I need some insight from you guys:

Eagles are currently $34 million over the cap. Signing 8 draft picks will cost what? $15 million? So really $50 million over. Who are they cutting to get there? Better not be Cox. He is half their defense and the team leader at this point.

So you roll with Hurts. He is a guy with a LOT of college experience and film. I don't watch a lot of college football, but I do know that he was on teams that had talent far superior to the competition to have success. That doesn't exist in the NFL. I HAVE VERY LITTLE FAITH IN HURTS! Joemas, you live there. What are they saying in Philly about the horrible position this team is in?

They didn’t get to roll with the strength of the team in 2020 because of all of the injuries there....OLine. Now the Eagles will be forced to cut either Brooks or Johnson....bad decision if they cut Johnson. They flat out lose with him on the sidelines.

How in the heck did Howie keep his job with this absolute mess of a roster and cap situation while firing the coach AND QB?
Joemas, why the change in heart about Wentz leaving? I don’t get paid by my former employer AND force them to send me to a competitor. Why in the heck are these NFL teams allowing this nonsense? If I were Houston’s GM, Watson stays and plays or chooses not to play. Crybaby. I would have told Wentz to suck it up and EARN the job. Eagles got next to nothing for him AND are paying him $33 million. Ridiculous! STUPID!

1. I think the draft picks will be around 6 to 7 mil to sign.    So they won't need to cut anyone,  but probably Ertz at some point will be cut as they realize that they won't get anything in a trade.  Nobody else that would surprise us though.

2.  I don't have any faith in Hurts either, seems like most media members don't really either, but they say the standard nice things etc.    If he improved every year, boy he must have been awful to start with?

3. Wentz had to go. Why keep him? A 28 year old married rich dude from North Dakota isn't going to fit in with the NFL hopefuls that we have on our roster like the current QB who is from the same background and is also an NFL hopeful.    During a rebuild,  that is void of any player that is both pro bowl level and under 30, paying a franchise QB is a waste.  Why keep him here and cost yourself more money and cap space.  Is it worth 22 mil of less cap space in 2022 to be stubborn in principle? All while your team isn't going anywhere?  Let the group of NFL hopefuls be led by one of their own.  He's worked hard to get to just under 52% completion % and next year he is going to try to make it to the 2nd read in the progression, exciting times ahead.

But this team is exactly what the owner and GM want.  You can see people slurping their kewl aid, grasping at straws to find hope.   But yes, a lot of negative energy locally in regards to the Eagles... for sure!

How many games were you able to watch last year? Like really watch ?

4-11-1.tells me all I need to know. Key screw ups at key times ,bad play calls, going for it on 4th down when a FG was the call, 14 O line combinations in 16 games, passes  dropped, passes that were 6 yards off the mark, giving up on the running game, I don't need to rehash all this again

Exactly where are you going with this?

YEAH!!!! How the hell can the media say they have no faith in a guy after 4 games with a crap O line and zero WR's and a coach calling bonehead plays? I love their "rush to judgement" I will judge after the first 6 games of 2021

Well reworked Hargrave saved nearly 10 mil. Think that puts us somewhere around 19 mil over the cap.

With Lane/Graham likely getting redone and Barnett getting a new deal we will likely be under the cap.

Can still redo Cox if we wanted and Ertz is likely gone freeing up little more.

At least we won't be sitting around wondering who they're gonna sign in free agency.

Eagles will no doubt have money to spend in FA seen most think it will be around 20 or so mil. Shouldn’t expect a massive spending spree but will see couple guys

I'm thinking the Ty-D-Bowl man. At least we'd be in a bowl game

2 FA's I would look at. Mack at RB and Rashard Higgins at WR. Both cheap IMO

😁To make the season more fun, the week before the SB(since it's a 2 week layoff anyway), I would take the bottom 2 teams and have them play in the "toilet bowl", the WINNER gets first pick (to avoid a tank-a-thon) lol

So this years toilet bowl would be the Jags vs the Jets. Team that WINS that game gets pick #1 and the LOSER gets the Hammered TIN toilet trophy. You lost the toilet bowl, you lost the 1 pick, you deserve the trophy for sucking arse😬

The obvious .. you draft a bunch of rookies, they are going to gravitate toward the rookie who happens to have the same background. Not hard to see... similar stage in life, similar experience.  Not sure many of these young offensive players have anything at all in common with Wentz.  Ward specifically said he is living vicariously through Hurts because he never got the shot to be a QB in the league.  This team is built for Hurts at the moment.  Every aspect of it.

Does that take into account the $15M or so they'll need to sign their draft picks?

If you go to " overthecap.com

Click on draft up near the top. It brings up all the picks from every team in all 7 rounds.  Go to the Eagles at pick 6.. and it will highlight each pick, you can see the cost for each and the total. Last I saw it was around 6 or 7 million... not 15. Just curious as to how anyone would come up with 15 million?  I'm not sure that any of the picks outside the first round will have a million cap hit?

That number is more like $7 million, since after the second round, draft picks only make $900k, and they are simply bumping someone else off the 53 who makes an equivalent amount.

As far as the salary cap in general, they have to clear around $18 million to get cap compliant, and they still have Lane, Graham, Cox, Barnett and Goodwin on the books for their full amounts, so there is the possibility of a lot of wiggle room. If they trade Ertz, with the Jackson and Jeffery releases they will have $26 million, a number that could rise to $46 million if they do full restructures/extensions on the above players.

I would think they want to keep some cash to extend Mailata and Goedert. But I would expect them to add a few free agents in the $5 million range, especially since they have no real comp pick concerns this year. I am thinking a qb, corner, LB and safety. WR is a possibility, but if they draft a guy at 6, I don't see much of a reason to bring in a free agent.

Georgia · CB

Eric Stokes

Georgia · CB

Date of Georgia pro day workout: March 17

I'm pairing the two Georgia cornerbacks together on this list. We've already seen a video of Stokes running the 40 go viral in recent days. He has a chance to run sub-4.3 at the Bulldogs' pro day. However, everyone I hear from at Georgia says Campbell is just as fast, if not faster. Both players were state track champs in high school (Campbell in Florida; Stokes in Georgia). If you talk to 10 personnel evaluators right now, five of them would have Campbell ranked ahead of Stokes and the other five would have Stokes over Campbell. It's extremely tight between these two former teammates, but both are viewed as second-round picks.

I like Campbell just  a little better. These 2 are on the top 7 fastest draftees(or supposedly)

I still can’t see us going skill position until I see it history just isn’t in our favor think 6 top 10 picks since Lurie has been owner and all the picks have been either linemen or QBs.

Not saying it’s impossible but definitely in the I’ll believe it when Insee it crowd

OK cool thanks for the correction.  I thought I read somewhere it was around $15 but I probably either misread or am confusing that number with something else.

I have seen $15 million as the number a team needs to sign draft picks and get through the season (i.e. the cushion needed to bring in guys due to injury, elevate guys from the PS, etc.)

Chiefs released both of there OTs... Of reports are true we looking for move Dillard think that is a spot.

Honestly lot of reports swirling around the Eagles OL Brooks has been reported to be on the block as well.

I will say it is unlikely but would we consider trading Lane for the right price(presumably a 1st rounder) 31 dealing with injuries. Good position to take a new OT in the draft. Have Mailata/Dillard as well.

Agreed I wouldn’t be happy with Smith over Pitts either.
