Curious if Philly would attempt to jump back in round late round 1 depending who falls... I mean likely do it with a 2nd and two late picks. Get another 1st rounder on a 5 year rook deal....

Only downside of Howie at the helm not sure i trust him much but two 1st rounders on rookie deals could be huge

If I were running the show, I would keep every draft pick. This has been such a strange year, and there are so many unknowns due to a lack of a combine/opting out/reduced number of games. It seems like this year more than ever is one in which a guy can slip through who is really talented. So having 11 picks is a big advantage, especially since we have so many holes to fill.

I mean we already traded once before the draft... Not saying we will trade again but have to keep an open mind as well.... If the cost is some late rounders to secure a guy I think that’s hard to pass up.

I mean I think to move up you have to have specific guy in mind can’t just trade up to trade up but say we got Parsons at 12 and Horn fell down to the late 1s would he be worth our 2nd and some late rounders to secure??? This is just a random hypothetical scenario

To me that when you trade up if a guy you had on your board at 12 falls into range in the late first to snag think you have to take that chance... You graded him high enough to take at 12... And as you stated this is a weird off-season and draft guys could easily slip so that opportunity could be there

Just interesting note with Waddle been seeing a ton of how many think he could have been the best WR in this draft of it wasn’t for his ankle injury... Seems to tie in with the sense Smith could fall in the draft...

Of course it could all be smoke and mirrors as well.

I’d feel a whole lot better taking Waddle or Smith had we done the smart thing and taken Jefferson last year.  One of them would pair nicely with JJ.  Not so much with Reagor IMO.

I agree i think Wadde/Smith are similar to Reagor and fit the same kind of role

They are actually all pretty different. Smith primarily plays the X, Waddle the slot and Reagor the Z. Smith was able to beat press coverage a lot (although he's not as physical as a guy like Chase obviously). Here's a tape from him against Stingley from LSU where he is facing press coverage a lot from a guy who will be a top 5 pick next year.

And this is him against South Carolina where Horn was on him several times in press.

According to Jason Avant, Reagor's biggest problem was that he couldn't beat press coverage, but Smith did it all the time in college against top corners.

Ok so Waddle could be the slot guy what do you do with him in 2 WR sets???  Is he on the bench then??? Smith not sure he plays the X in the NFL think he going to consistently win against bigger stronger faster CBs in the nfl this isn’t college anymore have to project guys to the NFL they don’t always play the same role as from college

Again point is don’t see us going with them way to similar to Reagor

But that just my opinion on them

In two WR sets, the second TE can play the X (two by two) so Waddle could stay on the field.

As far as Smith not facing top corners in college, the clips I provided were him beating press coverage from Stingley and Horn. I am not sure how much bigger or better NFL corners are going to get than those two guys.

They are not similar to Reagor. Reagor doesn't have the route running skills to be a slot or the ability to beat press coverage to be an X. He is a Z. Waddle and Smith can play all three spots. They are far better prospects.

So, I'm going to say we will regret this move down the road by putting ourselves behind 2 division rivals when we had the chance to get a good pick before they got them.If I'm dullaz I am THRILLED with the op to get Pitts, even if I have to move up a little

They....are...taking....a.....corner

IDk there are WR's that can help us  all through this draft, even into early 5. I see no reason to waste a top pick on one. Let them fall and find a value guy. Nothing wrong with guys like Cornell Powell or Amari Rodgers (both from Clem ranked in round 4). There are others there too, some earlier higher ranked guys could fall. I would not reach for one

Pitts vs almost every D back S Carolina had including Horn . Not a terrific blocker, but a willing one

Soooo he doesn’t have YAC ability Joe come on buddy your better then this yes he can catch the ball lots of guys can catch the ball well but what excites people about Pitts is the ability once the ball is in his hands

Engram struggles catching the ball.  Pitts goes up to catch it in traffic. Been his thing since he was in high school.  Very different.   You lob it up to Pitts...you end around hand off to Engram or throw him screens.

Travis Kielce, Gronk, Kittle all great at catching the ball what makes them special what they can do once they catch the ball.... Ertz great at catching not much after why he was never in the same tier

To add Gronk and Kittle were are both plus blockers... Not as sure with Kielce sure he is fine at blocking as well though

And totally different than Pitts.

This point I agree 100% ... it's why I hate when someone comments " this guy played in this system in college " and we pigeon hole him in that role.   Maybe for that team in that year or era, he had to play in that role.   But to tell me a 19 -21 year old kid has to be labeled already is kinda dumb IMO.

Especially when it comes to WR, LB or DB.   " he is a zone CB " how do you know..you haven't seen him in another system.  You never know how he can play when he gets to the pros and plays In a different system.

Another fundamental problem I have with this statement.  Should be obvious.  Are these two guys going to be the best CBs in the NFL?   That's pretty much what this statement says.

These guys are college prospects.  I think we go overboard when it comes to the college level ball and these draft picks.     The NFL is a whole different world.  I don't care what conference or team in college... college is not the NFL.

They are both going to be drafted in the top half of the first round of the NFL draft, so people who get paid to evaluate these kind of things believe they will be among the best corners in the NFL, or else they wouldn't get drafted that high.

I don't know what point you are trying to make, unless it's to be as obtuse as possible.

The Giants is my gut feeling.  Their coach is a local guy too.  They need the pass rusher, but Pitts may be hard to pass up to put in an offense with Golladay, Barkley and the rest.  Solidify that skill unit for a while... like a good thing to do for your QB who has shown he can make all the throws.

Your love for a guy that threw 11 TDs to 10 interceptions instead of Hurts is amazing. His highlight game he threw for 279 yards with two TDs and Two interceptions. Oh...and it was his second season

The Z you line up off the line of scrimmage making beating press much easier. I agree with your positional assessment on these three.
