Stafford to the Rams. Rams gave up two future 1sts 22 and 23, a 3rd and Goff for him.

A certain PT Barnum quote comes to mind.

I think the big difference between Wentz and Goff is that Goff has always been somewhat average, whereas Wentz has fallen off a cliff. This also might be a wakeup call that Wentz needed to fix his issues instead of thinking everyone else is the problem.

That’s true. Goff was always kind of average with some flashes of brilliance. Wentz had a much higher ceiling and showed it(I’ve been going back and watching his rookie season on nfl gamepass) but for whatever reason has fallen off a cliff. I think regardless of what happens to wentz and the eagles he as a person needs to figure out what’s wrong, because I think it’s not a football mechanics.

yeah maybe it does wake him up and the eagles team and us as fans benefit from it. It can’t continue like last season though.

This does, however, show the potential upside that he has if he can bounce back. If he plays well next season, then we have the option of trading him or keeping him. And he should be much better with a more experienced/healthier offensive line, more experienced wide receivers, a coach that schemes to their strengths and a possible #1 pass target taken at #6 (Smith, Chase, Pitts.)

I have been critical of the team's handling of the qb situation, but there is a scenario where Wentz could have a decent season, a team showers us with draft picks, and we move ahead with Hurts.

Stafford threw for 4k yards, 26 tds and 10 ints. Wentz in 2019 threw for 4k yards, 27 tds and 7 ints. So all he has to do is get back to 2019 Wentz and he could turn into the Gamestop stock of the NFL.

Twenty-two quarterbacks were drafted in the first round between 2009 and 2016. One remains with the team that drafted him: Carson Wentz.
(Only four first-round QBs from '16 or before remain with the teams that picked them: Wentz, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Ben Roethlisberger.)

If that isn’t a scary stat line lol

Should wentz be worried ? I think he should be more worried today than he was yesterday. The rams have shown the way out of a bad contract for a player who isn’t playing well.

Why would Wentz be worried?   You think he actually wants to stay here?

I go build the rest of the team... if it's rebuild use Hurts.  Only way I get a QB early is if Wentz goes and that drafted guy is the plan.  If Wentz stays, you get him all the help you can. That help gets inherited by either Hurts or the next guy anyway.

Using 2 early picks on QB ...2 years in a row after paying your " franchise guy"  what's the point?    If he does well , it's a waste, if not then that is 2 players that could have helped him.  You look worse when he succeeds elsewhere.

Depends how good Trask would be right? Josh Allen did pretty well In Buffalo, Herbert for the Chargers and we had a nice ROOK QB once. We're going to build the team anyway no matter who the QB is. SO Wentz plays another year, then you'd have THREE QB's ALL on rook salary for 3,4 years. Thats alot of freed up loot to "build your team". I'll take egg in the face to save 34 million annually for 4 years(136 million bucks buys alot of eggs) Draft Trask. In 2022, Wentz can go if he sucks. We would have Trask, Hurts and White all on rook contracts and all 3 competing for the starting job. Now you are in a position where you can draft a QB every other or 3 drafts. You wanted a QB factory, but noone wants any QB's lmao

Anyway sorry I tossed out my QB scenario. I REALLY DO need to STOP using logic around here 🤣

Rapoport: Carson Wentz is ‘very tradable’ - 94WIP
"I actually don’t think the contract is that big, which I know sounds probably crazy,” Rapoport told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show. "Now, it was big when he got it, but some if it has been paid already, some of it has been paid up front. Four years, averaging I think 24 or 23 million per year—that’s like the 22nd most expensive starter. It’s literally middle of the road. I would say Matthew Stafford has two years and 43 million left, so he’s a little cheaper but he’ll probably want a new deal. Jared Goff, also tradable, he’s a little more expensive I think than Wentz. But these contracts are all tradable. It would be a dead money hit, but then the Eagles would also save because they wouldn’t have to pay the cash. Carson Wentz is very tradable . Whether they want to or whether they want to fix him and try to make good on their investment, that’s a different story. Someone is going to look at Carson Wentz and say, up until the first half of the Washington game, this was a good quarterback. Something happened and it was all bad and he played terrible. But before then, basically up until half time, everything was fine and someone is going to say, ‘I can recapture that.’

Jebus, now we need to add the "psychiatric wing" onto Novacare for players that are "head cases". We can call it the "Agholor unit"

I don’t dislike the idea of drafting Trask but I do think that we should already know we are moving Wentz...To many areas of  need to be addressed in my eyes to worry a out another backup QB.

And if Wentz/Hurts don’t pan out means we likely bad again next year so will be in position to draft a QB then and that QB in theory should be walking into a stronger overall roster.

Of course with Howie running the show....

Why would he be a BU QB? Did we draft Hurts to be a BU QB?

So you lost a year without planning ahead, Yep, that's how we roll here

Yes we drafted hurts to be a backup.

And we draft Trask and we lost a year because the rest of the team is terrible because we have 3 QBs... that how we roll here let’s keep drafting backups instead of starters your right

Not in round 2 you don't unless you are beyond stupid. You always draft a QB hoping they will become starters, if they don't THEN they are BU's

OH we're ONE pick away from a SB????
