Really it's an easier move with 2 round 1's than what we had getting Wentz(if I recall)

Sure I don’t deny it but as I stated I’d rather keep all picks if and I know it’s a HUGE IF I can ge toy guy just staying at 6

I mean one of hurts biggest flaws is his ability to work in the pocket was even mention more then a few times to leave the pocket way to soon when protection was good.

Having the ability to run should be a bonus but your job as a QB should be to beat teams with your arm first and foremost. So maybe just maybe he couldn’t aid in that aspect of Hurts game if he is the guy

I'm sure he could offer some pointers, but really the style differences are at both ends of the spectrum, so this is a SMH moment for me

I just think a Qb at 6 makes Howie look bad,and he hates that because people would now say "why did you waste that 2 pick on Hurts?" I would be one of them

Spinning the Hurts pick wouldn’t be hard for Howie. What I think Howie should be more concerned on is his job to if he goes Hurts he is tying his job to him. And if Hurts fails he should be out the door with him(or I’d hope so at least probably won’t be the case)

Well we keep bashing Howie, but how much of this BS is Lurie? NEITHER of them are "football guys". That helps noone

If Lurie is smart,he should tell Howie to butt out of this draft(him too) and let the new staff pick their guys. Lurie needs to take Howie to Maui, lay on the beach with umbrella drinks and watch some football guys draft a team for him

Part of my thoughts on QB is also the coaching change letting Siri and Co. get there guy. If they are 100% behind Hurts I say so be it but if they want someone else think they should have that option

We just differ on what comes first the chicken or the egg lol

If Hurts does REALLY well, the we have 2 round 1's next year and combined with what I HOPE to get this year, thats a nice team, If he isnt so hot,we are still 1/2 way through a rebuild

No wrong way to build a team really just have to make the picks count lol... If we don’t hit on draft picks won’t matter what positions we draft

Obviously. You can do the top down or bottom up theory. Getting Wentz we put a new roof on the house, then we preceded to watch the foundation crumble. I'm not putting on another new roof

I have to admit with this Flacco grab we could be looking at a QB now. Totally different style than Hurts. But if we seek a pocket passer THIS year, Flac is a good teacher. I DONT see him helping Hurts hardly at ALL

Only good thing about Flacco is we are not getting Foles!

Carolina signed Denzel Perryman at LB,they are putting a team together and I expect them to move to 2,4 in this draft(IDK that they have the draft capital to go to 2) 4 is possible,or they could choose to stay at 8 and maybe get lance there, unless they have a high expectation of someone else . IMO ATL trades back and takes lance,he has the tools and could sit behind Ryan. Carolina needs a starter. At 4 they could have one

Yes, key point hit on here. Who feels comfortable enough to take Lance in the first? By most every account I’ve heard he has majors skills and arm. Experience and NFL readiness....not so much. Of the top six he appears least NFL ready....but with huge upside. Who can afford to swing like that? Tough to go for full in developmental first round pick. Somebody needs huge balls to pull the trigger on that.

Oh no supporting cast in Bama I guess lol. Hell they would make ME look good. Did he win the title at Oklahoma?

Second in the Heisman to the guy that broke every college record. So any other season....he’s the Heisman winner...easy

And nearly the same % of picked passes. C'mon Ham you gotta take the good and the bad, you only sort out what you want to see. I am not anti-Hurts, but let's put the pom poms back in the trunk and see what he does over the course of a season. he will be learning along the way

The negative is fair. But I’m just not going along with Hurts only a running QB. If you are throwing for 340 yards in your second start....you can throw the ball. I’m not saying he can’t improve...quite the opposite. He made mistakes...those can also be tightened up. We had a struggling offense. To put up some passing like that says something.

Nah,I could totally forsee ATL trading back with Carolina and taking him at pick 8 to develop behind Ryan. They have plenty of time to get him ready

Said I will give him his shot. Most don't break out until year 3. He played last year even before he started, so let's see what he's got year 2 and go from there

I'll get half way to excited when he passes for 300+ on a consistent basis and spreads the ball around.

From what I read of Lance he is viewed as possibly more nfl ready then most QBs coming out. He comes from a family with pro backgrounds, he called all his own protections at the LoS. He had multiple reads and went through them. On top of only being 20.

The knock can be he only played 1 year  it all that said I think he is further along then Hurts with way more upside

Didn't we hear all of this about another certain NDSU QB a few years ago?

IDK what happened to Wentz. He was extra crappy on an extra crappy team. IDK that it was 100% his fault, but he was not the same after the concuss. I guess we will know this year watching indy

And didn’t that other NDSU QB play a massive part in our Sb run... I know terrible final year here but let’s not act like the other years didn’t happen lol willing to bet he gets back to form in Indy as well
