Mahomes was "great" How did he look in the SB???? Lance could be the same,or any other QB really. KC has a good team,we aren't even close to them,so I dont see any QB succeeding here until we get out sh** together(sorry I am blunt, but it's all I know how to be)

Well that's actually the point. We all know we aren't going anywhere far this year. So lets get in the QB's. We have time to sort through them. QB is the most important position on the team,so let's get started with the sorting. Maybe we find none, but that doesn't stop me from trying. We can see with Denver how bad Elway is at picking QB's. We may be slightly better(not by alot),but new staff now,so the more young guys the better IMO. Siri is young for a coach. Bring in the young QB's and let him do the job he was hired to do. Hopefully we can hit on a few guys and build next year. But QB is the guy that leads the team. I dont want re-runs/has beens, I want the most young guys I can get my hands on. So we indeed differ. We tried the "dream team",that didnt work. What worked in 2017 was everyone pulling together due to losing Wentz. I want that SPIRIT back. Old guys aren't gonna give you that. Let's try something DIFFERENT. bring in the young guys, let them play and earn their way. When I worked I had no mentors,I had to succeed or not on my on merits. I'm sure you did the same,so why should it be different with a football team? I want to take fliers NOW and more fliers next year. if you want the "safe bet" we will be the team that goes .500 again. We are used to that, but I want more. Not this year, maybe not next year but I want to see the process of thought change. Stop bringing old guys back. The future is YOUTH. let's get started. And while some vets are needed, let's not drag our feet as we usually do (see Peters). Lurie still needs to grow a pair. I don't see that happening, but I refuse to lower MY standards. Someone needs to kick some arse. What happened to "we're from Philly and we fight"? I think we forgot all that. We had that in '17 and I want that back. And as you consistently say, the BRONZE is not my goal

I don't think you actually pay attention to what I say?   The mentor thing is at the bottom of my list,  you keep focusing on that.   I want the cheapest option, the vet minimum for ONE year.   And zero " let's get QBs....I don't want the "S"  I just want one for this year.  Either Hurts is ... or he isn't... either way all of my resources are to build the rest of the team.  I go UDFA # 3 as my project, the guy with no investment of a draft pick or any signing bonus.  That's what the vet minimum does,  it's the lowest cap hit and nothing beyond this year.  Where even if it's $25 , I don't want any dead money from a draft pick like we had with that last wasted QB pick in 2019.  I want ZERO invested this year in any other QB but Hurts.  No excuses for him. All the money and all the picks go elsewhere.   The mentor thing is last on the list.

I mean,  it's not a bad idea to take a punter in round 6, if he ends up the long term guy,  we don't have one at the moment.  Lock that in cheap for 4 years... and he should get a lot of practice during games .

Right, so why draft one?

Thoughts on Trey Lance....if he is available at 6? Based on what I saw on his pro day, I think he will be the 2nd or 3rd pick. I was impressed. Am I the only one?

I find it hard to believe we would go with another NDSU QB but best believe if the FO falls in love with a QB in this draft we will end up drafting a guy. It’s that simple.

Nope,we still need a BU QB(2 preferably) somewhere yes??? The cheapest option is to draft one or UDFA 2. Maybe you don't pay attention to what i say either lol

Why pay one??? You already know he is gone year 2??? Why waste the money? league min or not it's a waste ,of resources. You have 4 years to decide if you want to pay your  draft pick or not. How good have our draft picks been? You are talking about ONE pick ruining it all? Aren't we already ruined? So pick 189 is a bust,we haven't had those before??? Instead you want to pay a guy who is gone the following year? OK whatever, but I disagree. A fail is a fail whether you draft one or pay one

The cheapest option is to NOT pay someone and draft one. It gets no cheaper than that. Draft a late guy, take a UDFA too, start Hurts and see where it goes. I have spent no money on a QB. I will take your 4-5 mil BU QB money and find and fill a position of need even if it's a decent depth BU lineman, because we need everything

So ok GB, Joe or anyone who knows def answer to this. What does vet QB minimum cost? 2nd or 3rd Rd. draft QB cost? Since this is a most efficient cost for QB2 debate right now.

Vet minimum depends how many years you’ve accrued in the NFL. Each year you have to make more(as a minimum). But part of the cost of going with a draftee is the draft pick.....not just the dollars. Draft picks (should be) are valuable.

I can’t call Watson a cancer because of what they’ve put him through. That’s one of the only organizations that’s clearly been run much worse than ours.

Exactly what did Houston put Watson Through? Are you one that believes the nonsense that Houston Texans engineered the 3 lawsuits for sexual assault? The dude is a POS and I want nothing to do with him. Spin it however you like. I want a class act engineering my favorite team.

If you want out of a situation, You don't sign a new contract in September! All he had to do was wait it out and become a FA.

How did you like my "Island Breeze"?

At any rate we'll just have too wait and see what the FO decides. Maybe another stint with McCown sitting in his Laz-Y-Boy in Maui for 500.00 a week and an undated plane ticket to Philly. About as cheap as it gets 😆

I had 2-1/2 drinks which is allot for me. This morning my "Constitution" was green lol

He put up with the worst coach/GM situation in the league. Terrible trade....after laughable trade. Got rid of his top receiver(arguably THE top receiver) for an overpriced Rb. One of the biggest WTF trades we’ve seen.

I’ve heard about two times a masseuse stated he touched their hand with his P. Don’t think I’m going to calling him a POS over this. Not sure exactly what went down. But even the (so called) victims story doesn’t sound that terrible. Worst case scenario he owes the lady an apology.

Watson should have flown to Robert Krafts masseuse

Again, Last September all he had to do was not sign the new contract to leave. If the situation was that bad, why sign the contract? It was like 3-4 months later and he demands a trade? You call this a class guy?

I wasn’t going class guy. But his situation makes much more sense to me than Wentz. I think he knew the terrible coach was leaving and was told by ownership he’d have a ‘say’ or ‘voice’ in the new hire. Part of the negotiate of that new deal. I think they might have told him whatever to keep him around. But then didn’t. So they lied to him about his role in the organization. So then he wants to be traded. Totally reasonable IMO

Dave Culley sounds like a HC that Watson would want. He has been in the league 27 years and has worked with QB's and WR's. I don't see anything wrong with this move TBH... Any player that actually believes he is going to have a say who is hired for a GM or Coach is living in a fantasy world. Rodgers doesn't have a say in GB so you are a QB in Houston and think you will get one? LOL

To sign his contract to stay with that train wreck? I think they probably made him feel like a part of the management team...yes.

I think Rodgers absolutely had to run Mularkey out of GB

Trust me, Rodgers has no say what happens in GB. Yes, he probably wanted McCarthy out of GB. In fact he probably wanted him out for years before it actually happened. But he was not the motivating factor. I know this for certain. My Wife's friend knows more about what goes on in GB than most Sports analysts do. He goes to all of the GB Team events and talks to the President all the time. You think Rodgers wanted GB to draft a QB in Rd 1 last year? He was pissed. Did he demand a trade? Nope, he preceded to have a MVP season. That is the type of reaction you would want out of your team leader. So exactly what did Houston do after Watson signed the contract on Sept. 5th 2020? Oh they fired their HC/GM. They hired a GM from the Patriots org. and a HC from the Ravens Org. Not exactly what I would call bad moves. But yet he demands a trade because of what? Something that happened before he signed on the dotted line?

GB here is the drink we made...
