The Pitts/Trask connection is immediate and our QB coach knows them both well. I would also be fine with Grimes in place of Shi Smith

We'll probably take a QB,but I won't agree with it

Just going by the composite BB which is the average draft positions from 19 different BB's

LOL yeah Trask is crap cause he's a round 2,so then so is Hurts and nobody can improve in a year lol. Maybe we'll get lucky and get Manziel

I’m not high on Hurts hence me wanting QB in the top 10.... Trask I’m meh on it’s all opinion based.

As for Manziel he was a late one Trask who be more likely a Manziel pick.

WOW did you borrow Hams crystal ball? AMAZING that you have all this info at your fingertips. Brady was a round 6,he must REALLY SUCK!!!!

Not sure if this works but if not.... google  Birds of broad street Facebook videos   Its from Feb 15 video on Hurts.      Check out the 2nd to last throw, that was the one that should have been the pick 6 for the Saints on the weak throw on the out pattern towards the bottom of the screen.

Thanks Joe, that was hard to watch. As much as I don't want us to have to pick a QB with our 1st……I just don't see Hurts as the franchise guy. A serviceable BU is as far as go. Always the possibility he'll improve. Improve enough??? That's what I keep coming back to. Hope you didn't mind me bustin' your sack over whereabouts of that link. LOL

So many different throws for a QB to make. Hurts can throw the deep ball. Maybe has to get rid of it a second earlier than Rodgers does. Showed very well on the back shoulder and fade routes. Just gottta keep going on and on through the list. Figure out strengths and weakness. See if you can improve on some in the middle. The usual obvious things of accuracy and consistency gotta go to work at.

The QB question is clearly on all our minds. So we need to go one by one. Trask is at the tail end of the quality six QBs. So let’s start there. Give your impressions on why you think Trask could work. Also why he would struggle.

His offensive coordinator becoming our QB coach is the obvious start of positives.

Posting anything Elliot Shore Parks should be an instant ban

Yes, we know all that with the same crap O line and 4 games of experience lol Amazing how we expect a QB to be a pro bowler day 1,but we'll let the other positions slide with a pass HAHAHA jebus(Oh that WR, he only has a year in lmao). Reagor should bring 5 round 1 picks by now

That’s the thing about this game: Somebody’s gotta win, and somebody’s gotta lose. So to the guys preparing to play on Feb. 7, I’ll leave you with this:

Be prepared. Control what you can control. Handle your business.

And most of all, be loose.

Yeah, it’s a big game. The biggest in our sport. But for what you’re trying to accomplish? It really is just another game. So stick with what got you there. For me, it was the preparation. But it was also the brotherhood. The freestyling. The cornhole. The card games. The off-season basketball games at Sherm’s house where we just cut loose and grilled out. All those things helped create the chemistry we had in our locker room, which impacted how we played together on the field. Our culture was a big reason behind our success.

I’m sure that on some level, it’s the same for your team.

He's possibly available in round 2???? That works for me if I am taking Pitts with my first. By then, the teams that wanted a QB have one drafted. Since we don't really know what we have in Hurts, round 2 for Trask also gives us a QB that we dont know what we have(LOL), but the QB coach does. Add to that with Pitts at pick 6(see last mock),you have instant chemistry. if i had to move a little in round 2 for Trask,it's not gonna cost me near what a move in round 1 would. In fact, I probably would not move, if he fell to me at 38 I'll take him. With a new staff that 2 players(Pitts/ Trask) and a coach that aready know each other, that puts them a little ahead of the curve. You could up that to 3 and 1 if you took Grimes at WR in 5

Quick rhythm based passer that likes to take some deep shots. Is the final assessment.....from Jordan Reid’s report.

He was a backup in high school behind a very talented QB. Suffered a right broken foot after redshirting. Then redshirt Soph he broke his other foot.

That's a fair assessment in my view. He will have to learn like any other rook QB would. Doesn't cost me much to see what he can become. I suspect we will pick up some kind of "vet" QB. No clue who that might be. if Hurts/ Trask didn't work out(either or both),then we have the option of 2022,but at least you had 2 chances and not one.Obviously if you want a top round 1,you will be "all in" win or lose. Drafting trask buys a little time to rebuild the rest of this team without putting a top gun talent at risk of serious injury(and ending that dream). I suppose what I mean is either Hurts or trask is "expendable" while we rebuild

Really seems likely he’s a fairly inexperienced player. Was a backup through high school. Then injured in college. Really sounds like basics are still in play with him. Just working that footwork and using his whole body to throw improved his velocity and accuracy. So he really needs continued development.  Looks like a pretty high ceiling. Unfortunately the floor might be very low as well.

Yeah, for me he has major upside and I would take a shot at 38. He seems adept at taking advice and changing/improving his game and that's what I want in a QB, someone who wants to learn and grow. Get him in an NFL program and his arm strength will improve also. If you can toss it 40 yards, thats fine by me cause I don;t want to be in a hail mary situation anyway. He is not as polished as the higher picks will be,but he could easliy get there

We hired the QB coach and OC for Trask. So it looks like he has a very good pulse on the exact positives and negatives and where he is as a passer. So his floor for us would seem to be higher. You would think he would be more NFL ready quicker because of this relationship also. The logic being just keep working on it like you’ve been doing at Florida.

Let's just say his coach(our now QB coach) made MASSIVE strides with him in 1 year. What else is there?? I would like to find out. Look how far he has come in the short time he actually played. If this is his "floor" I want to see his ceiling

I'm sure the schemes here would be different, but the coach seems to understand what his weaknesses are and avoid them(aka playing to their talent). Pitts at 6 and Trask at 38 gives you some immediate chemistry and lord knows we could use boatloads of that

1-6- Pitts-TE(FL)   2-38- Trask-QB(FL)  3-70- Newsome-CB(Northwestern)  3-85(from Colts)- Baron Browning-ILB-OSU  5-134- Shi Smith-WR (this guy replaced Deebo at S. Carolina)  5-140-Larry Rountree- RB- (Mizz)   6-165- Chris Rumph-Edge(Duke)  7-198- Tariq Thompson-S (SD St.)     UDFA-  Bynum-CB(Cal)    Hutcherson-OG(S. Carolina)   Chris Evans-RB-Michigan  Mustafa Johnson-DL(Colorado)  Ian Book-QB(ND)    Now you have 3 QB's competing to start Hurts, Trask and Book(who would be our #3 for the moment. Hurts should start due to his small amount of real experience, however if one of these others can beat him out, good for us, or another possibility is Ertz for Foles trade to the Bears and put Book on the PS

Here was my last mock Ham. If you wanted to replace Shi with Grimes,I would have NP with that(thats a 3 players match)

So would we be developing Trask behind Hurts? I think that would be the case. Hurts has sooooo much more experience.

IDK, Hurts has experience at the COLLEGE level. Not that I want Trask to be a mommie's boy, but would be interesting to see what the QB coach can do with Hurts AND Trask. GOnna be all new for the QB coach also at the NFL level, trask would give him a little "support" and let the competition decide who starts. All 3 are in the learning phase. Then again even Lawrence will be in that same phase. PLus if you took Pitts at 6,you have an immediate outlet for either guy(along with Goedert),so there would be some support too as they grew into their craft

I’m going back to Trask not even getting High School experience
