Well obviously you play the best player, so maybe he can reach his potential. I don't think that is "cheerleading". He will either reach his potential or we will find someone better, so JSB is just pointing out that he is making progress. I really don't care if he is all pro/ pro bowler. Protect my QB. His last game(the tank game) he had no hurries,so that's what you build off of

How is he making progress at the moment?   You can build off things things by continuing to play a guy?    All 132 things are going right for the Eagles? Can we see it play out a little first?   Same with all 132 things going wrong with all the other teams.  Show me on the field.

yeah the Harris signing is really excellent. I hope we give him a team he wants to stick with later(remains to be seen). Those 2 S signings really take some pressure off the draft. I like my mock, but could easily see us hitting more defense than I have. TTR pointed out the 1 year could be a covid BS thing. Some are scared to commit long term. Can't blame them(or the team) for doing 1 years for now

Salary cap thing is more relevant.  The players want to take the one year deal and get a bigger contract when the cap increases.

Why I don't see the motivation for Barnett to sign a long term deal for anything less than $10 mil per year?  Whe he can take the $10 mil and go into the open market next year where the prices go up.

At the moment? IDK,maybe he is reviewing himself taking snaps and finding out how he can improve his techniques. there ARE things you can learn OFF the field

I don't disagree. This kid is the perfect example of what is wrong with the Eagles in the big picture.    He needs to be on the field.

Maybe he will be if we now have a competent staff

Even Herbig doesn't think he should be on the field ahead of Brooks.

So maybe your perfect example of what is wrong with the team is only perfect inside your head.

Right... That is the big picture issue.   Players like Brooks taking away the reps from the younger players who have a shot of being here down the road.

Are the Eagles in win now mode like you seem to think Cincy is...because we have guys like Brooks and signed a safety approaching 30 to a one year deal?      Where does this leave Herbig?

You play to win in 2021,can very easily hurt your development for 2022 and beyond.    Which is it?  Commit to one of them 100%.   At this point, the smart move is to put tge future of the team at the forefront.   Watching Herbig and Driscoll for example... those guys absolutely showed something last year, it's smart to allow them to keep playing and playing next to each other.   The growing pains that are necessary.  Like what our division went through recently.

There is this thing. . Idk if it's fear or losing too much or just denial that we are not a contender.   But it seems to permeate the fanbase where we can't go all in with development of young players if it means maybe sacrificing some wins?

You get 2 good years of Brooks.   What does that do for Herbig,as compared to if he played 32 NFL games.  And even better if he played 32 games next to the same guy, both being young and part of the future?

This " let the young guys learn from watching"   it's code for... I can't admit my team isn't a contender so I need to win now...now and now.

One thing I will say... as a plus... all these older guys that restructured. They needed the cap relief now, so the deals were made.  If they trade some of these guys after June 1 or during the season before the trade deadline,  I think they left themselves open to do it.  If they make those type moves to get players like Herbig more reps...then I will give them credit .

Originally(I believe) we got Herbig as a C. Maybe that is OUT now, but if that is the plan we need to start letting him take reps there at least in garbage time. I have no idea who our future C is, but we better start working on one.

And we best get a punter in here for those numerous 4th downs we may have lol. We have Sippos. IDK anything about him. I didn't know we picked him up either

I’d draft a Punter if I was Philly use a 6th or 7th rounder on a promising guy. Let him compete with Sippos and go from there.

Rumor is Eagles in talks with the bears about St.Nick

Sipp has been around some. IDK that that position needs "competition". Either you can kick or you can't. I didn't know we even signed him

Dude is 28 and never kicked in the NFL lol I’m definitely fine using a late pick on a Punter or brining in an UDFA. Competition never hurts anyone even kickers and punters. Hell I’d bring in kicking competition for Elliott as well dude was horrible last year definitely should just be given the job

Who gives a rats butt where he kicked? LMAO, either you can kick the ball far or you can't. Seems he did fine at Auburn. I see no reason to spend another draft pick on one. If he can't kick I'm sure they will find that out fairly quickly

We must have signed him for a REASON. I don't think they got this guy in the parking lot

Lmao yea to compete to be a Punter why did Detroit draft him to compete with there punter... see a trend competition. Again I’m perfectly fine with grabbing a punter with a late pick or grabbing couple UDFAs.

See no reason why to just hand a guy a job.

UDFA fine, see no reason for it if you vetted him to start with. I dont really care what Detroit does

Want me to list every other team that brings guys in to compete as well not an uncommon thing to do. Competition across the nobody should be handed a job.

Mmmm if you got coaches that go to the strength of players then Adoree makes sense he can play man maybe not much of a press CB though. And we have interest in him.

I am not sure how we can say what the new regime prefers when they have never been coordinators before we are assuming they will run similar things as Indy but they likely aren’t going to run carbon copies.

If you get Adoree and Slay together that is a good duo build the secondary around there strengths if that means going but more off man do so

I think you could let Adoree and Slay just man up a ton. Secondary coach becoming a DC.....I think he’d like that idea.
