Should be a well defined structure. But yet a collaborative approach.

Yeah, for me I don't need a QB like that. The plays calls should be such that the QB agrees with them, although there are times the QB is on the field and the coach is not and has a "feel". Audibles should be used sparingly. If the QB calls one and it WORKS,the coach needs to pick up on that and say "ok my QB is on to something" We need to have that communication/trust. IDK if Wentz's ego is up to that

Audibles should be utilized to get us out of a bad situation. You know, when the defense is setup just right to destroy the play.

I mean Peyton Manning called audibles all the time I think it has to be a balance between QB and coach....I don’t see an issue with the QB adjusting based on what he seeing but you have to be on the sidelines talking with coaches. Something that never seemed to happen with Wentz.

yeah and if coaches are doing their jobs as I said those should be used SPARINGLY

That was a QB with an actual offense 🤣

Yep, Wentz wasn't near Peyton Manning's level.

Wentz has to go. Can you really see his ego managing a QB competition? Nobody can. If he loses, his trade value sinks even lower. If he wins he’d be looking over his shoulder after one bad half of play. The whole thing would be completely disruptive to our new coach trying to bring this team forward. Rip this team apart with everybody picking sides. I don’t see how this can work.

This I absolutely agree with bud. I don't see a situation where this works out well from this point forwards.

Ham, the whole team is a mess and repairs won't happen in 1 season. There were all kinds of blame to throw around for last season. From the players up to Lurie. No one should be free of it. Wentz played terrible. Pederson made terrible decisions and made life harder for his QB and defense. No adjustments at halftime. Bad player personnel decisions by HR. Terrible draft choices. too much hands on for any GM. Lurie allowing this to get out of control. Allowing Peters to dictate his playing time.

I will not make a decision on these new coaches until they play a few games, but we have a few that have never coached their group of players they are charged with. Who is going to assist them to help get acquainted with this new position? We will all see soon enough what to expect next season when the draft happens. Most on here have a good idea what players we should go after. Does Howie come up with another Hurts pick? Imagine how much different last season might have been had the first two picks been Jefferson, Chinn..... Two positions we don't have to address this year.

Siri had to come out and declare this Wentz team. Only way to get him back in the fold. With that not happening....it isn’t happening.

See this is it. Siri not putting his 100% backing behind Carson IS telling. If Carson is the guy then why not just back him? Nobody is going to give Siri ish for that. Carson has been the franchise QB and is paid to be the franchise guy so most people would expect him to be the starter. The fact that he hasn't declared that is, to me, telling. It shows that this team is not behind Carson and there is a very good chance that he gets traded.

So when we get rid of Wentz what’s the answer going forward? Sudfeld is terrible and played under a different regime. He’s not acceptable as the answer for the third string job even.

Devonta Smith declined to be weighed at the Senior Bowl. We all know he’s slight. Scary to think he’s more slight than we even thought.

I never saw this, what I saw was he "did not commit to the QB position"

I'm seeing mocks of us taking a QB MUCH more now. Fields or the guy from BYU. There is a guy on YT that does about a 20 minute breakdown of the college QB's. He is really into Fields(after Lawrence of course). He is fair, doesn't just show highlights,he shows stuff he thinks needs work. So it seems to me it's 1)Trade Wentz-keep Ertz and find a new franchise QB or 2) Keep Wentz then draft Pitts and trade Ertz 3) Trade Ertz AND Wentz, get a new QB and Pitts(or smith). I watched the senior bowl. I can pass on Smith now because I have alot of respect for those "other" WR's. Grimes is a very good WR. He is from FL(Gators). Would not shock me at all to see Pitts and Grimes taken and I would be fine with both. Pitts is a stud and Grimes is underrated(If this guy falls into 5 he's MINE).You can bash Fields, but he has a cannon arm, but also has a feel for "touch" when a laser/ rifle shot would surely be dropped. Number 3 listed would obviously save the most cap going forward

A few pounds less than Djax. Everyone MUST find a reason to NOT take a guy. If they go that route,Smith, Chase, Waddle all good WR's. I'm waiting to see if Grimes gets a bump up the boards after his senior bowl appearance

Eagles add Jason Michael as their TE coach. Jason worked with Nick Sirianni in Indy past 2 seasons. He has coached Antonio Gates, Delanie Walker, and Eric Ebron. Also has experience as OC and QB coach.

Everyone saying our staff has no "experience" I tend to disagree. The fact alot got PROMOTIONS just tells me their respective careers are  moving FORWARD. Noone has stalled at their current spot, like Duce, who merely made a lateral move to the same position. Most we selected are "up and comers"

Unless he has T Hill speed, I would not draft a small WR this early. He may work out terrific, but you really want to draft a 170-180 pound WR at #6? I would much rather go Chase in this scenario. If not Chase grab BPA. Pretty simple, no?

I am not convinced we go QB round 1. Do all of you feel this QB class is that strong? Maybe we wait until we see if Hurts is the QB for the future before committing to another. We may have to see if Wentz is here or not. No guarantees that another team offers what HR is asking for. Just too many questions that need to be answered before we jump into the QB pool.....

Yes, but all hove no experience at their current positions. That scares me. At least if you have a DC with experience, he can delegate the positional coaches there approach for their new position. What we have now is a cluster f#@k. LB, CB and DC are all new at their jobs as are WR, RB and OC on the other side. On top of that we have a new HC to oversee these? YIKES!

https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/eagles-position-examination-running-backs-miles-sanders-needs-to-step-up I had Gainwell on my mock. I think he would be an excellent pick. I would also pick up Mack(93 called it). Unfortunately,if we wanted Gainwell, you are probably looking at spending our 3 pick. This would give us Sanders,Mack,Gainwell,Scott and pick your remaining PS RB(probably Huntley)

Welp, I'm sure Howie is burning midnight oil figuring out the different scenarios(like we are). I was surprised so many teams went after Stafford and the insane deal the Rams gave up,so that renewed my sense of HOPE. I think the Lions got a 1 and another 1 next year? I would be thrilled for just a 1 this year for Wentz. I can't wait around to see if Hurts is good. In this scenario I will draft one and let them battle it out in camp. IF hurts is so good,he will win the job outright(or vice versa) but I'm tired of "waiting around" Let's be PRO active instead of RE active

Excellent FRESH ideas!!! EVERYWHERE!!! maybe it was time. if you're going to do a rebuild, may as well "git 'er done" and let these guys grow togehter just like the players

Smith won the Heisman. If he had durability issues, he would not even have been nominated. He's 3 pounds less than Djaz(WHEEEEE) and other the playing HERE, I think Djax had some nice seasons? Smith has some NFL polished amazing moves and Alshon is not SLIGHT but he's never on the field either
