Of course you will just focus on the differences between Brooks,  Lane and 2 guys that are a year younger and not the bigger picture.  It's ok...the NFC East will be eternally bad.   We will always be decent regardless of no star players in their prime and a QB who threw less than 52%.   I think we could put a high school team out there and people could spin it to where it would be an 8 win team.  The birthright thing.

Lmao your the one who keeps bringing up a handful of guys oh the Dallas OL a year younger then our they are so much younger... Oh Lawrence is 29 that huge compared to Cox at 30 like come on.
building blocks on the OL what does anyone in the East have??? The Washington G that what turning 30 this year?

Ive given credit the the Washington DL just like I give credit to the Dallas WRs and Saquon.

Big picture the East is in shambles right. The best OLs are old and aging no really building blocks on any of them some maybes. No QBs outside of Dak. Every team has joke of a secondary.

Can this change sure guys step up guys get drafted new players show up but right now big picture the East is terrible

These guys are killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

I had this stupid dream that maybe one day I could attend a SB. Then the top price tickets went for 6k. Now it costs that to park lol

Waddle the new popular name for us in mock drafts. Guess can be looked as a good thing if you don’t want him pretty sure we never draft the most popular mocked player for us lol

Will all be different next week,as as every year. Also need to wait for FA. I still see zero reason to run out and take WR at 6, when you can still get a top notch one at 37 and beyond, if that's what you want

McKinney-LB Houston to Fins for one of their LB's. Don't see much advantage to it

IDK, maybe it's me. If you know players that fit, we wait around, then shop the bargain basement, and while I am all for good value, there comes a point when you have to get your guys instead of shopping the "back row" at the car dealer. Instead of buying decent cars in the mid price range, we shop the back lot until we have no choice but to buy an expensive one on the showroom floor and take out a massive loan. Now we have little money for even for the back row jalopies because we wrecked the new one lol

I think this will have an impact on the Barnett talks.

Plenty of pass rushers are available in free agency - ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)

I think they should just release him and try to re-sign him in free agency. I doubt the market will be that high for him, and if another team throws a bunch of money at him, there are going to be plenty of cheap options out there to go along with a late round draft pick.

Another potential impact on the Barnett talks.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter: "In other news: The #Bears have agreed to terms on a 3-year, $11.55M deal with DE Mario Edwards, source said. After bouncing around, he found his footing in Chicago with a new attitude and now will stick around." / Twitter

Edwards had 4 sacks, while Barnett had 6 in twice as many snaps. Barnett is probably worth a little more, but not a lot more. I put his value on $7 million a year, which I think is pretty spot on. If they can't sign him for that, they should let him walk.

We can’t afford $7m a year without renegotiating more deals. I guess they can backload the deal but is Barnett really worth it.

And for him, this close to free agency,  you can bet his agent has an idea of the market, why not play if you don't have an offer you like?  For same money he may want to go somewhere else anyway?   I've thought the whole time that more chance than not he would be gone.

Brees retired. He did so much for that city

Barnett has underachieved in my opinion.

Especially when combined with his undisciplined boneheaded play at times with late hits.

Right,  we know from the article,  that both Barwin and Matthew's were cut, so was Chase Daniel.  I remember it getting up there close to 30 mil by the time the season started, but like the article said,  the moves actually saved cap space.

Ok, so we were both right lol . It was under 10 mil before the season and Eagles increased it by cutting/trading more players to create cap space...

I have to side with Joe on this one. Yes the NFC East is a mess, but we are in the worse shape of all the teams. sure Dallas Has 3 O-Lineman 30 and 2 D-Linemen at 31. Giants only have 1 Lineman over 29 on their roster. We have 4 D-Linemen over 29 and 3 O-Linemen over 29. If we get rid of Jackson and Curry we will have the same amount of older players, but how will they perform without them? Giants can only get better where we will be losing some of our players in the near future. Not to mention we cannot stay healthy. Can anyone be certain we won't have a few injuries our Lines? It would be the first time in 4 years should it happen and we are all a year older. Our LB's stink. We have 1 solid CB and McLeod is getting older at safety. No depth there. Dallas has a great WR core and a Great RB group. What do we have? You can point to Dallas's defense and say it is weak, but they have far fewer holes to plug and 18 Mil in Cap space. So they can grab 1-2 players in FA to help and draft a few on Defense to make them more complete. Giants need less then we do also. I really do not know Washington's situation, but they cannot be worse than us.

So, winning more than 6 games in highly unlikely IMO. If Hurts plays well or better than we may win 7 or 8. If he plays lights out then we could do much better, but then we would not need to draft a QB so not worried about where we draft. I think We should draft in the top 10 next year unless Hurts proves he can do the job. So we can use the Pick we got from Indy to move up and grab a QB next year. I have heard some are saying the QB class next year could be better then this year anyway....

I am not worried. I am bracing myself for a 4-6 win season and am good with that. I can only hope we draft better this year to start getting quality players to build with.... Some think we will do better next year. I do not see it..... I guess we will see....

Washington has 38 mill in cap Space. They can choose to sign Ryan Fitzpatrick and either Tyrod Taylor or Andy Dalton as a back up. That would be as good as what we have, maybe better as we don't really know at this point what Hurts will do.... something else to think about....

Not going to argue your points, you could be right. I am hoping for 7 wins. But here is something else to consider and I have bit*8ed about it many times. With Ped, on TOO many occasions we came out flatter than a steamrolled pancake. We would get behind because Ped was simply AWFUL at in game adjustments. Sometimes after the 1/2 we would actually play football, so I have no clue how many games that affected. We rarely "played 60". Many times it was 30 or even less and I hope this new staff can light the fire. If we get beat by a better team, you won;t hear a word from me if we played our best, but last year many first 1/2's were a JOKE as far as effort and being emotionally ready to play. Just wondering how the seaon would have differed if we had "played 60"

Initially, I said I didn't want Tyrod, but his playing style is like Hurts, so in that case no matter who played, the offense would stay the same. The question them becomes who starts, the guy you are paying,or the guy that has the upside potential? I need to thank Howie for getting us into this BS position

Always liked Fitz. He's not elite, his numbers aren't great, but he fights and comes into unknown teams and bails them out for at least a respectable showing. Of course once again we have no #1 receivers for him, so IDK how he would work here, so as much as I like him,I think Tyrod is the better fit because no matter who our QB is,they will be running

Noithing to indicate this year will be better GB. Heck, it could be worse!

IDK he needs to step it up. Under the new staff we will see if they can get him to play, if not say goodbye because at this point we cannot afford the coddling of the past. PUT up or get out!!!

GB, I doubt we sign either of these two. First, we have limited money to spend. Second, we want to give Hurts every chance to succeed so signing either one would indicate Hurts starts on the bench...

Well the indication is a new staff. Maybe the was one of the reasons. I remember the Dullaz game at the Linc. The tunnel exit looked like a funeral procession(because it was LOL)

Yeah I think that too,but we have ZERO BU's for him right now,so we'll need someone or a draft pick or 3
