I liked Keith Butler for the job when we hired Pedey. He just looks better and more experienced now.

Only issue with him is no nfl experience coaching and never really coached a major college program..(think he was on the Ohio State staff for a bit)

My biggest fear is we can’t hire the best coach because of our FO... No coach is going to want to be head to be a puppet

Absolutely yes. I mean let's be honest if you're looking from the outside right now what is going to really entice you to take the Eagles job?

Well, People keep saying they won't take a HC job here because of the FO, but how many other teams in the NFL made it to the play-offs 13 times since 2000? There are very few. We as Eagle fans are very critical. We need to look at other teams to see the big picture. Cincinnati has made the Play-offs 7 times since 2000 and won 0 games.

Cleveland, Detroit, Jacksonville, Miami, Jets, Chargers and the Raiders all would love to be in our shoes. Those fans are starving for success. Only Cleveland and Miami look ready finally.....

Well, as bad as our situation is, it could be worse. Just look at Atlanta’s situation. Ryan has almost 41 Mil Cap number and Jones is over 23 Mil. To make matters worse, Dead money for the two are over 88 Million total! Oh, did I mention that they are projected to be 24 mil over the Cap…. That is with only around 30 rostered players under contract...

And dem Boyz have to pay a QB or move on

I think the Doug hire was an exception. Doug was the Eagles 5th or 6th choice for the Eagles because they waited so long to start that year. Im sure if the Eagles hired a top candidate that year or this year they would let them choose their coaching staff. During the interview process that is even part of the process for the interviewee to talk about who he would bring in for his staff. The FO evaluates that in the decision on which candidate to select. Doug was very clueless in this area as we all saw in the past with some of his coaching hires. Doug didnt pick Frank, Jim, Flip etc the FO did. Guess what, it brought us a SB when Frank took over the offense in major roles. When Doug did his thing after Frank and Flip left we dropped down to crap.

So I am very positive that staffing will be discussed during the interview process and the new coach will get his guys.

The biggest issue right now with this job is cap space which I think there is a plan in place. I think some of the talent issues can be fixed with better coaching.

The roster isn’t terrible I think especially O coaches would lick there chop to get there hands on either QB... Yes Wentz had a terrible year but not like he was always terrible sure most O guys would think they could fix him. You have a pretty good OL in place nice young RB. Young WRs. High draft picks

But the big thing is the FO that’s the one thing that could scare people off in my eyes.

I think the NFL rules on cap need to be changed. They are outdated

I’m assuming it’s over for Kelce. We have three C rostered Seumalo, Herbig and Juriga.

All 2nd rate C's who play OG. I want a SPECIALIST anchoring my Oline, not BU OG's

I think the issue is the control Roseman has. Coaches like to institute their own ideas and Roseman won't let them. Roseman must have nude pics of Lurie at a massage parlor. Lurie needs a GM who understands coaches need a bit of freedom. If you're not allowing that just make Roseman HC and be done with it. Same difference!!!!

I do agree with better coaching helping to fix some of the issues with talent.  Adjusting scheme to fit the strengths of the players will also help quite a bit.  I’m just concerned about the hire process since once again we were late getting into the mix just like 2016 as you mentioned and may once again we looking at the 5th or 6th choice.  I worry that the best candidates will be snapped up elsewhere and we’ll be left to choose from some really undesirable options like Gase, Kafka, Gailey, etc.

There is only 32 HC jobs in the NFL someone is going to take the job but can’t ignore what seems like a serious dynamic problem between coaching and FO and it’s been that way since Howie took over.

Howie/AR had reports of power struggles before AR eventually got fired

Chip and Howie didn’t get along

Now Doug/Howie there was apparently a falling out.

I don’t know what is all true but there definitely something not meshing and other people in the nfl no doubt notice as well.

Seems to me the problem is Lurie kissing Howie's butt, not the other way around as it should be

We are really not that late this year. The playoffs are not over and I think that is where the Eagles FO really wants a candidate from. I think Brian Daboll is number 1 on the list. However there will be a fight on who can land him. However, because the Eagles will have to wait to even interview Brian, I think some good candidates will get taken so I could see Eric being the left over choice if the Eagles dont get Brian. more then likey I think the Eagles are interviewing now and if Brian goes somewhere else they already went through all the other interviews that they already have there 2nd, 3rd choices list done so can hire that 2nd choice quicker. Unlike what happened in 2016.

Chip would not take the job unless he had control(taken from Howie) After that epic fail, now Lurie is gunshy to give it up again. Thus Howie RUNS THIS TEAM

Interested in the Ryan Day (HC) option and Martindale as DC (Squeelers). At this point it can't get any worse than where we are. Once again though Day would not want to be controlled from above. SO it will be difficult to find a coach who can truly be effective as long as they are on Howies leash

My job in later years was to go into businesses as a "new employee" and find out where the logjam of issues were. How to increase the bottom line and who was holding that up. Although I am not inside this org, I can tell you Howie is this teams problem. My reco to Lurie would be A) fire Howie or B) split this position and hire a GM. If none of these occur, you can hope for more of the same BS and you wasted your money on me lol

I just want Lurie to hold everyone accountable for there jobs. Why I think you have to stop muddying the waters and have define roles.

Let the FO and Howie build the best 90 man roster in there eyes based on the Coaches wants

Let the coach handle his own staff and getting the best 53 man roster. High contract guys and high draft pick aren’t going anywhere it’s still a business coaches now this as well.

All this BS makes me wonder about other things. Is Howie listening to our scouting staff, ignoring them? Some rather "shaky" draft picks make me wonder why we are paying a scouting dept(MS2, Reagor over JJ, Jjaw, Hurts etc) Who is running this show? Must face that Lurie is your basic figurehead. Of course he is the owner and has final say on everything because it's his loot ,but really Howie is running this team(into the ground)

And while NO draft pick is a sure thing, you can certainly increase your odds of successful drafting with more accurate and knowledgeable decisions

Absolutely

It was "reported" (I use the term loosely) that Lurie told Howie to draft JJAW and Hurts.  How accurate that is really is anyone's guess.

No, I want Howie removed from the process. He is fine as a contract guy, working /crunching numbers, but IMO he needs to be out of the draft and player acquisition process. That to me is where the logjam is
