC yet, because a new HC would likely want to hire his own staff (whether or not he is afforded that luxury is another matter, and knowing this FO, that very well could be the case ... and would severely limit the pool of respectable candidates from which to chose).  Also, if we do fire Doug, we are getting into the pool really late compared to the other teams that are looking to hire a HC.

BTW,if I was Lurie, I would sell this team and buy a beach house in the Virgin Islands and say F it

This Eagles team is just sounding more and more like a complete cluster F of an organization... All I can hope for this is just media making something out of nothing

Like they're really meeting in Florida for a round of golf, nothing more.

Why are you continuing to say we can use that money elsewhere when we won't be able to! That Dead money will not magically appear if you trade Wentz. We have to pay it whether he stays or goes. period. Only possible options is if Wentz gives us 30 Mil back.... Then we have 30 mil to spend. Like that is going to happen!!

Ummm simple no we can’t use the money this year but if you move out the contract now you will start the process over... holding him and keeping that money over the course of his contract... It really not a hard concept to understand.
But it all comes down to what the team wants to do moving forward at QB. It’s either Wentz as the starter or move on starting now so by 2022 and then 2023 we have more cap available for whoever is at QB over spending 35m in 22 and 35m in 23

We are already nothing, all they do is report it lol

Jets offered 2 picks(apparently). Could we pressure them into "Ped for your 2 pick". Doubt they would, but I would try it anyhow lol Or Ped and Ertz for your 2 and another pick? If we did this we'd better have MASSIVE confidence in Wentz

"Ped/Ertz for your 2 and 66" make the call Howie

At 2 I take Lawrence or Fields, at 6 I take Smith. I now have Whining Wentz that If I also picked up Fields(or Lawrence) would now make him make a GREAT deal to get outta Philly if he wants to start(Colts? Pats?) Yeah I have 2 rook QB's now, both with upside and I also have the Heisman winning WR. Now I can work on the lines and the DB's(maybe add a RB) for the remainder of the draft. I also pick-up Zac Thomas as a UDFA QB and tell Suds to hit the bricks. I would be ready for a year of growing pains doing this, as most teams with rook QB's must, but the potential is IMMENSE. I now have THREE QB's on rookie contracts(OH that's SWEET on my bottom line for at least 3 years)  I would expect Hurts or Fields/Lawrence to take the #1,2 slots and Thomas to be a #3 with upside. really, why not take this shot? it can't get any worse, may as well get a FUTURE in place. if not we can strive for .500 as we always do

Not that Simple. You trade Wentz and you lose 34 Mil Dead money. We are 51 million over the Cap so you now need to get another QB to replace Wentz. For what? 10 mil? 5 Mil. Now we are 56-61 mil over the cap. We have draft picks to sign. Forget about Free Agents as we have no money for them either. IT is not as simple to say- "Just Cut him"

For the Record. Jets did not officially offer anything. It was leaked that Joe Douglas would love to have Pederson there as he gets along great with him. It would seem a perfect marriage. But will the Eagles let Pederson go? I personally would, but many still feel he is worth keeping. I also understand that as he did do what no one before him could.....

He "inherited" that SB team. And lets be honest we had alot of LUCK winning that(or even getting there). Despite the playoff appearances post SB, this team gets worse every year. We could have won this lame division with 2 more wins. Striving for a 6 win season is not good enough for me sry

I don't think we have to move up to get Parsons. at least 2, possibly 3 QB's will be taken before us.

Jacksonville, Jets and Atlanta all need QB's. Detroit also needs a QB if their guy is there and may even try and trade up to #3 to get him.

So Miami and Cincy are the only two possible teams we need worry about. Cincy will be drafting the OT if there, so what is Miami going to do? Trade back to 7? Draft a WR or take Parsons. Either way, we are assured the LB or the best WR in the draft.

I will still argue (and my other post backs that up), that Parsons goes to ATL. That would require us to move up. The arguement was made"Atl has LB's" Sure but don't you replace the worst of those with a world class talent? I think you DO and trade off the "loser" and IMO Smith>Chase. WE could be a trade partner for that ATL cast off LB lol

Atlanta needs a QB as Ryan is on his way out. You get your QB when you are in a position to and no one knows if Atlanta will be in this position again.  Grab the 3rd Best option at QB and let him sit behind Ryan for 1-2 years. That is what most teams would do in their position. Whether or not they do it is conjecture. You could be right. Who knows. In either case we should get one of the top players at 6 and need either of them.

My opinion different. They can grab a QB in round 2 if they want. If I have a shot to take a world class LB you bet I'm taking him. Ryan isn't terrible he will be around a few years, and who know what team cuts a QB they can add. Plus, I would now have a "spare" LB I could use in the next draft,or who could be traded for a BU QB. So, I still think they pull that trigger and deal with Qb later

Thought you guys knew DP was gone.

Wow, supposedly DP said he was sick of people telling him what to do.

Believe the FO needs further cleaning out. Hire a real GM with a plan and in charge. Let him put together FO and coaches

My guess is that Duce will be a front runner for HC and that the DC will also come from within the building.

They will hire an experienced OC.

It seems like a pretty good set up. There are tons of good OCs who will want this job, since they will get to call plays. Duce gets the HC job, which will be focused on more overall responsibilities and less on game day stuff. They have two experienced DC candidates so there is continuity there.

Doug wasn't going to get the power he wanted, so it's better for him to go somewhere else. He will be hired again in less than a week.

And the team, IMO, doesn't need to get a complete rebuild on the coaching side. They just need a head coach that bridges the gap between the FO and the coaching staff, plus someone to do the press conferences and motivate the team.

Isn't SSDD if Howie remains in charge?

I hope not!  Duce cannot even handle the RB's right and you want him as HC? I know this is not going to happen, but the guy I like is Jay Gruden. He got the most of who he had to work with in Washington and I feel he got a bum rap there.

Doug gone Lincoln Riley????

Howie is staying despite what we want to happen. However, I do feel his time is limited based on what he does this and possibly next year. He is or should be on a short leash....

It is that simple you collect 34m in dead money and you free up 35m so if you want to be technical you get 1m in savings... Then you add in 21 already should be the year you want to start purging and get out of cap hell... so by 22 you already got extra cap to move around with.... You can’t do that if your paying Wentz 3 a year.

but Doug being fired could indicate that we prefer Wentz and the goal is to fix him
