I was suggesting if we got a first rounder for Wentz...taking a CB. So moehrig would stay the same

I love all the mixed reporting on Eagles and Wentz none of these talking heads got a clue what is going on behind closed doors.

Then you are putting all your eggs in Hurts basket. I would rather have a competition there

We’d all rather have competition. Of coarse look how drafting Hurts turned out. I feel pretty safe with Hurts. Not thinking he’s Mahomes but he’s been tested about as much as a guy can be at this point in his career. Maybe bring in a vet like Tyrod to back him up.

If Wentz is traded think you have to seriously look at QB. Might be tough but I’d even call up the Jags see if there is anyway to swing Wentz Ertz and whatever to try and get #1 pick for Lawrence.

That would be a blockbuster of all blockbuster sim to no chance in hell for it to happen but can dream lol

Probably Rosie spreading the rumors to make sure the market is perfectly primed. Good idea. One thing Rosie seems to be good at is the art of the deal.

Another trade scenario that could benefit both sides is a Wentz for Watson trade. Teams Swap franchise QB likely some other stuff involved not sure how they could work the contracts but show they can get it to work for everyone.

Houston is in a bad spot with no 1st rounder plus Watson killing his value telling everyone he wants out.

You have much more knowledge of the draft than I do other than possibly the first round pick. I still like Parsons if he is sitting there though. if not him, BPA.... Probably in the minority....For all others I will defer....

Teddy Bridgewater, Garrapolo, Fitzpatrick, Winston....heck the backup in LA Wofford(?) Darnold, Alex Smith....I’m sure I’m forgetting somebody. There are options out there. Garrapolo likes porn stars and has injury issues but....Wentz has injury issues and is an uncoachable Primma Donna that players don’t want to follow.

LOL

The smoke's really thick this am. Read one "report" where the talking head reaffirmed a "report" by yet another talking head who admitted not actually knowing a damn thing - then people feed on it, lol!

The Watson "value" is way different as he's coming off a good season and his outlook is great. The closer to the new league yr and money comes due, the less Houston will get for him. Still expect a lot of competition for his svcs. Read where he mentioned the Jets as a place he'd like to go to. They have good cap room and a lot of draft capitol, so expect as long as they're in the ballpark, that's where he ends up.

Why spend more money making the same mistakes again? We could have 3 rook QB's ALL on rook contracts for 3-4 years and I can spend my money elsewhere

If we traded Wentz and opted not to draft a QB I’d look at Brissett as competition for Hurts.

He knows Siri and the system will be cheap and actually was a solid starter when thrust into action after luck just retired on them.

Interesting.... originally, I was thinking the Eagles will now be locked into not being able to add more salary.  But for 2021, Watson only makes $10.54 mil ... the Eagles could sprad that out over 5 years ... to bring that down to about $3 mil.    Then the monster hits come the next few years, where the Eagles will have cap space.    The only issue from Houston standpoint, they are already over the cap, go even further by $5.66 mil trading Watson, then they have to absorb Wentz's salary of $25.4 mil... which if they do the same and spread it out over 5 years, adds another $6 mil.

It's different with this trade as both teams take on more cap hits when they are already in bad cap shape... compared to Detroit / LA trade where they both can actually save cap space after redoing the deals for Stafford and Goff because there was actual cap savings to start with for each team by unloading their QB.

It could happen... I just think Indy is the easy choice here.   Reich was the guy who loved Wentz the most out of the 5 guys who went on his interview... (Lurie, Howie, Doug, Reich, Flip)  He also wasn't around for all the stuff surrounding the horrible human being that is Wentz (which our fans are falling for it, similar to DeSean in the gang)  They have cap space, and a low enough spot in the draft where it is an easy decision.

The Eagles have zero credibility around the league at the moment... fire Doug and the QB still can't wait to leave... yet Howie still here???  Hot mess., someone will come in and take Wentz at the bargain for sure.  With QB you look at ceiling, it's a swing for the fence type of position, none of the other guys here came close to MVP level, very easy to have teams think with decent talent and better coaching Wentz can play well for them.  Indy is the easy one, considering success with their last 2 QBs who are no where near that talent level.

Local headlines... all about Hurts giving money to a family, all about him saying the right things...etc.   Welcome to the " Hurts wagon " baby!!!    While you make sense... you are missing it from Howie's point of view, he needs to go all in somewhere doesn't he.... if we keep going " well if this doesn't work out ...etc"   then what do you get, tell me the team that won a title doing things that way?   And what does it say about Howie, how many premium picks do you invest in a QB... while having Fulgham and Singleton your best players at those spots?

Yes, you have to go all in with that style of running QB.  That's why I laugh at the idea of QB competition between 2 guys with different styles... dumbest thing ever, because you have all your skill players doing different things with each QB.   Brissett or another read option college running type QB, keeps things the same for the rest of the other 10 guys on offense.

Maybe I’m speculating to much and over thinking this. But if we trade Wentz boom he gone. Reports said big reason for Doug being fired was the direction he wanted to go especially at QB favoring Hurts over Wentz. Lurie of course stated to prefer Wentz.

If that is remotely true I can’t then image Lurie is ok going into the season with Hurts as the QB and I’d image we go QB high likely with our first pick wouldn’t shock me if we also tried to trade up to secure that pick. Packaging our 6th and the pick from Wentz to do so.

Watson killing his value? Are you kidding? Feels like it could be the biggest trade in league history

Welp guess I’ll deep dive into QBs now who we could take in the top 10.

Fields, Wilson, Mac, Lance(though highly doubt we would get another NDSU QB). And Trask(though pretty sure he is being projected as a round 2 guy right now.

my early prediction is we are high on Wilson. I’ll make my informed pick later lol when I can really watch these guys

Not even in the slightest it not hard to see a team not offering up remotely as much if they already know the player doesn’t want to be there and won’t play for the team.

Will Watson still command a decent haul yea probably but nowhere near his worth.

As far as Wentz, the prevailing wisdom seems to be that the Eagles want to keep him, but he doesn't want to be here.

As far as drafting a qb, that depends on what they think of the qbs available this year and what they think of Hurts. But this is where things get pear shaped. I don't see how they could go from valuing Hurts high enough last year to draft him in the second round to not trusting him to start this year. And if they truly did miss that badly on the Hurts pick, then how can we have any confidence that they will get the pick right this year, when there is significantly less info available on the top prospects.

To me, they would be much better served in sticking with Hurts and adding talent around him. As bad as our drafts have been, it can only get worse if we start mortgaging our future to blindly trade for Justin Field or Zach Wilson, instead of giving Hurts the help he needs to be successful.

Wentz was a running type QB that threw for less yards than Hurts in college. Running was almost the only thing Wentz did well this season.

All that matters is are more than one team willing to trade for Watson? The answer is yes....at least half the league. Huge price will be paid if Houston makes a move. Guarantee
