I don’t want to get all super political in here. But it’s so weird that now the person who stands for the National Anthem is the outcast. Women’s soccer that was the story. Oh my god she stood for the anthem!

The guy that sucker punched Goedert cane out with his story. Saying he was protecting his friends from Goedert and his companions that were bullying and threatening.

That would be great No Mas...if they don’t get poached. Big risks not protecting those assets though. But are you really that worried about losing Ward? The thought doesn’t really bother me. Last year...with no receivers...we needed him badly. But that was a break glass in case of emergency situation. We have several young new options with upside. We need to figure out what we have with them. Good or bad. If it’s all bad....then our problems are greater than releasing Ward...I assure you.

Not worried about any poaching.   I think we fall in love with too many of the guys that are 60 to 70 on the roster.   Alshon will be on PUP ... we need returners... I think ample room to fit in everyone... I wouldn't worry too much.

It’s highly unlikely Ward doesn’t make the team. Let’s be clear. But I don’t think he should be a lock....based on the reasons I’ve presented.

Nobody towards the back end of the roster should be a lock.   We are talking about expectations.   I think you owe the QB enough to put the better weapons around him... you are already lettign the LT spot be a development position.. you lost your RG... how about at least putting a WR that earns the spot because he is better now on the field.  IDK to say that any of these other guys have higher potential either.  A lot of assumptions.   WE have seen plenty of WRs develop after year 3.  IMO an average talent benefits from better talent around him... which Ward didn't have last year when he was put in.   If he earns it this year, fine.   Really I don't think letting any of the young guys go is an issue... the free agent from SF needs to earn a spot too... he isn't a lock either.  Alshon not a lock to play either.    The season itself isn't a lock.

No Mas, Brady wasn’t in the top spot in New England....until he was. Then became the GOAT.

LOL...  so then every time we draft a late round flyer... we need to keep him around on potential of " greatness"     You can tell it;s been a boring summer hunh?     But yeah, would be great to keep the future pro bowl combo of Watkins and Hightower on the roster this year.

I don't know if Jones can ever play well enough for Schwartz to put him on the field over Maddox. And our signing of Robey-Coleman and Parks seems to cement the fact that he is only going to see action if a lot of guys get hurt. My guess is that he would put both Douglas and Mills at CB before Jones.

Hmm I'm not sure about that... I think Jones gets the nod over Douglas for sure. Schwartz really doesn't rate Douglas at all.

That’s where Ward and Scott came from last season...the PS. Things would have sucked much more had they been poached. But why not just trade the picks away on day three if you don’t have room to keep them on the roster? That’s all you get from compensatory picks anyway. Why worry about collecting those? We always keep these developmental lineman on the roster even though they don’t ever suit up on gamedays. Why not these developmental WR? Nobody expects them to be ready by the end of TC. We drafted them knowing that. 5th, sixth and seventh rounders rarely are ready. But we see every year how even undrafted guys contribute down the line. Diamonds in the Rough is the phrase. These are guys that can show huge progress and development with quality pro coaching and weight training.

Our third round pick is a good example of this. He doesn’t look very NFL ready to me. It’s all based on his work ethic, athleticism and potential. Flajole is going to try to mold this raw piece of clay. Based on where he’s at after TC is doubtful he’s worthy of a roster spot. But we will keep him to develop him. Probably mostly be a core ST guy his rookie year.

There’s always a balance of NFL readiness versus potential. Huge mistake if always going for the most polished player over potential. I usually would rather error on the side of the player with a huge ceiling.

Just seems like every year you ramble on about how you hate the preseason and don’t care about the late picks, third and fourth stringers and PS players. Yet every year we see players across the league step up from these exact areas. This is were the good coaches and organizations make their mark. Most lists of the top 50 players are similar across the league. It’s beyond that where you can make a huge difference. Finding a Jason Kelce or even a Clement. Do we win the SB without either of those players? I think not. Clement might only turn out to be a one season thing....but what a season it was.

I think they were hesitant to put TJ Edwards on the roster. That undrafted kid now projects to be our starting LB year two. I’d say that was a great call. Ward came off the PS and many think he will be our starting slot WR. Boston Scott came off the PS and is our number two RB that we will be relying on heavily.

People get far too enamored with a "name" player.

The Eagles just need PLAYERS.

We poached Scott from New Orleans. Someone tried to poach Opeta from us so we had to add him to the roster.

What the Eagles are going through is what a lot of teams go through. There are only so many spots, and a lot of guys with potential.

The trick is keeping the right guys. With Ward specifically, we pretty much know what he is, namely a guy who can be counted on. Is he the splashiest player? No. But he's shown he can play at the NFL level. The team has three receivers that, to me, have a lot of potential in Hightower, Watkins and Bailey. Their job is to figure out which of those guys is Tyreke Hill, if any, and which is Shelton Gibson. If two of the guys have what it takes to be an NFL wide receiver, Ward becomes disposable. If none of them do, then he doesn't.

Found this .. interesting Graham seems to get double teamed on 23% of his pass rushes  .... overall win rate about 18%.    Barnett gets doubled about 16.5 % and has win rate of around 20%.  From a pure pass rushing standpoint.   IDK... my eyes still see more missed tackles on the QB from Graham than seeing a QB that is about to get sacked by Graham hurl a desperation toss up.  It is what it is.  They go hand in hand ... but for my preference I would prefer the DL to be elite.     I don't see too much difference in our secondary from 2017 -2019 ... I see our DL losing talent, depth and health ... with a dropoff from 2017.      I mean... Mills, Darby and Douglas were the guys in 2017.   You can look on paper and see injuries there too... eye test seems like the opposing QB has more time to throw though.    Another thing with the eye test is it seems we are scheming more vs the run on the back end where the DL took care of it more in 2017.

I will toss this out for whatever. These "missed tackles" may not have been before all these rule changes. You can't go full bore now,you have to pick your shots, which takes addtional fractional seconds. 2/10ths of a second could be the difference between a sack and an escape

The covid thing does help Ward. They know what they have, the new guys all they have are training vids.So although Ward is not a lock, the new guys will really have to impress on their vids or in camp(if there is one) sheesh

We made post season because of PS players.Maybe not due to their skills, but they took some defense away from out TE's.The Philly special was all run with "iffy " players.Every guy on the roster MUST perform, when asked to step up.Noone expects starter stats, but they need to be there

If there is a season. The numbers have just skyrocketed so much it’s hard to be positive.

I guess being positive isn’t such a good thing these days....rather test negative

Until or maybe if there is a vaccine we can count on there eventually being about 350,000,000 cases. it's pretty much inevitable.

The news about the NFL is all over the place right now with speculation. Saying that nobody will bring a whole compliment of 90 players to TC this year. How many will our Eagles bring to TC? Over/Under I’m placing at 75. What say you?
Other rumors about what to do with your most important players. Do you just isolate and quarantine our best guys? Not have them come in to TC at all. Heck do you feel so strongly about the situation you don’t even bring in a Carson Wentz player to play regular season games risking him to exposure? Or at least to begin the season until things calm down enough. So many possibilities, approaches and thoughts. Hard to say what’s right or wrong.

I promise if us season ticket holders are allowed to go to the games, I WILL stand for the National Anthem. They can call me a outcast all they want.

I really want and need football. I can't imagine how we can play this contact sport football, during a pandemic that kills people that have contact with each other never imagined this could happen here.

I have lost 1 family member...they say ...to Covid, I am of the same thought until we get a proven vaccine Shut it down. Sooo much death throughout the the world. Sooooo much bad karma.... as wonderful as football would be, Safety is #1. This is a monumental risk for the players and their families..
