There's also the cost of the players you could have gotten with the picks given up. It's a tough decision, esp w/ the bidding war that may happen.

If they land a franchise QB it won’t matter. And some team will pay the price for Watson. Jets land him they basically in the running for the AFC East automatically

/410s good, I thought there was another update to this where they could take a higher amount than the $150k with teams having the option of control?  Either way, they are showing a cap hit of $4.281 mil for Goodwin at the moment.  If it goes down to just over a million,  I have no issue giving him a tryout.   However,  at this point I don't see the need for him as a mentor,  these young guys have all had a season of experience,  more so than he did with the team and either QB.  His play would be the only reason to bring him back for me.

Yeah, maybe it's time we lost the binky, but usually it seems like we always want an old guy hanging around somewhere. I agree though if it's 4 mil, say goodbye. The need for "mentors" is fading as college players are MUCH more prepared for the NFL than they used to be. If we got Smith,Chase,or Waddle and got a few more UDFA's in for competition purposes,I thing we will be fine on that front                                                      /

I am not even sure the Jets go QB in Round 1 this year. I read that they are not convinced Darnold is not the answer. Get him some blockers and WR's first. Maybe a coach that can design an offense around his strengths will change his play. We do not know.

I don't remember a lot of Ertz griping until this year.

There were times he just didn't seem interested

If you are a good player on a suck team your "drive to win" and abuse your body doing it, just doesn't kick in lol. You can't do this alone

I don't listen to any published data on Covid. If someone dies of heart problems and has Covid. Cause of death was Covid. Even if it had no play in the death.

  Very Skewed numbers.....

I don’t think they go QB at #2 either I said Sewell but if they have a chance at Watson think you have to take it

Get Up this am was one scenario was Watson to Dullass, letting Dak go

Our new QB guy coached Dak- adding to the drama lol

Ertz was our top pass catcher. Him flailing and the offensive line woes are the biggest reasons for  Wentz failure.

I'm with 93 here(shockingly) Wentz missing wide open receivers, taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away, staring down his receivers, making bonehead audibles at the line. Your woes all start there

Exactly.  There could be someone who tested positive but remain asymptomatic and are involved in a bad car accident.  They'd probably list COVID as COD.

SOOOO since Dak found out he wouldn't get paid in DUllazz, but he knows we will (see Wentz massive screwed up contract), would he play here? IDK if he would be the same after this bad injury

We can’t afford him lol 😂

Sure because the hospital gets a boatload more loot from the govt if it's a "covid" death

Injury and he basically played last year without a contract. Never say never

Considering we are some 40m over the cap still and Dak is still likely to make 30+m will be damn hard won’t say never but highly unlikely

What's Wentz making?

Dak to us, Wentz to Houston, Watson to Dullaz even up and we all start fresh lol(ok I'm reaching)

https://www.pff.com/news/draft-prospect-rankings-updated-top-100-big-board-2021-nfl-draft  I don't agree. I still think Smith is the best WR on the board. But this gives you some indication of who could be around in 2,3. All 3 of my first picks are right there!!! Smith,Samuel,Ford(WR,CB,S)

That part of the issue with our cap lol not the issue of paying Dak. Wentz think set for 35m even if we trade him believe we only free up like 1m in savings 34m in dead money then of course you have to add the 30+m for Dak if we signed him.

Here is a question regarding Smith so I see the draft going Lawrence then Sewell as of right now.

If your Miami at 3 wouldn’t you then strongly consider Smith who was at Bama with Tua.

Depends on the trade deal. All 3 are paying out big bucks, money's the same.just changing the names

Sure, that's possible. In my view they take Sewell if the Jets go QB so they can protect their own QB investment. With all these QB's planning to move around,it will be interesting to see what the Jets do. Let's not forget that their are "other" QB's besides Fields that can go at 2 (some even have them ranked higher than Fields). I think Waddle was there also. he is a little "beefier" so they may look at him

Not sure that’s how that works but not sure but I do know as of now if we traded Wentz before the 3rd league year we invite think 34-35m in dead money

I don’t have a QB going at #2 to the Jets and if a trade happens the it happens but as I stated I see Sewell to the Jets of things stay as is

I think the Jets and Detroit are trade partners now that Stafford is out
