That’s where Ward and Scott came from last season...the PS. Things would have sucked much more had they been poached. But why not just trade the picks away on day three if you don’t have room to keep them on the roster? That’s all you get from compensatory picks anyway. Why worry about collecting those? We always keep these developmental lineman on the roster even though they don’t ever suit up on gamedays. Why not these developmental WR? Nobody expects them to be ready by the end of TC. We drafted them knowing that. 5th, sixth and seventh rounders rarely are ready. But we see every year how even undrafted guys contribute down the line. Diamonds in the Rough is the phrase. These are guys that can show huge progress and development with quality pro coaching and weight training.

How many guys can you keep for development?  You need to put some on the practice squad right?  Just because we draft guys does that mean they earn a spot? We need all 10 picks to make the roster?   I see what you are saying,  but I think you just let guys play it out.  Fake an injury if you have too.  You take flyers on guys,  if they don't show much maybe they don't get poached? Maybe we poach a guy from another team?   Just seems it's a little stubborn always letting every draft pick make the 53.

There’s always a balance of NFL readiness versus potential. Huge mistake if always going for the most polished player over potential. I usually would rather error on the side of the player with a huge ceiling.

Huge mistake for ALWAYS doing anything that is the same.   My gut ... if you keep 6 WRs, it's ok to keep 24 year old Ward if he is going to offer you a chance to be better... we have enough young talent to develop.  Ward in the mix could be good..  if he earns it.   One thing you don't take into consideration is the team chemistry on and off the field.   That is a factor in keeping the locker room working properly.

Just seems like every year you ramble on about how you hate the preseason and don’t care about the late picks, third and fourth stringers and PS players. Yet every year we see players across the league step up from these exact areas. This is were the good coaches and organizations make their mark. Most lists of the top 50 players are similar across the league. It’s beyond that where you can make a huge difference. Finding a Jason Kelce or even a Clement. Do we win the SB without either of those players? I think not. Clement might only turn out to be a one season thing....but what a season it was.

Love when these unexpected guys step up in the regular season.    Fun to watch regular season and playoffs.... Thursday night games in August that don't count in the standings where teams don't game plan don't do much for me.

I’m not necessarily saying keep everybody draft pick. I lean towards maybe an undrafted guy or two also. Just depends. But we always keep lineman on the roster for development purposes. This year that could be Mailata, Opeta, Driscoll and Tangu. A few Dline also without me naming them. But I’m looking at three quality WR that need developing. Two day three draft picks and one undrafted. These guys have some big potential. But I don’t foresee any of them being ready for week one of action(besides ST). So we’ll see what they do with them. The problem with using the injury IR....the guy can’t practice. So it’s hard to develop a guy that can’t practice.

It’s not the greatest football. The outcome on the scoreboard doesn’t matter much. But development and judgement of talent is crucial. Gotta find these guys anywhere you can. The difference of a guy making the roster or going to another team depends on it. Clement had several quality moments in the preseason. Undrafted but stuck. Ended up with 100 receiving yards in the Super Bowl. So to me every evaluation of these depth guys is crucial. Like NC brought up...the Philly Special was our backup QB, undrafted RB and third string TE. Last season we didn’t keep enough pass catchers on the roster and it bit us big time. Terribly obvious mistake. Probably should of prevented us from the postseason.

North Dakota St is making the jump to Division 1

The nations economy is down. Fans, I don’t think, are expected in the stands this season. So revenues will be down for the NFL. Which will mean the salary cap will go down with it. There is one obvious way to pump fresh money into the league. Expand! That’s right. The Texans pumped in 700 million to become a franchise. That has been many years ago now. Adding that kind of new money could help lessen the financial blow. I’m not saying I’m for it. But they have to be considering it.

The bison???? Wentz team???? I mean from what I have seen and heard they were absolute powerhouse in D2....And really even the bottom tier D1 teams couldn’t compete against them

Come on y'all know It's not abut Disrespecting the flag. It's about Racist cops acting like they did in the days of Slave patrols, killing black people. Just know that police brutality on black people and people of color them days are about to end ..either peacefully, or otherwise. I get a FEW people want the Good Old Days back. FOR SOME. Slavery were never good days for black people. Y'all know, beatings, rape, murder, stealing blacks property, it's all in the history books. After 400 yrs of that BS hahahahaha. ENOUGH.. Outcast huh. That a New Code word ...hahahaha.come on.

Thats where the disconnect is. To many it is a disrespect to the flag whether they want it to be or not. Maybe to those kneeling it is not and I get that. But to a lot of people it is for their own reasons. Works both ways is the point. Im not getting into the whole race topic. Just saying those that defend it are fine, they have that right, but they cant tell those who feel it is disrespectful that they are wrong and should just go with it. I felt Malcolm Jenkins was wrong for telling Drew Brees he was not allowed to have his own view. However I liked that Jenkins found a different way to show his protest by raising his fist instead of kneeling. I give him much respect for that. He found a way to protest while thinking of those who were against the kneeling. Worked for all parties.

NFLPA voted against having any preseason games. Could be a showdown looming. The League knocked it down to two games.

Been a long time since last season. Carson has so many abilities. He does a great job of reading the defense. Excellent at throwing on the run. Just look at the different balls he throws. Some with that zip, like the one to Sanders in the back corner of the endzone that goes by three guys outstretched arms. Still don’t know how he Houdini zipped that pass in there. But then he also utilizes his height and can put a slight touch on throws to just arc and clear over a defender. So many very beautiful plays.

Time for his MVP season now!

Should be his 2nd MVP season not even being biased but he should have still been MVP in 2017 no player was better then him that season even with him only playing 13 games

Tom Brady(2017) 4,577 yards 32 tds 8 ints

Carson Wentz(2017) 3296 yards 33 ints 7ints also add another 299 yards on the ground that year.

Wentz in 13 games had the 2nd most Td passes in the league that year only got beat out by Wilson who had 34. And honestly just the eye test that year no player dominated the way Wentz did if Wentz can get back to that form be fun to watch him and Mahomes battle it out in a game

If he and the rest of the offense can stay healthy, they can be very dynamic. I hope they do and are.

Brady won the award. Gurley was actually second. Our boy finished third. I can’t really complain about those results. If Carson doesn’t get injured he wins the award is what I’d say. But he did. Third place for MVP is still an incredibly elite spot. Especially since he missed the last few games. That was a sick season!

Plenty of growth for these guys ahead. Sanders taking another step forward will just makes him scary good. Scott looked to just get better with each game. Arcega-Whiteside looks to have the game in him to me. Dang PAC-12 getting their guys late to the pros their rookie season never helps. I see no reason he shouldn’t take a jump forward this year. Everything is setup for him to grab the X job. Alshon shouldn’t be ready to start the season. Wentz has to see this and know how crucial it is to develop this young second round pick. It will...and must be done. Wentz found comfort with Ward. See no reason he shouldn’t take another huge leap forward. Goedert is ready for whatever is thrown his way. Pedey needs to find ways to get Reagor involved early. Go routes, screens, endarounds, jetsweeps....whatever. Got to put the ball in this dynamic players hands. Pryor and Dillard are a huge piece to the puzzle. Two young big Oline that we now are relying on. These two might be the most crucial parts to develop. Stout has to get these guys rolling. So many young pieces that could become the building blocks for years to come. It needs to happen.

There's a lot of work and growth to do on offense, that's for sure.

I'm not convinced they all make it though. I have serious reservations about JJAW and I have some concerns about Dillard's strength and sustainable physicality. If he's been working on strength, Pryor should be OK at RG. Sometimes WR's take a couple years to hit their stride so, they're a mystery right now. I hope they learn quick and show enough in their rookie year to instill confidence going forward. Reagor should do that. The others? Have to wait and see I suppose.

I feel real good about Wentz, Sanders, both TE's, and D-Jax (if healthy). I want to see Seumalo improve a lot. Kelce and Lane are still great so if LG is good to go, helping Dillard if needed won't be a big deal.

LMAO,ok tell me where in the world there is no covid to expand to? You want to invest billions into London,China mexico City with 15 fans that show? Doubtful.I think the NFL is in "hang on " mode like many businesses. As for Goodell,he can KMA and I won;t be buying gear this year. After working decades to end segregation, they are pushing us into segregation-.pathetic.I will kneel for the new "anthem" and stand for the real one.if we are not ALL Americans,243 years of history means ZIP
