If I can't buy Diggs,my next option is to find someone with that potential, could be Pitts,Chase or whomever, that is now my only option after painting myself into a corner

But we could have bought Diggs last year.  We bought Hargrave.  This year we shouldn't buy anyone yet, you are correct.   We draft and then keep that asset to see what happens. More options now.

Correct...like I said, this was a move for last year

Right.....in hindsight that would have been a terrible move for Diggs. Like I said you cant predict the future. As it stands doing that we would have paid out huge money for 2 years with about the results we got last year(and maybe this year). So hard to know if Diggs would have given us much more than what we had. At least my rooks are cheap and offer me flexibility(and money) going forward. Maybe I find my Diggs, maybe not but at least I have options like you said

So now the decision on draft day should be,is my Diggs at pick 12? I THOUGHT that would have been an easy decision at 6 and why I am questioning the trade back. Obviously the move was made for a QB next year. SO,after giving up your possible Diggs at pick 6(yes I know its just a possible) we will give that guy to a rival. So at 12 I can maybe find another Diggs,or I give that up and try to bolster my defense. With the recent FA safties, it is my conclusion that we will work on the secondary(I am still drafting another young S),but to lend credence to those 2 S pickup's we'd better get a worthy CB drafted, who can make our D better while our O guys are learning how to score points. Maybe those 2 are "placeholders" or maybe they get re-signed. Time will tell, but they bought us some time

But it's really not that hard to know.   Man I need this year to come fast so people come back to normal.   You spend so much time wanting Pitts because he will be a difference maker...yet a guy that changed the level of the Bills offense wouldn't have had an effect on a QB that just broke franchise records the year before with practice squad guys.    Why is it hard to see?  I really don't get it.  But when it's Mahomes ... everybody can see where the issue was his teammates.  Idk..  I don't get it.  I really don't.

Wentz isn't Josh lol. Stop assuming Wentz was good enough to even connect with Diggs. He was the 2nd worst QB in the league. IDK you could have put Diggs, Coop and anyone else in and they would have failed. That's not hard for me to know either

I don't think so...obviously with a franchise QB in place and a Diggs out there to be had... they don't put that as a priority.   They didn't with McNabb either.   And to confirm it...they has TO.   But obviously didn't feel he was important enough to pay.  Save that money for backup linemen.

So while you were thinking , let's get this weapon at 6.  I absolutely do not think they are.  They haven't for 30 years...at times with the QB set.   Why would they do it now?

So... prior to this year..  who did you have as the better QB?  If Buffalo would have offered Allen for Wentz, you would have taken it?    Lol.   Come on now.   Man I  can't wait for the season.

IDK either, my pick is Horn for the reasons stated. We stared an investment in the secondary. We need to finish it. Or at least get it off the ground. Why haven't we found another RB??? Love Sanders, but no RBBC really with Scott ALONE. So we never finish what we start and it shows

A look at the receiver situation of the teams in front of us.

A top three wide receiver should be available to the Eagles at pick 12 | PhillyVoice

It seems really likely that one of the top four pass receiving targets (Smith, Waddle, Chase, Pitts) falls to us, and my guess would be that it is Smith due to his size.

This would be a huge win for the Eagles, as many people were mocking Smith to them before the trade. To get him at 12 would be fantastic.

If Patrick Mahomes would have played 16 games with that OL he had in the SB... but take away Kelce and Hill... you don't think that matters.  Lol.  But not Wentz..  he was what lowered the bar for Hightower,  Watkins, and all the other studs?    Lol.

I think Wentz got PO'd when we drafted Hurts and he played like trash because he wanted out of not being "just me and only me". It's pretty sad when a players mother calls in to tell them how to play her son lol. I'm gonna guess Josh's mom hasn't called in yet

He was my initial 1 pick lol, before I got into Pitts

I don’t see it happening even if Smith falls to us think we go D.

LMAO oh so you have to take sacks because you are too stupid to throw the ball away? Nah lets hold that puppy, then force it for league leading picks(he led the league in BOTH categories) ONE is bad enough

Ummmmm you have to be able to get out of the pocket to throw the ball away... I mean even Hurts was getting sacked at an alarming rate.

I think so too. We invested in 2 FA S's. maybe they are placeholders,or maybe we re-sign them. IDK this team is a mess,er have little in the way of sold units on either side of the ball

COOL if they are going to get sacked at an alarming rate I would rather pay rook salary than 34 million a year for the same results. Also you are comparing a relative rook to a 5 year vet(thus Wentz is gone)

Years in the league doesn’t matter if you can’t get out the pocket you can’t throw the ball away.

SO re Wentz, you can lead the league in picks, but at least your not taking sacks OR you can take the sacks and NOT lead the league in picks. It takes real talent to capture both those "trophys"

I can throw the ball away in 1 second. I wont hit anything but its out lol. BTW Diggs would have solved that whole problem

I think the Eagles were a dumpster fire around Wentz...the likes we have never witnessed before.  Injuries, inexperienced players,  a total mess.    You put a stabilizing weapon like Diggs in there where everyone else falls down a peg.  It absolutely changes things...for EVERY PLAYER and even the play calling.  Do I think they win anything more than possibly the brutal division...no,but all this " worst QB crap" doesn't happen.  And knowing you have a Diggs to work with going forward, is something to build on.   Right now it's not a place for a vet QB.  If the idea is trade all 3 firsts for one next year,  I doubt that vet would want to come here, especially knowing you need to give up the draft picks that would help him.

And we need to see the results this year. It's unknown yet, but I think we will find the idea of Wentz being afraid of Hurts very hilarious.  It does take away the narrative that players are losing faith in Howie and Lurie though.   The best PR in the world, down at Novacare.

But a guy getting open ....doesn't effect sacks or picks?

Thats what we got Djax and Alshon for,the STABLE weapons that never showed up

he wasn't hitting guys when they WERE open

And what does throwing the ball away do to effect the team last year. Both QBs needed hero ball.  The only time it was really bad was vs Dallas, but we won that game anyway.

Not pe se,but it' sometimes makes you want to try too hard, which I saw Wentz do. His fear of making mistakes caused him to make more mistakes, now that pressure is off in Indy
