I gotta be honest. This is roster filler to me with Flacco. I imagine the cap hit is almost nothing by the time all the technicalities get calculated.   I get the style thing, but my bigger thing was that there is no incentive to put Flacco in.  Why, to get a worse draft pick? It's decoration like I wanted.  Not a running QB type decoration, but none the less we got a guy nobody cares to want to see play and probably barely any cap hit.   I wouldn't worry, shouldn't change any plans.  They would draft one at 6...  late round  or UDFA regardless of which meaningless vet was signed.

Just worry about Pitts for now... and that 2022 comp pick for Ertz.

Just keep spending in the future over a bad team. There was no need to spend this money. Basically the money we could save by ditching Ertz. Rather just keep Ertz than have signed Flacco.

More than 7/20 for 72 yards.... or you want to talk about his what 53% vs one of the worst Ds in football in Dallas to go along with 2 ints????

Insane! He had a end of the season....nothing to play for....half a team.

Hurts biggest knock is his durability? That’s news to me. He seems real solid to me. Not sure why you are labeling him so injury prone?

Did you READ the post? I said ZIP about durability, his knock is he is a 1 read QB

Kelce(Pro Bowler), Brooks(Pro Bowler) and Johnson(Pro Bowler)

Can they complete a season? Any of them getting younger every year?

Love all the excuses for terrible play lmao but you want to tout those 340 yards garbage time stats can’t have it one way

And he has something to play for here now? Let's forge ahead by signing more retreads, BRILLIANT!!!! Flac is the father of the QB factory!!!!!!!

I'm picturing using Flaco on downs 1,2. After he gets sacked twice, we stick in Hurts to run those 22 yards we lost on the first 2 downs. Since we have no punter may as well go for it on 4th down too!!!  Exciting stuff, the writers are gonna love this team(fail)

I am worried about Pitts, before it was that he wont be there at 6, now it's that he will be there and we go QB. Siri has to be livid because now he will need 2 sets of offensive playbooks, one for each style QB. Nice way to make your new staff look like crap (so Howie can blame them for failure again)

I suppose though that Siri has a head start on this with having 2 style QB's in Indy with Rivers and Briss. I just think it's a pointless exercise in futility

My hope is that the QB sweepstakes of picks offered to trade down > one pick of Pitts to the teams.

We deliberately tanked the game(wisely I might add). Reagor even went out hurt early. The backups...backup was in blocking.

That is an opinion,I said nothing about Hurts durability

And Suds went in

It’s not they don’t want him. It’s they didn’t want to EXTEND him. So he feels very underpaid. He also knows how crucial the timing of a new contract was against the clock of Father Time.

Didn't and don't...2 different things.  Now, they want to trade him, they want the cap space.  You can sugarcoat it however you like.... right now,  they want to unload him and everyone knows.   There is no leverage,  he isn't that good for them to play hardball.  If he was a player that should get a 1st round pick in return,  then it's different.  To worry about sqeezing a day 3 pick is bad business. Then and now.... 2 different things.

How can I grow into the player I know I can be? What does that look like? Who’s around me? Who’s going to help me get there? Just finding that, I think that’s where my head is. It’s all about growth. I’m all about growth and I’m all about learning.

"I’m very appreciative of this opportunity and I want to take advantage of it. I’m all about how can I help this team get to where we want to be? How can I become a better quarterback for this team? I have a lot of experiences that I can learn from, we will be better from.”

A bad player with a good attitude... that's great.   When they flush him to his left and he has to throw without leverage,  watch how he struggles.

You need to use your eyes, not read off stats.     We have Bobby Hoying as an example of great stats for one game. The planets align sometimes for a bad QB, another great example is the kid from Green Bay that was signed by Seattle the year they drafted Wilson.... phenomenal game Stat wise for Green Bay , ended up a dud.

I mean a 43 yard TD was basically a forfeit screen pass that AZ let Watkins score due to miscommunication and nobody taking their gaps.  They left Reagor wide open twice on dump off passes.

I'm not worried about the attitude,  it's the skulls that concern me.  He needs to show that he can function if they take away his running.  So far 4 non productive 2nd halves of games.  A huge trend with the idea that once they figure out the new guy, he can't play well.

He had Brett Toth making his first start at Tackle and Matt Pryor as the other T.

Wentz?  Yeah, the Eaglss offense had all 11 positions with players who played their first ever NFL snap.   I agree, not really smart to judge results based off a last year, you really just want to use your eyes and see if a QB can make all the throws.   That is my concern for Hurts.   What I know..  he can run, a great thing for a college QB. Not going to win anything come playoff time with a QB running double digits per game.

I would wager cap hit is probably almost nothing...between signing bonus and using the vet designation.  Probably couldn't do that with Brissett or Taylor... would this be a 4th team for Taylor?  Brissett would be #3.

I'm picturing seeing Flacco practice highlights,  due to never playing in a game.

Siri is perfect coach for this. He went through it in Indy.

Papa Flacco,  the Italian father of the QB 🏭.

Agreed,  I read it wrong too, but if he switches it around, you can see what he means....

Being a one read QB ..... his biggest knock.... that guy won't last long.    Easy misunderstanding.

You are describing the whole season for Wentz though.    Practice with 2nd or 3rd string all week....then 4th and 5th stringers have to come in.

I agree with not judging by " results " of 2020.    I'm just using what my eyes saw. My concern is that Hurts can't make all the throws needed in the NFL.  But I absolutely want to give him a 16 game look.  I'm ok giving him a 32 game look if needed.   By the end, I need it to be obvious to guys like you that he can't be a winning starter on this league. Leaving zero doubts we need to move on.   Or he proves guys like me and BG wrong.  One way or the other, there should be no doubt.

There should be zero doubt, one way or the other with Hurts....Can he be a winning starter or not?    We need to give him every chance to show it!!!

in the meantime,  let's build a team around him.  Spend as little cap hit and draft ammo as possible on QB...  and don't make any decisions based on signing a guy like Harris....lol.

For anyone who likes to quote PFF.

Especially for those who like Hurts.

PFF has QB as our top need.   WR is #2.

This is according to what they graded last year... not Wentz, Alshon or DeSean...but Hurts and the guys still here.

They are young with room to grow, but this is PFF , you  can't just use their ratings part of the time if it fits your agenda, but not when it doesn't.

It's why I don't Iike to use them at all.  Too many X factors and degree of difficulty never taken into account. Being graded with an easier assignment ( an easier guy to block or cover) doesn't tell the whole story.

Joe Flacco was hired to be a tutor to Hurts.

Hard to buy. 2 totally different styles. Really SMH on this one. Like trying to teach an indy car driver to run at Daytona
