Greg Ward, Jalen Reagor and Jalen Hurts played high school and college ball against each other in Texas. Long time friends.

And Carson Wentz put Greg Ward on the map in the nfl and has been Wentz favorite target outside of Ertz.... Going with he is fine with Wentz

Rosie didn’t want Wentz so bad he gave him a huge mega contract

I had the bar set at a second round pick for Wentz. He just hasn’t been that good. Injuries have been the worst part. Couldn’t finish 2017,2018 or 2019 seasons. Couldn’t finish 2020 because of performance. So he only finished one season...his rookie year.

He’s been a coach killer. Potential and talent...not so much results

One report that seemed like the reporter was just guessing at something. Pedey and Lurie wanted Wentz to be fixed. That would mean Pedey had to be in charge with the buck stopping with him. Rosie wants to remain in charge. Just that simple.

Reports were that coaching interview-ies were informed the mission was fix Wentz. That has nothing to do with Pedey. That’s Lurie and Rosie.

We're in trouble for a while.

I already have myself well set in a self - projection as last place in NFCE. I see the east as:

1 - NYG

2 - WFT

3 - ★

4 - Iggles (UGH!)

Here is a thought that nobody wants to say out loud,  but I think is obvious.

You have Reagor, Watkins, Hightower,  Ward and Fulgham.  5 guys 25 and under, with their cultural background.

You put them in a locker room,  do they gravitate toward the 28 year old married dude from North Dakota that looks like Wentz.... or a 22 year old dude like Hurts?

Another question.  How many QBs come into the league fitting Hurts " social profile" , drafted early...are there to be " backups"   ???

You see where I'm getting at, pretty much an obvious thing if you bring in 3 rookie WRs and add them to an already young group,  wouldn't it be common sense Hurts fits in better socially with those guys?   Things that the GM needed to realize prior to making the selection... on top of the completely different style of offense needed for both.   It's not that another QB was brought in via high draft pick.  It's the exact profile of the QB and the fit if the correct roster ( which in addition to the #1 reason for lack of success of not being very good)  was not putting Wentz in a good spot.  Bad roster = less chance to succeed.  Lack of success = back up being more popular.   Then you add in the common sense social/ cultural backgrounds.   Obvious bad situation.  Especially when dude fitting Wentz profile was "paid" after being drafted #2... and guy like Hurts was passed on by every team in the league and missed out on $$.   Not hard to see where the path was leading.  Set the one guy up for failure... and boom, can of worms opened.     Put a good roster around the guy, then never start down this path where any idiot could see natural gravitation towards the 2nd guy.

It's a situation Howie created and has to go all in now.  If Hurts does not end up having more success than Wentz, Lurie should give Howie the boot.  Doug and Wentz were tied together,  Howie and Hurts are more so.   If we draft a QB early, Howie is admitting he was wrong.  But the spin and the excitement of the draft always gets the simpleminded Eagles fan off of looking at the big picture mistakes made by the GM... they are masters of PR.

Joe Stop....you Stretching the BS. "The black players couldn't associate well with Wentz. The WR 's relate better to Hurts. What do you mean With their "Cultural Background"  ....U mean they Black....SMH...Stop . So it's is a Conspiracy  against Wentz in a league Dominated at many of the top positions by Black players....Wherever Wentz go... there S/B competition, maybe they could assemble an All white team so Wentz can get along culturally hahahahaha. You Serious. Stop with the Wentz apologist BS .

Honestly Joe there is a lot more I would like to say to you...Your attempt to be politically correct. At least when  FL/NC and I had our differences of opinions he let it fly. Kept it real....Wentz deserves MORE privilege according to you ....After all Hurts is just BU material right....aaaahhhn Joe I have enjoyed reading your analysis on many Eagles topics disagreed but respected many of your points of view.

Tough week in America Lots of Privileged people are being force fed truths...they can no longer deny. America Use to demand Honesty. Maybe that what they told everybody else to be truthful.  I have loved Wentz as a player and had high hopes for him as an Eagle. I hope he lands somewhere where he doesn't have to worry about earning the position ... or compete with players brought in to be Backups...he will have the job Day 1...I hope it's Indy, with Reich. Why compete when you shouldn't have to.

LOL yeah I also picked up that we would be thrilled with "mediocre"(once again)

I also think Wentz would relish in returning and lighting it up so he can say yea this guy wanted to trade me. Make Howie look stupid

Basically think Wentz wants to make Howie look bad no matter what happens

SO if Wentz makes Howie look stupid, that makes Lurie look more stupid for trusting him(Howie). Just give me a team of guys that wants to play together, somehow we managed to do that in '17(accidentally or by luck). They were also having FUN too!!!! Give me that team back of guys who bust a nut for the next guy, no excuses, no BS who didn't care what your contract amount was.Guys who enjoy playing the game, boo boo's and all. I remember playing field ball and if I didn't have a cut or bruise, I wasn't trying hard enough. All my friends felt the same. We'd beat each other up, laugh about it and next time those guys you ridiculed were your teammates lol. But you got bruised up for them then!!! Gimme the blue collar "we're from Philly and we fight" team again. And if we lost the game, by GOD the opponent knew they were in a dogfight and they would feel it the next day. We lost our rep for being tough. I don't even care about the record at this point, I want the PRIDE/RESPECT back.

What if Pitts is there???

Then that's a great situation to be in (as long as they pick the right option). I like Pitts A LOT so hey I' be happy with any of the those 3.

AJ Feeley was traded for a second round pick. Kolb was traded for a second and DRC. So Wentz value to the league seems to be right around the same as these two...maybe slightly more.

Maybe I think differently but wouldn’t you rather have the best WR in a strong class then just the top CB because it’s weak????

Think round 2 is the money spot for a CB.

Though I can’t foresee going into the year with Hurts and reports are so conflicting on who wants what. Doug wanted Hurts FO wanted Wentz then it’s Howie wanted Hurts and Lurie/Doug wanted Wentz.

id still say if we trade Wentz you gotta go QB top 10

So, Howie turned down Colts offer of 2- second round picks and a fourth. At least that was the rumor. So, if we believe the rumors and the bears are the front runners, then they must have offered a first and a second round pick. If this is the case, I do not understand why Howie does not pull the trigger! That is probably not what Wentz will be worth when we look back in 10 years, but it is as much as we are going to get. Looking at this draft. Getting pick 6 and 20 would go a long way improving our team. Probably wouldn't get the 2nd until next year, but that is probably OK. BG, I cannot argue taking a WR or Pitts instead of Parsons. I only know HR loves Penn State players. LEt's see what we get for Wentz and take another look......

Rumors have varied about the Bears offer. A second, Foles and another player seems believable. They need us to take Foles. They also would like us to take Cohen off their hands. He signed a decent contract. So we’d have to take that on. For taking Foles and Cohen....THEY should give US a fourth round pick. But you gotta be careful when you attach a pick to a team we’d be taking on baggage essentially from.

So the we’ll give you a higher pick if you take our unwanted contracts business....we aren’t in much of a position to do.

LB Roquan Smith is an interesting name mentioned somewhere involved with the Bears trade. He’d be real nice to add. He’s on the last year of his contract though. So are you trading for one season? Or thinking you can resign a quality LB for longer term gain?  Short term you at least get a decent Compensatory pick. Long term would have our LB room looking in good shape.

Agreed. We do not want to take on more contracts in our position. So, do you take the 2 second round picks and a forth from Indy? That would place Wentz in the other conference also, which is a plus....  Anyway, We really do not know what has been offered. Only speculation. I do think it happens real soon though. All teams involved need it to happen so all can make plans for upcoming draft and free agency....

I’m worried that offer was a conditional 2022 second round pick. Like if he was SB MVP we’d get a second. Starts every game we get a third. Drops to a fourth otherwise.

We got problems if Darnold, Bridgewater and the fifth QB taken in the draft are roadblocks to trading Wentz. Especially as time goes on. I really hope it isn’t that bad.

If we can’t get a 2021 first out of Wentz then everybody would rather have the six rookie QBs than Wentz. Has he sunk that far in everybody’s mind?

Agreed. If they trade Wentz i want him in the AFC

Not sure it is he has sunk that far as much as it is they know we want to unload him. They could be playing hard ball. I know Indy is a stiff negotiator based on previous years. I guess we need Chicago to make the offer of at least one first round pick plus something more so we can see what Indy counters with. The added contracts are worrisome though as you mentioned....

Or maybe they like the idea of having a QB on a rookie contract for the next 4 or 5 years.
