In the past we used to hope for divisional splits. I don't see that this time. I don't think we beat the Gnats. 0-2 vs Dullaz. we may split one with the Wuss, so for me 1-5 in divisional games and this is a bad division lol. 6 wins is possible for me, 7 would be overachieving. 6-11 or 7-10 with some luck

I see that range 6- 7 wins, with luck being 8 or 9 wins.    I disagree that the division is bad though. I can easily see all 3 of the other teams with minimal 8 wins.  Might get 2 playoff teams and one of them might actually win a playoff game.

Thats a plus, moving from "BAD" to mediocre lol

I hope this team is really good (unlikely) or really sucks

Other wise we'll be in middle of the draft hell

Sometimes it's a great place to be. After the rest of the teams fight over the top 10,you could end up with a top 10 pick at 15 lol

WIlson would be a good fit in NC(IMO). Some think they will move to 2, but IDK if they have the draft capital to do it. Jet's hold all the cards in this draft. They will milk that 2 pick until there is 3 seconds left on the clock lol

Am I the only one that would rather keep those picks??? Idk if I had the chance at QB sitting at 6 that I like I’d take it so I can keep all my picks.

I like what we can do with the roster more with two first next season over just the one first rounder this year.

I would use 6 and both picks next year on the roster.    No need for QB yet.   As Ham says Hurts is a worker... let him work 2 full years.   Maybe then it will leave no doubt.  I also think that the draft position in 2023  could be higher than 6.  If not,  at that point you had 2021 and 2022 drafts, 2022 and 2023 free agency to add .. before getting the QB.  The QB can step into a better situation with younger guys who could be here longer than Kelce, Brooks, Lane etc.

Just doesn’t fit your narrative that your Running QB threw for sooooo many yards.

Because when a receiver catches a screen pass and goes untouched for 43 yards..  I don't look at it as a 43 yard pass... Like when a pop up lands in baseball,  it's still a single, but not a great hit.

But to get that QB next year you could have to give up both 1s and more to do so. Over being able to get your guy this year at 6 and keep all your picks.

I get the logic on your way and fine if we go that route just stating the way I think about it though.

I agree with you...my order...

1. No QB at 6 or next year

2.  QB at 6 ...use next year for other

3.  Pick 6 non QB , and use 2 next year for QB.

Makes sense to only use one pick instead of 2.  It's why I would use none.  Especially looking at the situation,  if Hurts is bad this year with the old dudes on the OL, why would he be better a year from now?   Should only be worse and create a better pick in 2023.  Fill in as many holes, then you can even trade up like with Wentz if necessary like 2016.   Get him a year to get his feet wet, then another good off-season and compete in 2024, but with a relatively young roster with some guys in their primes.

I see moving from lower end of mediocrity in 2021, to bad in 2022.  I think we just fell off a cliff, hit the ground in 2020, the bounce up after the landing is 2021, then the fall where we don't bounce.

Now we actually have to get up from the ground on our own at this point, not the bounce from the fall.  It needs to be done the right way.  No spending picks or $ on a backup QB. And not letting Harris effect the long term decision.  Otherwise,  I see us trying to get up but then falling right back down.

Depends for me Joe. Mailata could be pro bowl, OR(see the or???) maybe he has already peaked and needs replaced. Dillard is a ? We could retain some of the secondary guys we got. You are assuming the young guys we already have gotten the past 2 years are DOA and that may not be true. I will wait to decide if I need a QB next year. I believe we take a WR maybe 2 this draft, they will have a year in next year. Reagor can't get much worse. I'm not predicting we are playoff bound, but also not predicting we fall totally off a cliff. Sanders was less than stellar and now we have a coach who may RUN THE BALL and not give that up. Adding another RB would be helpful and these picks we make this year could pan out after a years coaching. SO I am not seeing things as dark as you. We have 11 picks, hopefully a few of those late picks can rise to at least BU level(not that I am drafting BU's but that usually what you can expect after round 4-5). I also am hopeful this new staff is better than the last one and they can develop those young guys the previous staff could not. Of course Howie (or whomever) needs to draft right all the way through. There are alot of questions that will be answered this year,so for me I can't lay out a 2022 plan. I want to see Kelce's replacement play,or if he isn't already on the roster we need to get one(even a UDFA at C is fine- I like the kid from Stanford). Getting Pitts and a WR before the day 3 draft could go a long way. I don't see us sucking for 2-3 years,I believe after this year, if the draft goes well and the staff performs and we dont give up RUNNING THE BALL,we will be in better shape than you believe. I also like the Stanford QB, he should at least become a #2 and get another UDFA and let them battle it out. Not expecting a franchise QB out of those 2, but solid BU's. That would pave the way for us to take a QB in round 1 in 2022. All this is a tall order, I can't argue that, but my thoughts are it's not going to be a fall off the cliff deal. I just need a FEW guys like Reagor and a few new draft picks to play well. We cannot coddle anymore. I see that as a big past issue and we need to lose guys that aren't cutting it(for a plethora of reasons) Jjaw needs to show me something. All those rostered RB's need to put up or go away. Same with the WR's. I dont care what you did LAST year on a crap team with a crap QB. Choose well who is a WIP and who is a waste of resources and of course the BIG DOG is to keep these guys ON THE FIELD. Noone is learning squat from the mash tent and I dont care how good you were in camp. Why do we still have guys like Clement? If Holyfield stinks let him GO!!! and my god lets identify the players to NOT get rid of because TOO many go on to play well AFTER they leave here. So I will bash this team like we all do, but there ARE some PLUSES I can't /won't overlook. I like the fact we got some secondary guys in here that will EXPOSE the weak WR's in camp. Our secondary has been so bad for so long our WR's never get tested, then they STINK against "real" secondary players,so that should help some. This year I just want to see consistency W or L. Play 60,not the 30 or 20 under "Pedstrian Pederson" let's see some NOT predictable play calls and I think we'll look better than you think or at least we'll know where the weaker links are(LB as always lol)

The negative is fair. But I’m just not going along with Hurts only a running QB. If you are throwing for 340 yards in your second start....you can throw the ball. I’m not saying he can’t improve...quite the opposite. He made mistakes...those can also be tightened up. We had a struggling offense. To put up some passing like that says something.

I gotta be honest. I didn't really see mistakes as much as just not being good throwing the ball.

I'll get half way to excited when he passes for 300+ on a consistent basis and spreads the ball around.

And it's not screen passes where our guys aren't covered.

IDK what happened to Wentz. He was extra crappy on an extra crappy team. IDK that it was 100% his fault, but he was not the same after the concuss. I guess we will know this year watching indy

Yes we will, then it won't be so hard to figure out.

I think we will be OK this year.   You just stated a lot of ifs.    But never brought up replacing all the older guys... that is why I see 2022 a down swing from 2021.  Have a great draft,  are 2nd year guys going to be as good as Kelce,  Lane, Brooks, Graham,  Slay...etc?  A lot to ask.

Well in a way I did address it. Last year really indicated ZIP as far as young guys player development, they were tossed into a firestorm, not brought along slowly, with confidence, so they had it fairly harder than usual. They did the best they could with limited coaching and a coach who couldn't decide where players were supposed to play. Maybe that helped speed the process, IDK, but I hope to find out this year. Hard for me to just write off the previous years young guys, so maybe out of that group one steps up this year to take the reins

From what I read of Lance he is viewed as possibly more nfl ready then most QBs coming out. He comes from a family with pro backgrounds, he called all his own protections at the LoS. He had multiple reads and went through them. On top of only being 20.

The knock can be he only played 1 year  it all that said I think he is further along then Hurts with way more upside

Upside is through the roof. That’s the coach killer there though.

Playmaking!

I love the idea of Hurts distributing to his playmakers....to make plays. Heck let’s get him the next Julio Jones or Davante Adams. See how good of a QB he is.

The next Tony Gonzales would be fantastic as well.

Those guys will still be making a go of it in 2022. 2023 a little bit more of a question mark. But I could see the older players having a strong year there. Got some real good players making their final  run coinciding with Hurts rookie deal.

Yeah, I don't see how it could be worse really. If you look back though we lost some games by very slim margins. Make those plays and those turn into W's. Kick the FG's instead of failed 4th and 2's. We could have won a few just using common sense lol

I really just feel both QBs could have hit on a few big play passes that were available.

Mmmmm sounds like Hurts coach killer even though he doesn’t even have the upside

LOL.   That play was awful from the AZ defensive standpoint... wasn;t playmaking, was 3 guys taking up same gap and letting him run through the other one.    Gotta be realistic here, not a homer on these things.   Fulgham some nice contested catches, Hightower some nice routes, Reagor showed a little flash with the speed.    Lets see what they have, and hope the QB doesn't limit them because he decides to run too often.

Would have been nice for the previous guy too,,, who already showed MVP level throwing to Alshon, Agholor and Ertz...  Would have been also nice to get McNabb these type of players too.  Shouldn't hesitate next time it's definite that we have a QB of that caliber.    QB, OL, #1 weapon... the rest you can fill in.
