I am not sure what the team is thinking, but I would extend Slay because he can always move to safety if he loses a step. I would also extend Hargrave and Graham because they play fewer snaps, so they have longer careers. I would trade Ertz. I would probably trade Barnett as well. He has done enough that he will get $10 million a year, but I don't want to pay him that. Sweat, Graham, a rookie and a cheap vet would be fine with me for next season.

Hargrave and Graham I’m against. We hired Barnett’s Dline coach so he seems like an easy new contract. He hasn’t done enough for the fifth year option. But  don’t think his new contract would be at that value yearly. So we’d cut his cap hit down from 10 mil to like 1.5 mil. Slay is tricky. I expect he will get reworked though....like it or not. Ertz gone...agree. Need that draft capital. Looking for a fourth rounder.

Seems we draft alot of guys, they get hurt, then we have no clue what we have because we can't see any development because they DONT PLAY(Dillard and Barnett come to mind)

My guess is that this season will serve as a wakeup call for Lurie, and he will step back and let the personnel department do their job without his interference, especially since I think the Wentz mess is his fault.

did you mean Howie?

yeah,I just wish Lurie would go farther and strip Howie of making draft picks or FA picks. Let a football guy do that then tell Howie here's my guy make his contract work

I’ve believed he’s great at the art of the deal. So high pressure trades and the draft should be his time to shine. It’s been known he’s not a football guy. Brought in Joe Douglas exactly for this reason. Then brought in Dorsey. That didn’t last long. So just need great scouting getting into Rosie’s ear. That’s where it all begins. Let him manage the draft and work the trade deals. But get him the right info to work with.

OK semantics. What I mean is I don't care if Howie is physically making the picks, but they should be picks made by a football mind not an accountant mind. So same thing I was saying

SB party, guests arriving soon. I have to pull for the Bucs by default. I just hope it's a good game. I hate blowouts lol

I really like Moehrig at S in round 2. Think he and Slay could seal off one side lol

COVID scouting.....no idea how that’s been barely possible

God...if we could have just got fournette to come here. Sanders and Fournette with Scott sprinkled....we could have just used an occasional pass by the QB to win.

Fournette

Overrated lol

Scott was just as god if not better

Totally disagree. But it’s more about the complimentary style of Fournette to Sanders and Scott

  • Author

Not too mention...when Sanders was hurt Fournette could have taken the lead role...just like he did for Tampa

  • Author

Actually I have to agree with you BG. On the overrated part. Fournette hasn’t produced near the level expected in his career. I was thinking for the 2.5 mil he signed for this season.

It isn’t opinion it’s fact look at the stats

I will add that maybe Fournette compliments Sanders better as a bigger back bit stats wise he is on par with Scott in a backup role

Bringing in Tom got them Fournette, Gronk and Antonio Brown...crazy how much control the players can really have.

Should AR pull Mathieu? KC killing themselves w/ penalties.

Why we need to hire a REAL GM,which Lurie refuses to do. if you had 2 guys and you wanted to address constant cap issues you KNOW where to go. Right now Lurie can't do that because he wont take Howies GM job away.

He's not much better than every other GM.
