We clearly had a team that could win a playoff game in 2017,18 and 19.

???????    dude just played 28 regular season games in a row?    Now you are grasping at straws?     Lane isn't suspended for the 3rd violation yet is he???   LOL

Again, this is the issue of the GM creating the situation from start to finish.  All your ideas let him off the hook, yet  Nate Gerry bothers you....lol

No! Getting a later third round pick this year for Wentz...bothers me

Lmao it isn’t they are older by a year maybe.

then you have Herbig who is young played extremely well. mailats who did alright, Dillard a guy who was a first rounder hasn’t really played yet, Driscoll who played extremely well natraul progress says they all get better is my point

And again.... " extremely well for Herbig"  is a stretch.  He did less worse than expected.  If the OL is solid, not spectacular, the WRs are below average.... the RB and TE are nice players.... the defense average at best.... then the QB will have to perform well to get to 10 wins.

Lmao no he played extremely well add in the fact he got moved left to right and never played next to the same guys. And natural progress says he will get better and this was his first year starting hmmmm

LOL... clearly the 9 win teams are clearly playoff win teams.... nothing to do with a collapse of Minnesota and Dallas each year and a missed FG ... lol.  Clearly it's the QB and the coach's fault... good thing we got rid of them.  Now Howie gets to improve the team getting both of those problems off the team.   Wentz clearly will fail in Indy because he isn't good.  Going on a team that had good QB play, losing their LT and finished the mediocre 7th out of 16 teams... being Wentz isn't good, they should finish worse.

Otherwise... it's obvious if the Colts have better success than this year, it;s due to improved QB play from Rivers... and if we stay in the  basement, Wentz and Doug were not the problems.  Lets go all in now with these ideas.   Time will tell who is correct ..... just like Ziggy Ansah clearly being the better pick over Lane has shown over time.

But joe you don’t like to project players then when they do well you make up some lame excuse for why you weren’t wrong lmao

Team chemistry! You always forget. You need talent. But talent like Wentz and Ertz last season wasn’t a positive. We get a full team playing together.....we will be better.

Yes, for all those circumstances he did well.   Because expectations were low.  I like him, think he will be solid.   Just like I was hoping Fulgham would be solid,  didn;t get carried away with him being for sure a future stud.  Lets see what happens without getting carried away.  And my point, these other teams have guys they are high on too... they won't stay bad while we are the only one getting better.   It's all relative to the league.

I'm saying we get carried away with our own guys.   There is always a perception when things are expected to be bad, when they are solid, all of a sudden that player is great.  Let's see what happens before crowning any of these guys as great.   I also think we have been spoiled here with the run we just had as far as our lines (despite the injuries this past year)   And fortunate that our division has been awful prior.     Let's see what happens.  But at the moment we are every bit of a 4 win team.  Getting 10 wins with mediocre QB play is very unlikely.

Yes sir.... lets see what happens this year.  Looking forward to it.   Eagles 10 wins.... Colts not making the playoffs.  Chemistry is the key here.      Howie knows what he is doing.  100% all in on Howie.

We had bad chemistry...ended up at 4 wins.

Get rid of Wentz, Ertz, DJax, Alshon.....let’s see if we don’t win more than four games without all this ‘talent.’

I know you have been 100 percent all in on Rosie. What I’ve been complaining about the last couple seasons.

Actually Wentz was only part of three wins

Wow... lets celebrate 5 wins!     We can have success with that.    Meanwhile if Wentz loses in the SB, he will consider it a failure.   I guess it all depends on what your goals are in life.

Lets see in a year my man.   I want the cocky Ham in a year from now.  Because you know you are getting it big time here if it flips the logical way next year.   I'm not letting you get aaway with... " I called it Howie isn't good"  crap that you like to pull... you are drinking his kewel ade big time right now.

Never all in.... I said the team was built the right way that won the SB.   I pointed out the flaws in logic prior and afterwards.  Prioritizing backups instead of getting starters.  Over emphasis on positions over players.   The issue is... you think small.... nobody cares about Nate Gerry or Avante Maddox.... those are minor moves.  The big picture stuff is the issue.  Will always be the issue.   If you look back they made plenty of moves that didn't work out in 2016 and 2017.... but look at the timeline and you see how they prioritized the correct holes they needed to fill with investing the $$ and the picks.  While you worry about the guys like Shareef Miller and the QB they took in round 5 or 6.... i'm looking at them drafting backups and spending money on backups... as they let other positions go with scrubs. Now you let the coach and QB leave... with both smiling on their way out... that's a real issue.  Every team has their Nate Gerry small stuff that you complain about, but never these firsts.

The bigger issue to me is simple.  You did things your way for years, never worked.  You changed and it worked, now you go back to the old ways.  Including a running QB ... pure dumb.  We can't use ignorance as an excuse anymore, that goes away once you won, because you can't win without doing a lot of stuff correctly.  Now it's either pure stupidity of not realizing you did things differently and they worked... or just arrogance into thinking you can go back to things that didn't and get different results.   Or a little of both.  IDK,  but either way, we are in trouble.

Really? The guy that’s never won a playoff game considers not winning the Lombardi a losing season. Wentz is now the reincarnation of Tom Brady. Now I see your point

We could only get a third round pick for Wentz. Clearly league wide perception is not No Mas perception.

Athletes play to win... they need a chance to win.  If he has that chance and fails... yes he should look at it as a failure.   To me, better than playing for a team that is shooting to not be bad.  Again, lets see how it shakes out.  You may be very happy with your chemistry and 5 or 6 wins.  Different goals for different people.

Again... Tom Brady as you mentioned was drafted in round 6... Clearly not good with league wide perception.  But for your purposes... we can disregard the other pick.  Which to me all the picks are irrelevant.   Nobody will look back on this trade and say fair value.  Either the Eagles gave away a franchise guy or the Colts gave went with the wrong guy.  Again, the big picture view.  either way, one team is going to look stupid.   You are saying Howie is going to come out looking smart, being that you are a Howie guy.

You loved the Dead Money in 2017. Didn’t understand it effects your future more than your present. You love the heavily backloaded contracts by Rosie. Him working his ‘magic!’ Only taking minute cap hits on major contracts.

You don’t like the running QB. I get it. But with as talented as the defensive players have become (watch Bosa and Young) you need an athletic QB. Or let me say it really helps. You can spend whatever on Oline but it still is very beneficial to have mobility at QB. Russel Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Josh Allen... you seeing a trend? Hurts needs to develop his pocket passing. He already showed he can toss the ball for serious yardage in two of his three starts. But he gives the defense another dimension to have to prepare. His legs help his passing. I expect the Oline to be better and more cohesive. Dare I say build chemistry? Have talent? Yes. But five guys playing as one unit is what’s critical. Let’s see how well he can operate behind better protection. I’m thinking this kids going to be just fine!

Ham, again... stop thinking small.  The team needs to be built the right way.

1.  Get a starter before paying a 3/4 NT to come over and come out on passing downs.
2. Dream Team... get starting LB and S before paying backup DEs and trading and signing for your #2 and #3 CB.

The team in 2016-17 went right after their needs and addressed the holes first. then went to backups.    The dead cap and all the other side stuff is irrelevant.  Say they have all this cap space... does it change the fact they only drafted one pro bowl player since 2013?    It doesn't make them win if they have more cap space.... what it would do is prevent them from being bad. You can worry about the small stuff... big picture stuff is the issue.   Will always be the issue with this team.

And you can have " just fine"   again... I want to be disappointed by setting the bar high... not happy because we are " fine"

The one thing I will say about this trade is that it wouldn't have happened if the team didn't want Wentz gone as much as he wanted to go. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but my guess is that once Wentz lost his mental game, they decided to move on.

Now the decision comes down to Hurts or a draft pick. I wouldn't trade up if I were the Eagles as the price is likely to be pretty high. But Atlanta, Miami and Cincy aren't taking a qb, so there is a scenario where, if none of those teams trade back, a qb could be sitting there at 6 that makes sense. But I wouldn't give away the whole draft for anyone.

Yeah... Wilson has been on decline.... awful second half of the season... what is the issue he talked about?      His OL

The other guys... pass first guys with big arms.     Hurts at one point after playing a game and a half, had more rush attempts that completions.   He showed he can be really bad after teams took away his running.  You can go look at stats, you are smart enough to know that context matters.

But again... lets stop the talk and see what happens.  You have full faith Hurts will be great and Wentz was the problem.... Howie finally made the right moves in your eyes, getting rid of the coach and QB... the rest of the roster was not an issue.  So Wentz will fail in Indy because he is the problem.   Just go all in with your ideas.... and we can see what happens.   OWN IT!
