Thinking more on this trade down those in favor of building the roster should be happy with it.

I mean at 12 we should still get a top 10 player especially if there are 3-4 QBs taken(maybe even 5) before we pick means someone has to fall to us.

If we looking for an O skill position player Waddle or Smith could be there or possibly both Bama WRs.

On the D side got Parsons, Horn, Farley as possible guys

After all that we still have 10 picks think what 3 more in the top 100 picks and a stacked deck in 22

That leaves us and Detroit, so my guess is that Pitts or Chase is available at 12, and I think it will be Pitts.

I don’t think so I think NY if they stay at two is realistic spot for playmaker or if they go OL hurts Miami.

ATL think they go skill position they want to trade down not sure they find anyone to.

Think Denver sits out of the QB market this year goes with lock they could take another skill position player.

Think at 12 our options are Waddle or Smith if we wanted WR which I don’t think we should go.

I say at 12 get a D building block think it’s the best value at 12. Though I want Parsons that’s unlikely so Horn is like a possibility

Agreed if choosing from Waddle/Smith and one of the top CBs I’d much rather grab Horn or Surtain there.

With the trade back I think you go with the young O

We have 5 young WRs 4 of which are all going into year 2(counting Fulham in this mix since last year was essentially his rookie year) find out what we have in those guys.

Majority of this draft to me should be D since I see the O as a unit that should be more ground ball control style with Hurts at the helm. The one thing I would look for in the draft is a bigger RB to mix in with Sanders/Scott

Yeah, if we draft Waddle or Smith, Ward goes to the bench. If we draft Horn or Surtain, Jacquet goes to the bench. That alone makes it an easy choice.

I hope Ward goes to the bench even without us drafting a WR.... Rather see a trio of Reagor Fulgham JJaw/Watkins/Hightower

Trolling the Jets boards. Their have lot of the same guys I have on my mock on theirs lol. The "fan" opinion is they take Wilson and START Darnold until Wilson is ready to take over sometime during the year

Jjaw stinks

Wishful thinking but he is only going into year 3 hoping new staff can better utilize him.

Who cares what year he is in lmao, if he stinks replace him. I can find better WR's in this draft DEEP into it that are better

Lmao probably but he is here he will compete so I hope for the best

IDK I would keep Ward over Jjaw

And they all are on roster lol I don’t want to hand anyone a job but to me I would like to see one of the trio JJaw/Hightower/Watkins to be able to beat Ward for a starting job.

Maybe the Fins could take Pitts at  6 where we were and get an OT with their 18 pick. I can see that

See Gerry's gone

Still believe JJaw will improve being utilized properly, maybe some team stability

DUH, yeah that why we draft, to replace guys on the roster lol. Isn't that the point??

Yep ATL is the threat to take Pitts, so moving back signals to me we would let Dullaz or the Gnats have him if ATL doesn't take him(and I dont care who they have a TE because Pitts is more than a TE). I know they have their hearts set on Surtain(Dullaz does),but if Pitts is there I also dont think they are stupid enough(unlike us) to let him get by them. You are talking Witten on steroids and I'm sure they would love to have him and take their CB in round 2. Once again I am picturing what we could offer a QB draftee in 2022, if last year we had taken JJ and this year got Pitts. Those are 2 nice weapons right there that we missed on(or will potentially miss on)

Nah... this move is a no-brainer for many reasons.

1. One player isn't going to make a difference at this stage.

2.  You got a first round pick, the value there in trades is very high.  You could package all 3 to get a Watson or Wilson if you like. Or even say 1 of them for a Diggs or Cooper or Jason Peters back in 2009.

3.  you are just all in with Pitts and have the blinders on with anything else.

4.  No guarantees Pitts or anyone else at the WR spot will be there at 6, we have needs all over the place,  pick 12 could easily be just as good as 6.

5. In addition to getting a 1st next year,  we just moved up a round from 5th to 4th with a pick this year, otherwise our day 3 would have been a huge wait,  we can move up now toward the top if a player or two falls to day 3.

6. Save a little cap space for that 1st pick,  which helps this particular year.

I understand Pitts is Jerry Rice and Gronk combined in your mind, and if we traded the rest of the draft and only got him you would probably be ok with it.  And I also think Pitts is going to be really good.  But this was easily the right play here.

Also don't understand the complaints about Ward, he comes through.

What is "properly"? As a WR either you can get open or you can't. The route really has little to do with that if you can't execute any of them. I saw JJaw on NOONES mock that early(if at all) with over 300 mock sites lol

Lmao that the hope they compete and win and become good players but your the one who seems to just want to throw guys away instead of competing.

Im perfectly fine if JJaw gets cut but until then I hope he competes and finally shows why he was a 2nd rounder.

LOL nope, but this is why we strive for .500. Say we "did the right thing" and got JJ last year, Pitts this year. While 1 player may not make a difference over the course of a few years ALL those guys make the difference

So what happens if after seeing Hurts all of 2021 they decide he isn't the guy and go grab their QB next year that fits the description of a true passing type QB?  Then similar to your DL/LB situation, you would have passed on a generational type skill position player for what would likely be a lesser player at another position.

First, I don't know about this " generational type player thing"   and second no guarantee that player would be there at 6.

Let's relax on a Jerry Rice or Gronk comparison at the moment.    And the big thing... the team has many needs.  Many... it's not basketball where 1 player changes the whole franchise.

This was an easy trade to make.

Didnt say cut him, I said I would keep Ward over Jjaw if it came to that decision. I hope we draft 2 that replace them BOTH

This is about as false as it gets lol. Sure I want Pitts and I still DO. If you saw my last mock Pitts wasn't on it was he??? SO that statement that I have blinders is false
