7 games is absolutely doable this year if the older vets stay healthy.  The year or two after that will be the true test as these players retire, leave or start to fade.

I'm hoping this draft to get some decent weapons in here.We got 2 nice safeties in,so that "position of need" has been quelled at least for now. This makes my mock look all the better. Not that anything hinges on that. Getting Pitts at 6 and my WR guy in 3,would really give the O some PUNCH. Need a CB at 37, I don't see any other possibility. LB always a need, but we have to start thinking about Kelce and maybe Lanes replacements. There are some nice OG"s in this draft also. It's tough because we need about everything,so I hope there is a nice balance of O and D in this draft. The 2 FA D signings help. I would like to get another RB in FA or the draft. This O functions much better with a 1/2 RB punch. Looking for alot of young D linemen as WIPS/projects. Barnett and Jjaw need to show me something and for all I care Jjaw can go away in camp(lol). I was never a fan

This is year two for Hurts. Got him for four years(second round pick). Team definitely isn’t going to be there. So year three and four....that’s the target. Try and build a great team up around him. That also looks about like the window of several very quality vets on this team.

Correct and then when it's obvious that he isn't the guy.... there is somewhat of a team there for the next guy to work with.  In the meantime.... enjoy the running and some highlights.

LOL well if we got Wilson, I doubt Hurts would have an issue being QB 2. If we got a trade offer for him ok NP

Why would a Wilson or Watson want to come here?

I still think this a lost concept of how this is NOT a place to come and compete anytime soon?    It's the main reason the other guy wanted to leave.  We are no better than Seattle or Houston.... and the division is no longer pathetic.  I think these are concepts that are having trouble being understood.

For me, the free agent signings have zero effect on the draft.   One year deals in a season where they aren't going anywhere means nothing .    On offense, I want to see the young guys play.   Reagor,  Fulgham, Hightower and Watkins... along with Goedert and Sanders.  If anything I compliment them late in the draft with another RB and blocking type TE.

To me the focus needs to be long term and toward the line of scrimmage.   Especially the DL that could very easily fall of a cliff soon.  Anything defensive helps too.  I'm looking at age of my team as a factor for this draft.  You want the sizzle or flash of the offensive skill position, that's fine. But we were supposed to draft that last year..  but the cancer that left for Indy ruined it all.  So let's see a full off-season with Mr Intangible at QB and how they all develop together.    Perfect scenario might be trade back and grab a CB, Parsons or DL.  I'm even good grabbing another CB in round 2 if it's the best player.

The idea of trying to fill out a team right now is not my idea of the right way to do it. We need to be finding our next core group.  That said,  these picks can't be misses either.  So hard for me to argue against Pitts and another WR in round 3 if they are good and hindsight these other WRs like Reagor or Fulgham turn out to be disappointments.  I just think the  D is hanging on by a thread with these older guys and the offense is more potential with the younger guys and new system, the non sexy approach might be the way to go this year.

I am under the impression that it's understood Foles is a backup.   I think it's understood by everyone on the planet except a blind portion of our fan base.  None of these guys on offense have any misconception of Foles... they are all in for Hurts.    I also don't think he hurts his legacy here at all.   He had the stars align for him in 2017 and he did well at the right time.  Nothing changes if he has to go in due to an injury to Hurts and does his normal thing, no expectations with this roster.

My only negative would be the contrast in styles.. I think it's better to keep things consistent for the other guys and just get another running QB.  This way they can practice all the same stuff from day 1 of OTA to the last practices in December/ January.

Although I think bringing back foles would be disaster, HR could be trying to save face here. Trade Ertz for Foles straight up. Gaining a back up QB and ridding himself of Ertz. Basically a swap of cash I think. At least we have a back up QB. Not sure I like this idea though. We will have a bunch of uneducated fans calling for him to start week 2.

If you can snag Watson though....Hurts isn’t Watson. In fact Hurts would be a perfect complimentary backup to Watson

I take it you haven't been following the news reports?

Week 2?

I am giving them a benefit of a doubt that they will want to at least see hurts play week 1.... Could be wrong.

Joe Flacco coming in for a visit

As for St Nick, he would fortify the team but I don't see him improving it. Hurts is experienced in battling, losing and winning the starting position, so don't see that aspect being a problem. All starting positions are/should be a battle! Hurts deserves to fight for a starting position but in no way should be handed it. Foles as well, although I believe he could teach Hurts a few things like his pocket presence, that calmness players in the huddle said was scary.

There's really no rush in finding that "franchise" QB - build the team 1st. Develop a plan, get a bunch of young guys, develop them, lower the cap to the point where if we're just a few positions away, we can afford it.

If only Howie worked that way.....

Adoree didn’t sign with NY yet at least coming to the visit with Philly today it seems... Need to make it happen be a massive signing for us

Secure up our secondary allow us to focus in other areas in the draft

I wouldn't keep my hopes up. We do not have the capital to sign him I think. Would plug a hole in our dam, but there are many more to address.......

SO that's it ,just stop trying?  Throw in the towel?  If so why are we fans at all? We can come back abd root for us when we are winners? Thats not a true fan. We were bad for a multitude of reaons. Maybe now we will improve on a multitude of reasons. WHY would Wilson choose CHICAGO as one of his destinations? They aren't much better than we are

Depends on the signing duration. IF you have 12 needs and 11 picks, yeah you can fix one of those at least temporarily, so I disagree. Stopgap, Band-aids whatever you want to call them, are temporary fixes (thats why they are called that) it may not change my later picks because those are WIP's, but it sure effects the top part ,of your draft, since you can breath a little sigh of relief because out of the 11 spots you need with only 4 TOP draft picks(you know they guys that can help you right off) has been lowered to 10. By signing those S's we have kicked that down the road a year. Maybe longer is they like it here. SO, for me I can't issue a blanket statement the FA signings don;'t effect the draft. In some cases it does

What would be scary for Foles is if we had last years makeshift O line. I thought I saw a cheerleader playing ROT a few snaps

Rankins signed with the Jets, Still would look at Kwon Alexander. We always get one guy from the Saints fire sales

You should never not try. GB the issue is we do not have nearly the cash to pursue these two even if they would want to come here. We need to be realistic. I don't want Watson anyway. Wilson would be nice but he can basically choose where he wants to go I would think. Of course that is assuming Seattle would want to trade him....

I really not into this 'vet presence" BS. yeah I know they come CHEAP. I would rather draft a late QB and a UDFA and hire Bret Favre or Peyton Manning as an "advisor" lol

Lmao we had the capital to offer Juju a deal when his agent called.. I’m not worried about the ability to sign a guy

Joe was talking about "concept" and I was merely pointing out that as fan you struggle through the good and bad "concepts". I should know about losing since in Ohio I was Browns fan by default lol. We aren't paying a QB this year so why won't we have QB loot the following year(s)??? I was using Wilson as an example, but we need to make this team at least mildly enticing for QB's to want to play for us. I have zero idea what out new "concept" will be. We aren't SB bound, but I'm not a fair weather fan. Alot of people just are "fans" of winners. Amazing how many people are "bucs fans". THIS YEAR. next year that will change. True fans ride things out and suffer, like this board lol

Because we didn't coddle to him and he couldn't take the competition. I think there were many reasons he left, one was he SUCKED DONKEY BALLS and I don't want to hear the bad O line excuse because he was missing wide open guys when he DID have time and tossing uneeded picks when the play was to THROW IT AWAY, but no, trying to play heroball.

Not interested if they're using creative accounting to sign a FA.

I'd rather they suck up the cap issues for a year and get back on track financially

You mean like Hurts at Alabama?

Nothing do with trading., he will be a FA after this year if they don't re-sign him. He has stated the teams he would go to IF,IF they were to trade him THIS year(we are not on that list right now)

I’d rather get a guy 25 going into the prime of his career. Also not all that creative you sign the guy his cap hit is lower year 1 goes up year 2 and 3 ohhh so creative lol
