It would come done to the market for Ertz really I mean they could wait for us to cut him but no guarantee you get him then.

if you trade for him you secure him and at a reasonable TE cost now.

BG, I agree with your line of thinking. I think allot of teams would love Ertz plus the draft is not really stocked with TE talent. So, if you want to insure you have an upgrade at TE, what is that worth to you? I would think at least a 4th rounder. Or perhaps you trade a player of equal value but not in your plans. I read somewhere Pitt could send Washington. They do not want to deal with his new contract next year and they seem to always be able to draft WR's in the mid rounds.

So a TE is worth more than a QB???

No, but this TE is not as much an issue to keep as Wentz was plus more teams are going to be interested in Ertz. Also, we may also get a first for Wentz so cannot compare....

One issue regarding a possible Ertz trade is that the team has to be cap compliant by the start of the league year, and trades can't be made official until after the start of the league year. So if we trade Ertz, we will have to carry his cap hit until the new year starts. So unless a team really wants him, we would probably be better off just cutting him and getting the savings. If a team offers a fourth, I would probably take it, but it makes little sense to trade him for a pick higher than that.

Source tells me that DeSean Jackson will be released by Eagles

Super shocking new lol and seems to be that Alshon/Malik are designated June 1st cuts

First sign of a change from the Schwartz regime.

Footwork_King 🤴🏾 on Twitter: "The BEST News I heard all week! The Philadelphia Eagles are moving @AveryGenard to Linebacker this season. My dog should’ve been playing LB in the 1st place. Anyhow, proper preparation been on GO for Genard. #BirdGang🦅 https://t.co/xJnICVxHZo" / Twitter

If we move to a cover two defense, which we will, the linebackers will have more run/less pass responsibilities, as we will often have one less man in the box. Avery makes a ton of sense as a linebacker in that scheme.

Well, up $5M is not as bad as down, given Howie always assuming it goes up. Could also just be inflation lol

If we're not drafting Pitts at 6, I would keep him, which is another reason to draft Pitts at 6 and he is still my 6 pick. Now you can trade Ertz for whatever, get a pick somewhere and lose nothing and possibly make this position even more effective with Pitts/Geodert

Why???? Wouldn’t it come down to the offense we run and of Siri is the type of coach he is being said to be he can adjust to the talent we have 1 TE 2 TE 3 WR what ever.

im perfectly fine if we only have 1 good TE and a backup like Rodgers.

But at the same time I see us going QB in the first round but that is my opinion. Wouldn’t hate a Pitts/Chase pick

Randy Mueller on Twitter: "The amount of talent that will be on the street over the next few weeks will be unprecedented. Teams with cap space and a need to retool are licking their chops." / Twitter

19 teams are either over the cap right now or have less than $15 million, which is what you need to signed draft picks/last the season.

So teams like the Jags, Jets, Pats, Bengals, and Colts are the ones licking their chops the most.

How does the colts cap look after Wentx image around 11th ish now...

Jets and Jags are prime candidates to be worst to first teams.

How the heck do the cowpies have so much cap space with the huge contract to the duecebag RB? Ahhh, because Dax is not signed yet. So they don't have any money really.

No, but I would not give up on him either. To collect what we did is going to come crashing down on us. Wentz did not play well, but it was not entirely his fault either. This whole mess started when we drafted a QB in round two instead of another starting player. Heck, Hindsight would be a Guard, but Chinn would have been much better also. Plus Wentz is not looking over his shoulder...

AMEN!!

Every coach has to adjust to the talent they have. What is their other option?

Not being to adjust and the team stinking as a result?

This is pretty interesting.

2021 Free Agency: Ranking the NFL's top 150 free agents | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF

What's interesting is that the Eagles have only one player listed, Robey-Coleman, and that is probably based on his production before this year. I don't think we will sign any free agents, but guys like Richard Rodgers, Jalen Mills, Duke Riley and Hassan Ridgeway could be really cheap to bring back.

Mills in particular should be cheap as there are a ton of safeties hitting the market. I would bring him back as a corner on a one year deal, as I wasn't impressed with him as a safety. Riley is fine as a depth lb special teams guy. Rodgers is a fine TE2. Ridgeway is a fine DT4.

Forcing a scheme on players ie chip Kelly... Doug wasn’t the greatest at changing to the players either.

LOL then they didn't adjust

I’m the complete opposite of bring him back as a S because I was impressed with him at S was lack luster again when asked to play CB.

Get Mills an actual off-season as well to be a S think he will take off

True, I suppose.

I think in a two safety system he will be fine at CB. He will have deep help, which has always been his biggest problem.

I like Epps and Maddox as deep safeties, Wallace as a slot corner and Mills as an outside corner. We will see what the new coaches think.

Wasn’t that impressed with Epps honestly as a backup guess he is fine...Agree on Maddox though think he would be perfect to replace McLeod.

Wallace I also like at S

Dude on radio crushing Howie right now... it's beautiful.

" Bush league"  soiling people's reputations on the way out... no kidding!  Like clockwork and the sheep follow.

" Doug wanted Reagor over Jefferson..."  lol.  "Adam schefter being Howie's waterboy. "     Great stuff.

Wow.... didn't realize the big picture was this bad.... great article from local writer.

Since 2009, developed zero WR or CB and got rid of 2 franchise QBs

4 losing seasons in the last 10, but only 3 seasons with 10 wins.... 2 of those by Chip.

A culture of passing blame and not taking responsibility.   Yet one constant remains.
