So O line aside, this is an AWFUL QB.and once again I am not losing Hurts until I see him make the numbers we pay HUGE money for

I don’t solely base Wentz on just this season the previous play still there the guy still has talent.. The Mon-STARS didn’t come down and steal it away.
So I fully believe right coaches can fix him will we hire them is the question.

As for Hurts as I stated I’m not trading him away for nothing just to move him would have to be a good offer that could aid my team.

That actually does make quite a bit of sense.

Yeah,IDk what we're going to do lol. All guesswork and conjecture. It needs to be the right call which we haven't been real good at lately

If I hire Day and pass over Duce again, he may move on and that would be another lost coaching asset. If I hire Day, then I believe we go after Fields, but skipping Smith could be a gigantic mistake and I imagine Duce moves out. So this will be a HUGE decision

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/duce-staley-interviewing-eagles-today-head-coaching-job                So,if we do not promote Duce right now,I suspect he will HC elsewhere. He's not going to wait round here forever with token words added to his door

So if we hire Duce do we get the 2 3rd round compensatory picks that other teams like SF received for having developed a minority candidate (Saleh) or would we have to lose him to another team to get those?

We would be asking Duce, who has been here 7 years to wait another 5 (at least) in his current role. I don't see it

My belief is you have to actually lose them to another team.Just a guess

Bummer!

I could be wrong. That stuff is not a strong point for me(maybe I have no strong points anyhow )

I guess for me the best call is to make Duce the HC, then find a pass happy OC and hope those 2 can balance it out between themselves. Then we'd need a new RB coach and DC,but doing this we'd be 1/2 way home

I know a lot of people aren’t big on the idea of Duce being HC but I think he would work well in that role.  He doesn’t need to be some offensive guru to be a good HC ... more than anything he needs to be a good "leader of men” (players and assistant coaches).  If he is that and hires a strong, experienced, creative offensive mind to serve as OC I think that would work.

Next would be finding a good DC (did Raheem Morris get hired yet?) and a strong QB coach.

The question about Duce would be staff who would he get who does he know??? Not sure Duce has the type of connections to build a staff.. he has only ever coached here in Philly and started in 2011 so still relatively new coach.

id rather not go through another FO hiring the staff and falling out again.

Agreed in another thread I wondered who he had in mind for his staff because I'm sure that would come up during an interview (unless he'd have to play along with decisions made by Howie - heck not like he isn't use to the Philly way of doing things).

Still think we should be doing everything in our power to get Arthur Smith. Snatch him from ATL lol.

We are interviewing Mayo for HC which I think is to much but think we should strongly consider him for DC whoever becomes HC. Could be a nice pairing with Smith sure they know each other little bit with Vrabel being a former NE star and HC of the Titans

Joe Brady/Jarod Mayo pairing could be interesting as well as HC/DC be kinda inexperienced which could massively backfire but could also be landing to future stud coaches as well.

IDK All we need is a guy who can get the players to execute the plays and if we pass over him AGAIN,he could end up elsewhere, then we are looking for RB coach also. Sign Duce to a 2 year, let's see what he has. No need for a 5 year. I really can't see how he could be worse than what we had at this point

I would assume after 7 years here he would "know a few people" lol. How about Sproles as RB coach?

Sign Duce on a 2 year "show me" Screw the "5 year plan" BS. It's time to play things smart. If Duce does a good job,we can always sign him to a longer term. Why commit 5 years to ANYONE who has not proven a thing? As we know proving things with ONE team doesn't always translate to YOUR team. SO let's do a 2 so I can hedge my bet

I mean Doug was coaching for about the same amount of time as Duce when he was hired... And we see how his staffs went.

Duce really hasn’t done anything been anywhere only here in Philly. Not saying he doesn’t have anyone but definitely should be a concern that needs to be answered in interviews for me at least

7 years he has been here.it's not like we hired him last year. We hired Ped who had ZERO HC experience at ALL. At least Duce knows the teams inner workings, that's ahead of ped already

Lmao and Doug was coaching for like 7 years before we hired him... Doesn’t mean anything... in fact im More concerned that he has only coached here in Philly nowhere else to be honest. Who does Duce know to hire on his staff who is his OC, who is the DC??? He might have leftover from Chip staff same as Doug did.

McCown QB coach

Peters OL coach

Celek TE coach

Westbrook RB coach

Get the band back together!

IDK,we are risking losing duce here. DO we need that problem added to the problems we have already?
