AR was let go because he could not get us over the hump, but we contended pretty much every year. In any case we can argue all day,the point is moot. Philly SUCKS!!!! and we have ZERO upper echelon we are keeping other than Howie

We need THREE hires now. How many other teams are in that stupid position?

TO-Mr. Lurie. If you find your self in a hole -STOP DIGGING

Pederson became the first Super Bowl-winning head coach to be fired within three years of capturing a championship.

I don’t think Pedey had any say about Peters. Lurie’s buddy and Hall of Famer JP was let go. Should have just stayed that way. Peters came back and then had a standoff against Rosie.

Schwartz had two former DCs on his staff. Flajole at LB who’d been here awhile along with Hauck had been here awhile with the S. So that’s a fairly loaded experienced group. Now...letting go Douglas...Manuel just got here as Secondary Coach. Got Zoom meetings and a tiny bit of practice to judge things for cutdowns. Douglas had plenty of opportunities his career here before that under Schwartz. He didn’t shine. So am I killing Manuel over that? Not really. Word was Craig James won the job and earned a contract.

Stout was running the Oline. So those combination were on him. Really think he did some excellent work with what he had this season. I mean this guy is a first class position coach. How much are you really telling him what he has?

Wentz? Seems like the players and coaches are trying to get through to a guy with a big ego that just got fed by the MegaDeal. Pedey’s quotes are "I want my voice to be the only voice heard in the QB room.” Basically having Press and Breiner in my mind speaking for him. But he wanted Groh. Think he got MM and Scange forced on him. So how much of this regression was Pedey’s fault?

I think you are making my point. We don't pay position coaches like Stoutland and Flajole to make decisions about the depth chart, we pay a head coach to do that. He has to be able to evaluate his players and be able to make that determination. certainly he can seek input, but the reason Stoutland and Flajole aren't the head coach is that they have a ceiling. Stoutland might be great at teaching techniques and motivating his guys, but at the end of the day, you want the head coach doign the player evaluations.

If he is relying on his position coaches to do that, you end up with a depth chart where the backups are better than the starters, which has been the case here over and over. It's what leads to mistakes being made like cutting Douglas and Jones, who were the second and third best corners on our roster this year until we got rid of them.

These are mistakes that a head coach can't make. I expect Stoutland to teach Mailata how to play football. I expect Doug to know that he's ready to play. The fact that he didn't know that is one of the reasons that he had to go, in my mind.

Keep in mind, our depth chart at LT was essentially Dillard - Peters - Pryor - Mailata. Our depth chart at corner was Slay - Maddox - James - NRC - LeBlanc. Our depth chart at LB was Gerry - Riley - Edwards - Singleton.

In all of those cases, the best players were on the bottom of the depth chart. That's not a Howie Roseman problem. That's on Doug. A head coach has to know who his best players are. If he doesn't, why is he the head coach?

Basically right now we are the same as an expansion team. Sad after our long history

I think Pederson was a very good coach. He just didn’t want Lurie and Rosie dictating everything to him.

I was wondering if he more less opted for voluntary termination

I'd like to see what's been happening w/ the Texans happen with the Eagles. Players there are stepping up and stating their lack of confidence in their management and the process involved in their FO hiring. Players are going to not want to come here as they're seeing ones that leave doing so well on other teams. We've wasted cap and players careers far too often under Howie. Getting rid of Howie or Jeff sell the team has my vote.

LOL other than Howie we just got rid of all our management

Then Howie needs to step away from personnel mgt.

Ham-nothing will change until Lurie grows a set and FORBIDS Howie to do the drafting/player acquisition. Those 2 are joined at the crotch. CHIP wanted(and got) control remember? when Ped was hired Lurie didn;t want to make that mistake again, and THAT was the mistake LURIE made

I prefer to have a HC focus on being a HC and a GM focus on talent evaluation/acquisition (not one person handling both responsibilities).  I'm glad Lurie didn't give Doug personnel control.  If you don't have someone you can trust to do their jobs effectively, then you need to replace that person with someone you CAN trust.

Stud addition, Reagor, Ward, Hightower, Fulgham,Goodwin,Watkins, Jjaw. So one again who are you cutting?

goodwin

I will stand my ground. The Texans organization is known for wasting players careers. Since Jack Easterby has walk into the building nothing good has happened in/for the organization and for some reason someone can’t seem to see what’s going on. Pathetic!!!

Sound familiar?

Need an Eagles legend like Dawk to do the same about Howie.

Like the Lou Holtz quote too

Haven't looked up the Philly headlines lately after running into paywalls. Philly fans are passionate and should be making their thoughts loud and clear - dump Howie or sell the team! I don't even want Howie as a contracts guy, we see the damage he's done. Know all the focus is on coaches right now, needs to be on GM - let that person put the staff together.

That would be your description of Howie.Only person that trusts Howie is Lurie

Some think Howie is great. Not everyone thinks like you (or me) It's Luries money. If he wants a bad team, that is his choice. He's not selling because YOU want him to and he's not getting rid of Roseman (yet, maybe never). Now we have players demanding how to run teams? That's a load of hooey. Go get a job at Wal-Mart if it bothers you instead of ripping the fans for millions of dollars. We are churning out spoiled prima donnas IMO THAT is what's pathetic

Pls define "wasted career" What defines a "wasted career"?? You got 32 million instead of 33?(WAAAAA WAAAAAA) You had a 5 win season not a 10 win?(WAAAA WAAAAA) As a player you don't get pro bowl votes because your team is bad? Maybe your NOT pro bowl caliber? You got 5 trophies instead of 6? (WAAA WAAA) FN group of overpaid pansies

Players have every right to express their opinions as their livelihoods are affected. Poor FO practices creates a bad environment and affects player / team performance. Scapegoating does not fix the problem, just as partial removal of a cancer will not cure it.

They get paid either way right???? Complaining about the FO for your lack of performance is also scapegoating. Was Wentz worth 34 million this year? Maybe the FO needs to complain about him?

Ian Cunningham may be a tempting, in house replacement for Howie.

Would like to see us go after Mike Borgonzi from KC. Obviously a good talent evaluator, has the experience.
