The kick was made we talk about how Foles only put up 16 points.  Which I guess is better than 30 points in 2 games?

Vs the best defense. What’s your point? We won! Wentz had a losing record that season. I was just clarifying that it wasn’t Wentz that won the playoff game on 2018 which TD mistankely posted. We demand better TD 😂

Most GMs do a decent job with contacts. How many teams are in true cap trouble every year? How many teams are over the cap every year at the deadline? Is he bad with contracts? No. Is that reason to keep him? No.

Why we need to hire a REAL GM,which Lurie refuses to do. if you had 2 guys and you wanted to address constant cap issues you KNOW where to go. Right now Lurie can't do that because he wont take Howies GM job away.

BTW this team also has a "president" Anyone know who that is without looking it up? Lose the president, hire a real GM. Same money, better structure. Go from there

He also had a nice S&C staff. Don't recall many injuries when he was here. The team sucked, but they all played

High octane in shape and durable. Chipper was good for that

I deserved that :worthy:

Lurie should be owner/president. Howie should do contracts and hire a damn GM who knows FOOTBALL

So the GM should be in charge of gameday catering, charitable foundations, facilities management, security, team parking and public relations as well as the draft and contracts?

He's not terrible with contracts. Noone makes the perfect contract. I have NP with him as the contract guy, like I said my prob is Howie the GM guy and how best to CYA than be those 2 guys rolled into one? In other words Howie the contract guy covers for Howie the GM guy and vice versa. Thats why I have pounded(many moons) to split that up. NOW you have 2 guys and you can blame ONE if things go wrong. Howie is not going to blame himself no matter which hat he has on

Rosie the contract guy has been terrible. That’s why we such and are capped out. We’re paying for play of 2017,18,19 more than 2020,21 what have you.

LMAO I can hire a team coordinator to do all that for MUCH less than president.

I need this overpaid job right here right NOW!!! President has never been part of the draft that I am aware of

Smolenski

Yes we are giving Smolenski a pass. He doesn’t crave the limelight with interviews so he stays behind the scenes. Actually a huge force in the organization I think. He’s definitely been a part of any interviewing and decisions.

Nope that was Howie the GM making BAD GM decisions ,then signing those bad decisions. If we were playing today you wouldn't be worried about Wentz's cap hit lol

So you are going to hire a coordinator to be in charge of a $5 billion organization?

A person who has to approve lease agreements with the city, negotiate contracts with vendors and the thousand other things that a team has to do behind the scenes to function properly?

I mean, maybe the guy who made enough money to buy an NFL franchise has the first clue in how to set up a billion dollar organization.

Maybe ,I dont really know what he does or doesn't do, just seems redundant they way things are set up. SO the president does the interviews and the hires? I thought that was Howie?

Of coarse o wouldn’t worry about any if it if we’re in the SB. But we’ve been hampered these last couple offseason s because he backloaded contracts so heavily. Mortgaged the future for yesterday. The GM part he’s been bad in also. My answer is both. Contracts haven’t been good. Player choices haven’t been good. Uber double fail!

Like I said not on the inside, can't say what his role. I would set up my staff differently

No, the team president doesn't do that. He handles the business side of the organization, not player contracts or evaluation.

Here's a handy reference guide of the people who work for the eagles and their job titles.

SO when we took these cap hit type contracts on ,you could predict the future would fall apart at that point?

It’s a big business. Also people don’t understand all the responsibilities of a HC either. They just think it’s about when to call a TO. So much more involved than just some x and o. Face of the franchise to speak at tons of environments.

Someone just said he does interviews

I'm just trying to figure out how the president and Howie fit together and if they both have hands on to decision making processes as far as personnel go

The trifecta of non football guys. Really a very brilliant guy. He has been huge with all the charitable things. So I’m not touching dogging him out. Huge job I want nothing to do with. I like football more than accounting.

Judging by the set up here the president is higher up than Howie (because Howie is an exec VP) Therefore is he(smolinski) the one that insists Howie have both positions? Or is it Lurie?

OK thanks that's what I wanted to know. So none of the top 3 guys are "football" guys.

I predicted that when you sign a huge contract but only take a tiny cap hit the initial year the piper would have to be paid. That time is now.
