With how meh Clowney was last  year I’d try and sign him cheaper(not say us but a team)Only played 8 games didn’t have a single sack.

I dont care, he's cheaper than Barnett. We always go CHEAP, thats why our team blows, then we overpay who we have besides. We aren't fixing this in 1 year

Not going to lie I have no clue what your trying to say here??? Is it yes we want Clowney over Barnett or no you don’t because he is cheaper lol. Or you don’t want neither???

Also nobody said anything about fixing this in a year hence why the FA I’ve looked at tend to be on the younger side can be more then just a 1 year bandaid

My Carmichael jersey goes for around 75 bucks (still in a box in my garage somewhere)

Is $75 for a hall of famer's jersey good? I thought the regular jerseys go for about that much?

Some thoughts on the opening day of free agency.

Deals handed out to Mills, Darby, Agholor and to a lesser extent Ford show that the team doesn't necessarily have a talent acquisition problem, but rather a development and implementation problem. If you look at the money handed out to our former players, and how badly we have struggled in the secondary and at wr, there is clearly a disconnect somewhere.

That being said, I would ride or die with what we have at safety and LB. Mills get a decent deal with the Pats, and there is an argument to be made that Epps is just as good as he is, and Wallace might be with more experience. Plus, Maddox is giving off a "promising player who might really benefit from Schwartz being gone" vibe to me. Those three players deserve a shot at starting without the team signing a free agent for a decent amount of money who would immediately leapfrog them on the depth chart. Let them compete with a draft pick. The same with LB.

I do think we need a corner, and a few decent options remain out there. But overpaying seems dumb. I think the team should let everyone with cap room blow themselves out and then see what is left. if you look at the Colts, they have a ton of space but aren't going nuts. Clearly they are waiting, and I think we should do the same.

I think it’s more utilization problem didn’t seem to play guys to there strengths... Darby was always a decent CB showed that in Buffalo had some stretches with us and again with DC. I though Mills was far better suited at S then being on a island as a CB like we used him so often.

AG think was mental really and Philly media and fans didn’t help him think the change was good for him think he will do fine in NE as well

I’m not that how on Epps personally but won’t complain if he shows out. I’m huge fan of the limited action I seen from Wallace seems to be pretty sticky in coverage decent tackler reps and experience is what he needs.

Maddox i thought since his rookie year would be best suited as a deep S let him roam use his instincts and speed to go make plays on the ball rather him him at CB. Might be alright in the slot

I have no clue Joe,why does this concern you???? I doubt they were $75.00 new back then

Fitzmagic to Washington. Pretty good signing for them

Yeah nice bandaid. I suppose they will be looking at Trask and Mond maybe Jones at 19

It's the annual " I'm gonna sell my gear rant "   was just curious how the market is at the moment?   Seems like sports cards are going up again.

What about the kid that played well in the playoffs?  Seems like 2 QBs with some mobility.  They also could be setting up for a more major move next year for a veteran? Like I said before, Rivera is well liked around the league. If they set up a situation where a QB wants to go there, I could easily see that happen. Big off-season for them with the ability to add some free agents and draft position isn't too bad.

I don't think Jones gets past NE at 15.

I could see Washington drafting either Jones or Lance at 19. Whichever falls to them. Either one needs a year to learn and having Fitz makes that possible.

How many QBs do you think get drafted in the first round? I think 5, maybe 6 at most. If it turns out to be 5 then Washington can grab Lance or Jones. I doubt they opt for Trask if he is the best option. Just my opinion....

Looking ahead to 2022 draft there are 4definite 1st rd QB's projected. Howell- NC, Slovis-USC, Nix-Auburn and Rattler- OK. There are a few more that may emerge as it always seems to happen. So with 4-5 solid QB options next year, The Eagles have a solid chance to grab one they like if they end up with 2 number 1 picks and finish in the bottom 10 next year. So, if hurts stinks we should be in position to grab the QB of the future next season.... Any thoughts? I prefer we stay away from USC QB's... Keep thinking Barkley, Sanchez and Darnold.... Yes there have been some good QB's but I would not say it is a slam dunk when drafting a USC QB.... Salisbury, Marinovich.... Yuk!

My thoughts exactly on how they should approach the QB position.  Use 2021 to get a much better evaluation of Hurts and should they know at the end of the season he isn’t going to be the guy going forward, grab one next year.  And definitely agree on staying away from USC QBs.  Oh and ya forgot Leinert.  🙂

IDK,seems to me Mond would fit the Pats better as well as the no names. He has been garnering more attention lately

Agreed, this isnt the year. I will target Mills(Stanford) at pick 189, just to see what happens. Been some nice QB's coming out of Stanford at times

Hard to know. Still FA QB's out there. Watson is a big name. They keep saying "no trade" but he has requested one,so what do they do now? lol(maybe call Howie and borrow his "draft picks for dummies" guide")

It's not annual Joe, it's at least BI-annual ,sometimes quarterly 🤣

Trask seems to be falling. Many think his WR's and Pitts made him look better than he is. I cannot argue with that. I saw a mock where we got Trask at 70. I would be ok with that I suppose it depends if they feel the upside is there. Still,I would wait and use those 3's for more glaring needs in a re-build year. Mills at 189 gives you similar potential with a lot later pick. At least with Trask or Mills you pretty much have your #2 QB in place. Brady White as a UDFA gives you your #3. That way the pecking order is not disrupted, there is no QB controversy, but you have 3 young guys all competing and your QB costs are low for a long time(if Hurts works out). If not,you have a better team overall if you drafted right and it's more appealing for a FA QB to want to come here to play

IMO Carolina can't wait another year for a QB, I expect a strong move up from them, Denver also in the same position unless Elway thinks his guy is on the move up. ATL is a ? for me. Ryan is the QB this year no doubt, so for them it's this year or next year to get his replacement up to speed. Pats, no names, Chicago could all be looking at QB's and now I suppose you can add the Titans in here also if they want a BU QB. SO for me, if ATL is looking NOW that makes 9 potential teams looking at QB and Houston if Watson leaves, but that will remove one of the others. SO 9 would not be out of the question, but there are not 9  QB's  worthy of round 1 IMO. So it should be interesting to see 9 teams vie for 5-6 QB's. Later teams don't have the draft cap to move up. Pats dont, Bears dont but I think both grab theirs in round 2

I mentioned NE as a potential trade destination for Ertz since BB loves his TEs.  Can forget that now ... after signing Jonnu Smith they are now reportedly signing Hunter Henry as well.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/16/patriots-to-sign-hunter-henry/

It makes San Diego a real likely landing spot for Ertz, though. And his contract at $5 million is a bargain. So maybe we get a third after all.
