Anyone think we should make a play for Jamal Adams after reports of the Cow#itches and Eagles inquiries on potential trade, mreports that Adams is unhappy with the Yets. Will the Eagles make a play for Adams. Maybe trade Dillard and bring JP back? I love JP, he has been everything for our Birds, but I want Dillard to get his chance and start this year.  Give youth a chance. Adams is the real deal, his Leadership, Production and intangibles are exceptional. Is this even possible? What would we have to give up for a player of Adams caliber?

If we could make an Adams deal work and get him under contract I’d be all for him...Elite S young we could use that but not sure how we would get him a new deal I would not trade for him as a 1 maybe 2 year rental

Tired of annual "rentals"

If you could run the ball some and play defense... maybe you get 5 or 6 more wins?     However you want to look at it, we shall see the impact of Brady and Gronk on a team that already led the league in passing, yet stunk in many other areas.

Well, one obstacle is no OL with a weakened Brady arm. I think you see a lower YPC with Gronk than in the past. Could be more YAcontact though too. And more injuries.

Brady loves his dual TE's so now they have Gronk and Howard and arguably a much better WR corps if they can stay on the field. They lost Perriman, but Evans and Godwin will do

LMAO OH if wentz tossed 4-5 picks in a game think we would win it?

But you said Tampa' D was on the field for 45 minutes per game... which is it?    Tampa's D stunk .. regardless of QB.   They were not on the field more than 23 other teams.  They stunk on their own.   Their offense produced points more than 28 more teams.   So now Brady comes in and the D will produce better?

I didn't realize Winston threw 64 - 80 picks last year... which is 4 -5 per game?

https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/team-stats?season=2019&week=100&category=DEFENSE&page=1  TB offense was also less than prolific with Winston screwing things up every chance he got keeping their defense on the field all day in many games I watched. Our D didn't exactly light it up either

Tampa's D played less than most defenses in the league.  They stunk... no excuses for that.  In no way was their defense even just normally bad... they were awful.

Agree... now Brady gets to lose 35 to 31 because his D sucks.

Hence why I said I would not make the trade for Adams unless we could get a new deal in place for him

Why are we so focused on TB???? Lol there O will be better as will there D just my guess...

Im not seeing the D take massive leaps but somewhere around KC level would not shock me. Also having a QB who doesn’t throw 30 Ints(yes Jameis threw 30 Ints last year) is going to aid them as well that is just reality.

I say TB makes the playoffs and yes I think they will be a viable contender to make a run. NO v TB likely could be the best games of the year.

Philly/Dallas

GB/Minnesota

NO/TB

SF/Seattle/LA

These to me are the teams most likely to battle for the playoffs only see one from the East going and don’t see 3 West teams making it

31,or basically 2 picks EVERY game

TB had the most turnovers in the league. It was not even close. 41, next closest was Carolina with 35. When you turnover the ball over 2 times a game, chances are your defense is going to give up more points. The TB defense was 28th points against, but only 15th yards per game. You take away those turnovers and no way they are near 28th in points against. Brady protects the ball. You are saving 25 turnovers with just the QB change. You keep saying the D was horrible. Exactly how many games did you actually watch? I mean I hardly ever watch games other than Eagles or Green Bay( due to my wife). So, unless they were nationally televised, I doubt I watched any.....

Another thing to take note of: Average Line of Scrimmage to start a drive. TB was dead last. Their defense had to start on the opponents 32 yard line. Worse starting position for all defenses.

Adams is young, and a good leader with talent and savvy, has been a Difference maker on the Yets...had lots of production. Would he be a fit with our Birds. I've heard great things about Adams, what is he worth.

Long as Rosie been around we been able to acquire top notch players with little and no cap availability. Rosie finds a way to make it work Jeffery was the top free agent the year we acquired with little or no Cap . Next year I suspect the Eagles estimated 50 million Cap overage and the league will find a way to minimize the damage.

Big difference in those 2 levels of D .. just is if you look at everything without going in with any preconceived ideas.  It's really not close.  And they are getting older with that DL.

Stine, I watch NFL football ... otehr than the Eagles.  I play fantasy in 6 leagues ... I don't watch college.  I like NFL football.  Paying attention to the league is a great way to gauge what's going on and where the Eagles fit in.    I had Winston last year in a few leagues which worked out great for me... and I selected him for the  3 reasons I like to select QBs for fantasy.... 1.  Bad D, so will have to pass a lot.   2.  No run game ... so will have to pass a lot.    3.  Great weapons to pass the ball too.       That still exists for Brady now.

The idea that Winston was the big problem.   They won 7 games where he threw 9 picks ... including one game where he threw 1 and they still gave up 40 points.    He threw 16 of his picks in 4 of the losses.     So what about the other 5 losses.... here are his picks and the points Tampa's opponent scored

1  INT ... 32 points given up by D
0  INT .... 31 points ...
2 INT .... 27 points ...
0 INT .... 40 points ...
2 INT ... 28 points

6 games where he threw a combined 5 INTs.... half the games he threw ZERO .... Tampa D gave up 198 points.   33 per game.    Their D stinks!

Brady will absorb the 7 wins and the yards/ points ... those 4 games where Winston was the issue ... he will help.   Will they win 10 games ... probably.   Should they be instant favorites to win the SB, the NFC or even their division over the Saints.... I don't see it unless they improve their D and their running game.  Their pass O is already elite.  Clean up and win all the 4 games Winston cost them with the INTs... gets them to 11.  IDK... Suh, JPP ... a year older, not sure how it will work out.  Brady will be in a new system, I don't think anything is guaranteed that they will be maybe marginally better.

And flip this to the Eagles and Dallas.  Everyone loves the Tampa and Dallas offseasons ...

Tampa addressed positions that already produced .... which is what i have been saying about Dallas.

Dallas drafted the next Jerry Rice apparently ... to replace an already good slot WR in Cobb.      They lost an all pro C, but got a 4th rounder and all will be fine.  Lost guys on the DL and replaced them with guys who weren't as good.  They lost a good CB who was paid $17 mil per year ... but a 2nd round pick will be an improvement?  How did they lose all these guys and .... Yet they improved?????

The Eagles stunk at WR... were brutally slow there.    They added speed in the draft, made a trade for a speed guy and are getting back a speed WR from injury.   That's addition from what they had last year.     From ZERO to whatever....    They did not have a CB to match up vs top WRs.  They added one.   They were injured and not really good with the interior pass rush... tehy added there and are getting 2 guys back from injury.... that's an upgrade.    YET... .they got worse compared to Dallas and Tampa?????

IDK, I think people fall in love with names ... not seeing the whole puzzle... you replace a piece with a similar piece or do you get a piece that was missing?  To me getting the piece that was missing has more impact.   Congrats to Tampa for getting another QB (who didn't cost you 4 out of 16 games.   Congrats to Dallas for getting guys without the talent or experience to replace ones they lost.   Congrats for the splash names.... but lets see what happens in the fall.

WOW I think you are underestimating Brady. He is only one of the few GOATs of all time(I would put Manning/Montana in here) You are making it sound like Brady is about average.I guess we will find out.Sure someday he hangs up the cleats, maybe that happens after this year, but I dont see him slowing to the point of being "average".And I want to point out that Bradys accuracy is an IMMENSE improvement from Winston.Despite Winstons errant(alot) throws, the WR's still came up with the ball. Now factor in Brady will be on the mark more often than not and that is a marked improvement. So the D stinks(according to you and maybe you are right) but the Colts won alot of SB's with a crappy defense. And really going from 9 wins to the 11you estimate can make a BIG difference.I would love for the Eagles to have an 11 game winning season. So for me,if I can trade my QB for 2 extra wins a year, you bet I make that move

GBFL,   so you just wrote about nothing of what I said.   I already stated that Tampa had elite production from its passing game.  They improved their strength.  Forget the players for a second and look at the production. Their categories.  They stunk running and they couldn't stop anyone.  32 points to the Giants.... 40 points to both Seattle and the Rams.  2 INTs thrown combined by Winston. His INTs were a factor in 4 games... Tampa's D stunk for like 13 games.

They won 7 games... to win 11 is a 4 game improvement.  And that would be giving Brady all the same wins as Winston, plus all 4 of the ones where he threw those 16 INTs combined.  To me, that will still probably put them behind the Saints.

And I'm not underestimating Brady.  I'm saying football is a team sport and he don't play defense or run the ball. Or block for that matter.  I think Carolina will surprise people with their new coach and Atlanta always avoids being a pushover.   It's all new stuff for Brady. Being in a familiar system is a factor,  especially for a QB. All new coaches etc.  But even with that... say they put up 30 points per game... they will still lose their share unless the defense improves.

Not really lol 😂 and the Tampa DL still pretty young   Barrett(27) entering prime, Gholston(28) Vita(25) Devin White(22)

The secondary for TB is all 23 and under so young

Really only old guys TB has is Suh(33) JPP(31) and David(30) all teams have some vets.

Really can say what you want I see the D taking a step forward along with the O for the team. I mean hell just not having a QB that throws 30ints will aid the drastically.

Honestly Joe think I’m the only one looking at Tampa without some preconceived ideas...Your ideas are set in place it seems that they suck and won’t improve which seems unrealistic to me but hey to each there own
