Except these unconfirmed sources keep appearing throughout his career. I was pissed at Alshon and Nelly for those reports. But I wasn’t privy to everything going on. Now we are let in on the bigger picture of things. In hindsight we needed more of these anonymous reports. Maybe Wentz ego could have been put in check. Maybe the FO would realize their enabling was hindering progress being more important than placating their star.

And you’re it privy to what is going on now lmao just more stories have. O clue what is really happening behind the scenes. What really was going on between Wentz amd Doug just more media speculation that fans act like is facts

It just isn't the kind of situation you'd want to build around? We have a whole new set of coaches and we are going to bring back a disgruntled player? Plus what kind of message does it send if he starts over Hurts?

Tra Thomas made an interesting point a few weeks ago when he said most of the players don't really care who the qb is. He was responding to a question about what happened when McNabb was benched. And he said they simply said okay and worried about their assignments for the week.

As far as Carson being disgruntled, if he is that unhappy, he can give the money back.

There's no way the Eagles should feel any pressure to trade him. He's not going to be doing situps in his driveway. He's not going to be trashing Hurts. He's going to show up and work hard. The downside to keeping his is being 100 percent driven by the media.

I believe Wentz has no interest in being a backup QB is what I believe as the report stated. Which probably got taken completely out of context to make a story from nothing

The real question is how disgruntled is Wentz really??? Nobody knows all we know is the stuff the media is feeding us with no real confirmation.

As for Hurts I’ve stated don’t see him as our starting QB in 21 regardless of what happens with Wentz. Honestly wouldn’t shock me to see both Wentz and Hurts traded.

Wentz in the coming days then Hurts camp/preseason(if we have a preseason).

True. It’s all rumor. Leaked on purpose to play the media. From all sides. But one story we heard was coaches said during interviews the perception was Lurie and Rosie viewed things as a fix Wentz situation. Now things are a trade Wentz situation. Seems logical to conclude that’s because Wentz is demanding a trade.

Lmao 😂 would never happen love when we try and act like players will give money back they have no reason to. Wentz loses leverage first off giving money back.

Now Wentz can do things to aid a trade if he knows a trade is coming push his guarantees back rework deal for a new team etc.

but he isn’t just going to give money back to the Eagles.

I believe(all any of it is is opinion) that Pedey could have mended the Wentz situation. But he needed the power to let Wentz know the buck stops with the HC. Nowhere fit the Primma Donna to turn to go over the coaches head.
Feels like this has been backed up by other reports. One being Malcolm Jenkins take on it.

Or it’s Howie playing the trade market. What better way to keep value high on a player then saying we want him he is our guy. We are going to fix Wentz we have no intention of trading him. We are talking to coaches to fix Wentz.

Then listen to calls that come in

And it also sounded like Doug put himself in that spot by not wanting to be a real coach and the firm hand to Wentz making it Reich and Flip.

I find it curious how the two guys that actually coached Wentz and challenged him are also the two teams highly interested in him.

I believe Wentz has no interest in being a backup that simple. Think of Wentz knows for fact he can come in compete and have a far shake at the starting job he is fine. Though he will still want out of he ends up losing(which honestly don’t see happening if it’s him vs Hurts)

So is moving up from 38 to 22 what we desire to get our QB? Basically NC and I have a different spot we think that is. He thinks Trask and Jones are gone before the second round. I was thinking maybe...maybe Trask falls to about 38. So is this a preemptive trade back up into the first round to select our QB?

So your take  is he’ll compete but will only accept being the winner of said competition

More or less I don’t see Philly wanting a 35m backup QB either so

So no need to leave. Siri said competition at every position. Wentz should be happy....if your opinion is to be believed

He would gain leverage if he did that. Right now, what leverage does he have in demanding a trade? But if he says he will give them $20 million back if they trade him, that is the definition of leverage.

But they’ll pay that for a guy to not be here?

Considering there is no confirmed trade doubtful and if Wentz is trade we going QB top 10 guaranteed

Your paying me 34m is my leverage lol I’ll sit be the backup for 34m

To me that’s what we are talking about if we switch our second for the Bears first. It’s for a QB at 22 (or wherever they are)

Save a Mil and by 22-23 he basically off the books

We pay that money regardless. How is his salary going to be used as leverage when we have to pay it whether he is here or not?

Wentz has zero leverage beyond whining to the media, which his camp has done repeatedly. But that's his one bullet. The gun is empty. The only way he gains more leverage at this point is to give money back. If he's not willing to do that, he has nothing left to force a trade.

If it isn’t for a QB at 22....then it’s pretty underwhelming thought.

They are at 20 and we taking QB in the top 10 and have an extra 1 for another player

20...thanks for that

Except you in theory at least you get a better player round 1 with the 5th year option and still get your QB in the top 10
