Hurts seems to welcome competition (unlike Wentz).  All players at every position should welcome (and expect) competition ... it pushes them to be better.  That is the ultimate sense of entitlement ... expecting no competition.

Why?   Expectations are zero this year.  Hurts is playing for a job past this year.  The Eagles will give him every chance to play, especially when they see Wentz lighting it up I'm Indy.

Fitz was signed... $10-12 mil to start this year.    I'm talking about Brissett or Taylor signing for a 3rd of that to be a backup...after nobody else gives them a better offer.  

If they get a better offer...then we do it your way.  But I  ask... Hurts plays bad week 1. Now you have an unknown rookie that has potential .. isn't it more controversial than having a vet here with no future?  Fans will want the rookie more than the scrubby vet.

It would be completely unfair to make any kind of judgement on any player after just one game.  First, a QB is going to need time to develop chemistry with his skill position players.  Second, bumps should be expected, especially early (entirely new coaching staff installing new schemes on offense and defense, still a lack of talent to contend with, etc.).  Unless they draft at QB at 6, Hurts needs to be given all of 2021 to see if he progresses and the offense as a whole progresses and show that he has the potential to be our QB for the near future (IMHO of course).

Yep depends. if i had more cap I would probably agree with you,but we need as much as we can get in FA as well as the draft. If we're going nowhere I would rather spend what little there is on say the O or D line and let other rooks come in and compete for whatever position they can rise to.

Right, thats what I'm saying.It will be a rerun of the last year when we left Wentz in for 10 disastrous weeks if Hurts is bad. At some point the fans will want your "vet" BU in. Is that week 2 or week 12? I dont have the answer to that. If you're giving Hurts "all of 2021" why are you paying a BU when we need other positions filled? If Hurts is THAT bad,how much worse can a rook you draft be???

There is no way you can't see that fans would want to see a rookie play over a retread vet backup.     I mean,  if we had a vet backup instead of Hurts last year, do you really think people would have wanted him in... for what?  People wanted to see the rookie play.  Just like they do this year.  And yes, he will stink at times... it's part of the process,  but he stays in because it's better long term to get him experience.   

The Eagles need to know about the future, not who could win week 2 this year.   It shouldn't be hard to understand.  I think you are spewing BS for attention.

At NO POINT will the fans want the vet in...because we would be looking to get a better draft pick to get the QB next year. There is no incentive to win now with a vet.....zero!
