Or maybe they like the idea of having a QB on a rookie contract for the next 4 or 5 years.

That’s part of it. Has Wentz sunk that far to everybody?

Darnold you’d get for one year at 4.8 mil

There are eight  QBs in this class I’m seeing being ranked. The last two are day three. Jamie Newman and Kellen Mond. I’m sure each team has a guy they’d take in the seventh. But you basically have six guys. It’s easy to assume those six will go, at least, by early in the second round.

Then that's a great situation to be in (as long as they pick the right option). I like Pitts A LOT so hey I' be happy with any of the those 3.

Howie will find a way to F that up

AJ Feeley was traded for a second round pick. Kolb was traded for a second and DRC. So Wentz value to the league seems to be right around the same as these two...maybe slightly more.

Oh please, Wentz has more talent that these 2 COMBINED

So, Howie turned down Colts offer of 2- second round picks and a fourth. At least that was the rumor. So, if we believe the rumors and the bears are the front runners, then they must have offered a first and a second round pick. If this is the case, I do not understand why Howie does not pull the trigger! That is probably not what Wentz will be worth when we look back in 10 years, but it is as much as we are going to get. Looking at this draft. Getting pick 6 and 20 would go a long way improving our team. Probably wouldn't get the 2nd until next year, but that is probably OK. BG, I cannot argue taking a WR or Pitts instead of Parsons. I only know HR loves Penn State players. LEt's see what we get for Wentz and take another look......

It's early here, no rush, you give the Colts time to reconsider lol. Howie wants the most he can get like everyone else and many teams(like us) still in evaluation mode may decide they could use Wentz

I would take 2-2's and Brissett. We're gonna need a BU for Hurts anyway and our coach already knows him

LOL thats why I was shooting for a top QB pick. With that pick,Hurts and maybe Brady White as a UDFA,you now have 3 QB's you are paying ZIP for for at least 3 years I can add alot of FA pieces for 34 million bucks a year for the next 3 years, then again that is logical, so I withdraw my idea lol

Although a smaller deal, I believe trading Ertz,is more important as far as the draft is concerned. If we are NOT trading him, that would take the Pitts pick off the table for me. If we DO,then Pitts is my targeted 1 pick

Pittsburgh picks at 28. I would not be surprised if they took Trask. He is a "heavy" QB similar to Ben and A guy I would look at if we had a 20-22 pick. if the Squeelers want him, they can pay us LOL. At 28 still nice players there and an additional pick from them for the move up (maybe our missing 4th?)

Pats could take Watson and give up their 15 pick(and more) to Houston who would then be in a great spot with picks 3,15 in round 1

I can’t image Watson would go to NE especially when reports said he was mad about a NE guy being hired as GM

Houston traded the 3 pick to the Dolphins ages ago.

They have to move Ertz.  He is in the final year of his deal and surely wouldn't be here past the upcoming season, so may as well move him and get something in return for him now rather than walking at the end of the season and getting nothing.  Plus moving him frees up $4.7M in much needed cap space.

We would gain a 3rd in compensation so would not pay to get anything less.

JJ Watt cut by the Texans would Image he will try and go to the Steelers join his bros

You can’t beat DRC for potential, talent and athletism. Never really materialized though did it.

I know they mentioned wanting to play together in the nfl this likely the best and only chance they will have to do so even if it’s only a year

Side note the Pouncey Bros retired together as well

What if we kept Wentz for the draft...and took a QB at six. Only six QBs to think about in this draft. Gotta assume two go before six....at least. See how this is all lining up the QB market?  We just upped the market for Wentz.

Reading up on the Wentz trade. Colts mentioned they would need additional players to get closer to the Eagles demands. Heck, Toss in Ertz to grab a 1, a 2 and a 3!

  Done deal.

Lol.  No shot from Colts perspective.  Ertz has good shot at being released.  Similar to JJ Watt

Sounds like you are describing Siri’s offense. Short passing game designed to create YAC. Let the playmakers..ugh....make plays. But we have speed to take some shots with Hurts also. Sounds like a fit between coach system and QB

Yeah... if we had...uhhhh playmakers
