I don't see how they could go from valuing Hurts high enough last year to draft him in the second round to not trusting him to start this year. And if they truly did miss that badly on the Hurts pick, then how can we have any confidence that they will get the pick right this year, when there is significantly less info available on the top prospects.

To me, they would be much better served in sticking with Hurts and adding talent around him. As bad as our drafts have been, it can only get worse if we start mortgaging our future to blindly trade for Justin Field or Zach Wilson, instead of giving Hurts the help he needs to be successful.

My take again is

A. FO already knew what was likely to go down with Wentz if they could repair it or likely to deal him don’t think this alter much sure I think they wanted to keep him but that different from know what was going to happen.

B. I think Doug influenced Hurts pick a lot and think it was likely Doug opted to want to go with Hurts as his QB which didn’t mesh with Lurie and the FO hence not hard to image us not being high on Hurts.

C. Whether I agree or not with going QB is moot but with my think we are not high on Hurts and Lurie belief in QB position I see us going QB high in the draft.

All that matters is are more than one team willing to trade for Watson? The answer is yes....at least half the league. Huge price will be paid if Houston makes a move. Guarantee

I’ll guarantee that the price for Watson will shock everyone and be far less then most are imaging

Bidding war means that him wanting to leave just starts the auction

Wouldn’t shock me if it’s something along the lines of Donald and two or 3 firsts similar to that of the Stafford trade

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did. The theory there being how often do they draft in the top 10? That said, i think they will be drafting in the top 10 (and high up at that) for the next couple of years at least.

As far as Wentz, the prevailing wisdom seems to be that the Eagles want to keep him, but he doesn't want to be here.

As far as drafting a qb, that depends on what they think of the qbs available this year and what they think of Hurts. But this is where things get pear shaped. I don't see how they could go from valuing Hurts high enough last year to draft him in the second round to not trusting him to start this year. I agree with this. Weren’t we all just watching what just happened? You would be sinking your confidence in Hurts. Guy hasn’t even had a chance. He’s shown great leadership and athleticism....if nothing else. Let’s see what he can do behind an Oline that actually blocks.

Half the league wants Watson as their QB. Several of the other half are wrong. Why would the price go down with sixteen suitors?

Also it was reported Lurie told Pedey to bench Wentz at least the game before he actually did. Make of that what you will. (Or at least permission to bench Wentz)

If you give Hurts a shot and he sucks....you should be drafting high.

I personally feel like we already saw Hurts floor. He can only go up from here. His floor wasn’t even that bad. Mostly he just needed help....namely blocking...maybe a little D.

Just dreaming, but let's say we traded Wentz to the Colts for a first and a third. We could have a draft that gets us Chase at 6, Jaycee Horn at 21, Carlos Basham at 37, Paris Ford at 70 and Jabril Cox at 85. That gives us a true #1 WR and a lot of young talent for the defense.

His floor was pretty bad actually wasn’t much of a passer and that got exploited and it how much can he develop as a passer. On top of that watching Lamar and the Ravens and how they struggle come playoff time doesn’t give me a ton of confidence either and Hurts isn’t nearly the athlete as Lamar. I’d even go as far to say Lamar was a superior passer with better arm talent coming in.

Now can Hurts win yea I think so just not sure he is the answer at QB but hey would love for him to completely prove me wrong

Tyrod is a good fit for us. A bit similar to Hurts in many aspects. Should be a very affordable vet.

They will be regardless bud. This roster is just not very good and I think higher up are fully expecting some pain.

I disagree that half the league wants Watson. First, half the league does not need a QB.... Why take on that salary when you can draft a QB for much less. So I figure maybe 3-4 teams at most are interested. Eagles not being one of them...

My thoughts were similar. I stated Pitts,Farley, Moehrig and Cox. I was just thinking if we added the Pats first.

So why did everybody seem to freak out? This was a .500 team at best to begin this terrible season.

49ers, Bears, Detroit, Washington, Philadelphia, Dallas, Ny Giants.... that’s 7 and I’m still just in the NFC

Deshaun Watson is sick! If I’m Green Bay I’d even be thinking about it. Which brings up another elephant. Supposedly Rodgers really wants out. So we need to strike this deal before both those two deals shake out.

Detroit isn’t interested they got Goff they not looking to trade again... NY I see as doubtful. Philly is iffy. Bears are reported to be interested in Wentz but sure Watson as well.

Id cut that down to maybe 2-3 teams because it also has to be who Watson agrees to go to. I think at best maybe 10 teams and that’s high are legit bidders more likely around the 3-5 mark

What QB would you rather have than Watson going forward? The list is Mahomes. That’s it!

Sure everybody would choose Goff over Watson 😂🤣😂

And yeah the Giants would never choose Watson over Jones. What a dumb move that would be pffftt

Make a case for Lamar, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert especially on a rookie deal, Wilson, Murray

Lmao 😂 just because you would do it doesn’t mean the team will... Your drumming up your own thoughts not what the team is likely to do.

Only thing is...the East sucks. You give me the three or four studs we are mocking....get some guys back healthy...our young guys take another step forward? We could win the East.

That’s seems like the possible list. Everybody else wants to make a deal for Watson. How much is the question?

Ok let’s go with your 16 which is stupid high and is false number. Of those 16 teams which ones would Watson be interested in going to doesn’t matter if all 16 teams are interested they aren’t part of the bidding war if Watson says no he isn’t going to them.

Reality is 10 teams at best and of those 10 teams likely all 3-5 will be serious bidders

Lmao rumor mill is running wild on the bears pushing hard for Wentz

I think many thought going in to the 2020 season we were in good shape. I don't think anyone thought Doug and Carson (and of course others) were quite as bad as they were.
