Sunday Night Football in Santa Clara is a whopper of a game. Followed by at Pitt and then Balt. Ouch. That three game stretch is about as brutal as it gets.

Seahawks , @Packers and Saints is the other brutal three game section of the schedule.

No coasting through the end of this year’s schedule.

That 3 game stretch..Seattle, Green Bay and New Orleans.... if we remain healthy, it's a great opportunity to make some noise in the conference.

Along with any opportunity comes the ability to fail...  who cares.  Man up. Let's go.. to be the best, you gotta beat the best.  After the bye week... 2 of the games are at home, we just won at Green Bay last year.  Let's go!

These rumors of us being in the bidding for Clowney just piss me off. Yes, I’ve always thought he took a late cheap shot on Wentz deliberately. Looked to me like a very gifted athlete dropped his helmet to spear Carson late after he was already down. Complete menace in the move. And I do think Clowney is talented enough to make that decision and make that happen in the fly. The next thing that pisses me off is he hasn’t been all that productive. Definitely feels like an underachiever. The talent is there so....it just feels like he doesn’t care that much about football. Not a great teammate. Isn’t going to put himself on the line for our team. His durability has its question marks. His price isn’t going to be representative of production. And we can’t afford him anyway. The fans hate him. The team seemed to do everything to turn this into Wentz team and then undercut him once this offseason after that fact already(drafting Hurts). Bad for the fans. Bad for the culture. Bad for the city. Bad for the team leader. Bad for the wallet.

There was zero intent to make a tackle from Clowney. He strictly went to torpedo down to the ground to deal punishment. Using his forearm to be thorough about things. Strictly looking for damage.

Yes, good eye. And having the bye right after means they can really go all in on that game.

We have three night games in five weeks on that stretch. Gotta be ready for the bright lights.

Again.... bad pick " for " you... not " by" you.  An example.... you love a stock.  You buy it and you sell it.

The stock absolutely does extremely well, great pick by you.   However,  at the time you got in ( it was a little late) and life circumstances made you have to sell before the big upswing.  So "FOR" you... the stock didn't do much.

However it was still a great pick " BY" you.   Investor return vs investment return.

SO if it was a GREAT pick BY me, but a BAD pick FOR the team, I need to be fired, OR since I make great picks, everyone who coaches them needs fired and replaced

Getting players that fit what you do as a team is also part of finding great picks.

Sure, but those players need the talent level to get better.I can find guys that fit in round 5, that won't get me to the SB

We get linked to every pass rusher usually nothing new.... Clowney does have to be one of the most overrated pass rusher I have ever seen though really has not done much in his career to get the hype he has

Getting a round 1 guy that super talented putting him in the right system can make a massive difference on if he succeeds or not and at what level.... Look at Fletcher Cox you think he would get the same type recognition if he was stuck in Chipper/Davis 34 scheme.... He was still a good player but not the same dominating player he was when he went under Schwartz

Right idea, not sure the right example from a player though.

IDK... like lets say you take a fan ... and he does " mock" drafts ... and he likes certain players.  He predicts the player will be good in the NFL.   It's his opinion.  Lets say that player goes to a team that isn't the right fit.  Is that fan who does the mock draft right or wrong in his opinion?   IDK.  But for that team, the player didn't work.     The fan will go to his grave defending the player.  Site examples of a specific situation where the player might have succeeded on another team.

Now... does that mean coaches or anyone else should get " fired"   I don't think it all revolves around 1 player ... one player that was a failure for that one team.   The overall job of the coach and GM needs to be taken into account.  Not one pick, one draft or even just the draft in general.

The coaches and GMs are not here to cater to anyone's favorite player or prospect... they are here to win titles.

Noone is talking about mock drafts,Joe and you can stop with the childish innuendo's since I know you mean me.I'm talking about the staff finding the players with talent THAT FIT.Now if those players are selected (supposedly GOOD PICKS by all accounts including OUR OWN) and we can't do a thing with them are they now suddenly BAD picks? Because we were too lame to develop them? Or the supposed talent was a farce? If I select Burrow, then make him start day 1 using his LEFT arm, because I am a left handed coach and thats how I want it done, was that a bad pick? I dont think SO. It was FAILURE to develop a GOOD PICK. So now it becomes a GOOD PICK and FAILURE to get him developed into an NFL talent. If he is totally clueless and can't understand an NFL playbook and can't learn beyond what he already knows,THEN that would be a BAD PICK(it happens).Otherwise it's a good pick with failure by our staff ,not a "bad pick"

No innuendo .... I was stressing the point that a player dimply did not work for a team and that nobody needs to get fired due to one player.   Basically saying ... it is what it is.  It happens all the time.  It's the unknown factor of the draft.  Sunday football is another world from Saturday football.   And my innuendo is basically more towards why I don't think people (not anyone necessarily here)  don't think they need to worry so much about Dallas due to their draft.  They lost an all pro C ... replaced him with a 4th round pick.... lost a top CB ... replaced by a 2nd round pick.... lost a solid slot WR... replaced by a rookie..     All these players are rookies... we can mock them up all in the top of the draft.  Really IMO Dallas could have replaced these guys with the first picks at each position and I still don't think it's any upgrade.  Because we just don't know how any rookie will translate to the pros.   Dallas lost legit NFL players, they got rookies who people " think"  will do well.... big difference.

BTW... we can talk the first time a team tries to make a QB throw with the opposite arm.   This is your issue... you need to go to this type of extreme example that just doesn't happen.  It's not the point anyone was trying to make.  Baltimore is a successful franchise.... do coaches need to get fired over Perrimen?  Really?   Or is it just a [iock that did not work for them... bad pick " for"  them???    You are the owner of Baltimore... you are firing guys over Perrimen???? Really?    The coaches had their idea of what they wanted... seemed to work pretty well last year for them.  They won a SB with a speed WR in Torrey Smith... had a nice season last year with the speed WR...   I don't think they were looking to have Perrimen throw with his left hand if you see what I'm saying.  Seems like other guys were able to fill that role and the team had success.  did not work for him in Baltimore though, while it did for others.... it is what it is.  But from the time of draft to the time he was released.... it was a bad pick for them.

Seen we apparently offered Clowney a deal

Surprised, thought he was money hungry and that would be a non-starter for us.

Still waiting for JP to re-sign

Not sure if you had looked into this contract yet. It’s a steady stream of cash into Amari’s pocket each year. It’s not a backloaded contract. But it also has low dead money options for the cowboys to get out of after the first two years. Definitely different than a Rosie Magic contract. What you think?
