Not 100% on this but might have traded Ertz to the bills

Geno Smith is a name being kicked around as a possible backup qb. Would likely sign for the vet minimum, so he's essentially free (just replaces someone else in the top 51.)

Scratch this pretty sure it was a fake report lmao

Let's just pry butt fumble out of retirement

What is it looking like?

Like we will grab some more rook QB's and see where they line up in the pecking order. Nobody left worth getting IMO. Even worse, we will take a QB at 6 because Howie can't look bad although the play would be to wait until next year and hope we get 2 round 1's

I think with Goodwin we are now set to be under the cap by the start of FA tomorrow. I’d still expect couple more moves Barnett extension maybe whatever we do with Ertz

Right... but being under the cap is one thing.   The Goodwin moves puts us there,  so now we can begin to sign free agents. Couldn't do that before.

Now if we sign a guy and it puts us at the cap or over it, we need to cut someone or make another move again to sign another guy.   It's why there is no leverage with Ertz.   Keeping that $4.7 mil on the books might prevent moves?    Barnett getting locked in at $10 mil too.   The Eagles need to make these moves if they want to sign guys.

They don't have leverage... each passing minute after the deadline tomorrow it goes down.  We may see the 2 moves tomorrow before 4pm with both Ertz and Barnett.   Might not be exactly what we want to see either.

This needs to get done before any free agency signings.

I think for sure the UDFA route will be the way to go for the #3 .... I still think they want the cheap vet as #2.

What you miss here... the cheap version actually would cost less.  Especially if at league minimum.   Plus not having to invest a draft pick.

And nobody is going to want Geno Smith to play over Hurts.  Basically eliminating and controversy.

1.  Save the draft pick and maybe cap space

2. No controversy

3. Some experience to help Hurts.

Should be easy decision,  but like I was saying earlier, it's gotta be a guy who doesn't have any other offers, leaving no doubt what his role is.

I am not concerned about QB in the least. Not sure why we are all talking about a back up anyway. Focus should be on Cap, Trades and FA right now. Do we have a punter yet? lol that is probably more important than a 2nd string QB....

Meanwhile I have 2 corned beefs in my crock pot. Going to buy the ingredients for that cocktail GB told me about and try it tonight. Only will have 1-2 as I am a light weight when it comes to drinking....

I prefer flat over point cut as it slices better, isn't as fatty. Bring the corned beef up to a simmer, let it cool, swap out the water or soak it overnight to get rid of some of the salt. Also use Brussels Sprouts instead of cabbage as there are just Deb and I this yr. Could have only used 1/2 a head of cabbage then cole slawed the rest. I also don't add the potatoes to the crock pot until it's half done so they're not mushy.

Also never use that seasoning pkt that comes with a lot of them - they're garbage!

The reason I like the Crock pot is it comes out perfect every time and you do not need to watch it. Put it on before you go to work and eat it when you come home. I also prefer Flat cut.

Only problem I have is I am the only one in my family that likes cabbage!  Terrible, especially as my wife and kids are Irish....

Corned beef is actually a USA thing, it's not a traditional dish in Ireland.

Yeah, we use the crock pot too but we don't let things like that run when we leave the house, just don't feel comfortable leaving small appliance on.

True, but I thought cabbage was common in Ireland. I went to Ireland in 2005. The country is really beautiful. OF course unemployment was like 19%, but the people were all real nice. I actually met an old EMB poster there. He was from the UK and we met in Dublin to have a warm one.... They never drink cold beer that really bothers me lol

Yeah, it's pick your poison because even a late draft you have for 4 years, so I am taking one at 189 and getting a UDFA. Dont care if we have a "vet presence" or not really, let 189 and the UDFA battle it out for the pecking order

Taters and Sauerkraut near the end for me

Don't believe a very flawed vet would be a good presence

Try sauerkraut lol. If you want to go further put that on rye, add thousand island dressing and top with cheese and you got Reuben sammiches all day long lol

No more dangerous than leaving a light on if it's on low. Thats why you have breakers lol

Right now I am into "get the young guys and let them battle it out". What "vet" can we get now anyway? Foles? lol

58, if you feel bad about having a crockpot on when leaving, you can use a box lined with foil(old ammo boxes work or those old milk things we had on our porches lol).Drill 2-3 holes in the top of that, staple foil inside that and run an extension cord outside and let 'er rip. Just make sure it's not raining HAHA

This what my beard looks like blonde hair blue eyes with a redish tinted beard lmao

We reworked Elliott and Mcleods deals so little more cap room made... this might be minor or huge do we think we bring in legit competition for Elliott? I mean how deflating is it for your O to all this work for the kicker to miss the FG. I know you want to punch it in for a Tad every drive but that isn’t realistic but we should definitely expect the gimme FG when we are in that position and Elliott was missing way to many easy ones
