There is no extra cap relief if traded or released via Ertz.  No shot the Colts pay that price.   Ertz may land us a 5th round pick though.  But good shot he is released because the Eagles need to unload the contract by the start of the league year. No time to negotiate

lol if you say so.

There are at least 4-5 teams that could use Ertz. TE is not a deep position in this draft. After the top 3 are gone within the 1st two rounds it drops off allot from what the draft people tell us. So trading him is most likely what happens. Pittsburgh is a likely suitor and they may trade us a player we could use that is on the last year of his deal with Pitt. Washington is one That Pittsburgh would be willing to give up. He adds a solid WR for us and gives Pitt a solid TE for a couple years should they be able to extend his deal. IF not, Pitt may be willing to offer a 3rd or a 4th. But no way the Eagles just flat out release him. He has value and the Eagles know it.

Is think NE would be in the mix too.  BB always loved him some TEs.

Bills #1 TE had a whole 24 catches last season. Seattle has no one as Olsen is retired. Ertz is a very Good Friend of Aaron Rodgers. GB has Tonyan and that is it for TE

So adding in your NE that is at least 5 suitors for Ertz. They most definitely will get a 4th, possibly a 3rd if more than one team joins in...

Carolina, Jax,he would be a fit also in the Browns offense

Jay Valai knows what's up!

I like this mock draft.

Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft: Birds Tab Ja'Marr Chase In First Round (insidethebirds.com)

Chase (WR), Stokes (CB), Cox (LB), Sterns (S), Sample (DE), Mitchell (RB), Morrissey (C), McKoy (WR), Rochell (CB).

I would rather see them draft a TE instead of a second WR, but I see the potential for four day 1 starters and a rotational DE with the first five picks.

He was our newly hired assistant DB coach (hired Feb 3rd).

Could be again it’s were we differ.

Teams in our division none have a QB possibly Cowboys depending on Dak.

OL meh honestly think Eagles are in the best spot and that’s even if we lose Kelce/Brooks/Lane in the next two years.

WRs we are behind but Washington/NY both still have seriously lack here as well

TE- Geodart easily the best in the East

D-NY has no serious building blocks to speak of, Dallas in a similar hole. Washington really the only team built here and they have serious holes at LB and secondary.

So yea the bronze standard of winning east i don’t see as that unlikely like you seem to think but again I’d much rather have us end up bad and blow up to do a serious rebuild over mediocrity Hurts

We disagree about Hurts being mediocre.  I say a lot of work to get there. Plus I like the QB up in NY.  Barkley back, the young OL getting better and an added weapon.   I could see similar results to Buffalo.

Washington you add in a QB, decent level, it's a game changer, they will get a free agent.  Dallas has the offense, already half way ahead.

We have Goedert,  not a game changer, nice player around a subpar group at WR.   If we win this division before 2025, Sirianni should be coach of the year.

A late 4th round pick after a bunch of 3rd round comp picks?  You can take the Bills off the list, they like their young TEs, big guys that can block and good in the red zone.

Ertz one year left on his deal, lowers his value. Howie needing to save the cap space before the league year starts, all factors in.  The time to get the value was last year.

Seems he may have commitment issues.  He was hired by the University of Houston just days before being hired by us.

Not a good rep if you plan on moving up lol. Probably left Houston, got overwhelmed at the NFL level, but Houston already replaced him. Still not a great look for future employment

https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/2021-nfl-draft-scouting-report--wr-jaelon-darden     Tiny school UDFA. Small guy, limited use, but I'd bring him in to see what he's got. Explosive ST returner. Definitely not a draft pick here. I don't see him in the "middle" rounds as suggested lol, but as a UDFA I'd take a look

Hey, could be worse.  Urban Meyer hired a strength and conditioning coach (Chris Doyle) who resigned the very next day after taking the job.

Because of his reputation as a racist POS who mistreated black athletes. Meyer of course only said he knew him for 20 years...I guess that's all it takes for them good ol boys. Puts Urban Meyer in a new light for me. A shaded under the hood kind of light.

Funny that it is being reported as Doyle having resigned rather than being let go.  I guess Meyer took a lot of heat for the hire.  But why wouldn't you do your due diligence on these guys before hiring them??  Unless he didn't realize the heat he'd take?

If this guy is as bad as some people are saying how has he stayed a coach for so long?

I've never heard of him before this but we all know in the age of social media people can be accused of anything.

Somebody is just trying to save face with regard to the hire. When a whole bunch of athletes complain about the guy, it's usually more than a few players' sour grapes. College coaches who become legends like Meyer think they are infallible and untouchable. He is finding out that he is neither outside of that protected sphere he used to exist in. His friend of 20 years is unwelcome in the NFL.
