You are 100% on this?

I say they go 4 and 5.

It certainly is going to be interesting watching those first 5 picks and knowing who we could have had if we stayed put.  I may need an extra Tullamore Dew to kick off the night!  :excited:

Idk... like for me, the NBA draft is more about the one player.    With the NFL draft it's more hitting on as many picks.

Like I've said before...I get that Wentz was only pro bowler drafted in last 5 drafts.   When Ertz leaves,  it will leave Lane as only one...since the first selection of 2013.

But to me the bigger issue is the overall amount of misses.   Between the first pick of 2013...and the first selection of 2018...( Lane and Goedert)  only Seumalo and Barnett are here.   Idk how many draft picks that is... but it's not good. Certainly more of an issue than one skill position guy.  Obviously one guy helps,  but not enough to bring us into contention.

Ultimately this draft is going to be judged in 3 or 4 years by how many guys stick around and contribute.

Yes, we absolutely need to hit on a fair number of draft picks over the next 2-3 years (for starters) if we want any hope of seeing another championship in the near future.  Won't count the 2020 draft ... TBD.  2019 is likely too early too but for the heck of it, Sanders is the only hit (Dillard TBD since he missed all of 2020).  So that's 1 of 4.  2018 was pretty good considering we traded out of 1st and only had 5 picks in total - hit on Goedert.  Sweat, Maddox, and Mailata all have achieved some level of success.  Even the 6th rd pick Pryor has contributed.  8 picks in 2017 only 1 hit Barnett and even then you'd expect more from someone taken top half of rd 1.  2016 hit on half, Wentz, Seumalo, Vaitai, Mills.  Too bad the most important one is no longer here considering how much we gave up to get him.  Hit on 2 of 6 in 2015: Agholor and Hicks.  Again though, neither played their way past a rookie deal.  Hit on 2/7 in 2014 (Matthews and Allen).  Not going back any further, getting depressed!  lol

We found Nate Herbig and TJ Edwards lol guess they weren’t draft picks but UDFA but make it seem tad better

2017 is a shame both the CBS we took finding success elsewhere Douglas was playing well in Carolina and Sidney Jones had some success with the Jags

I’m seeing an OLB in a 3-4. Think he’s rated too highly though. Watch Ojulari and see the difference. Ojulari looks like he could get nasty at DE.

LOL he was a LB and only last year moved to edge, he has alot to learn there yet but MAN the verstalility is astounding. Since we have Barnett, I would take this guy and let him learn more about edge rushing techniques, meantime he can play LB, sub in on edge to get some snap time in. I just think his ceiling is really high. It's like a 2 for 1 pick

OT- went grocery shopping.Get ready, the packages an shrinking yet again(just this week) "family size" chips now down to 9.5 ounces(must be  small family) used to be 16,then 12 now this. Sugar went from 5 lbs to 4, now 3.5. They claim no inflation, true, except for the same price I ain't gettin jack. Even the selection of items was crap

Well it's only year 2 for Reagor. I think Ped was too easy on them and I hope Siri lights these guys jocks on fire

Actually we do really well finding UDFA talent. I'm wondering if that person is separate from the draft process. If he is,we need that guy IN the war room

Every year I take a stab at my UDFA RB pick-up (I'm still taking Patterson at 123, but I would snag this guy as a UDFA in a second

But this to me is an excuse for the whole big picture operation because we focus on one thing.  It's great the CBs had success or to whatever level of success anyone wants to label it elsewhere.

It's great Andy Reid developed coaches who won SBs elsewhere.  It's great we are developing GMs that have success elsewhere.  It's great we drafted a franchise QB that Indy is getting at half price...etc.

It's great we do all these things, but it's at the benefit of other organizations.   In contrast, look at the Patriots.  How many failure coaches and besides Tom Brady, Gronk who's team had to buy a bunch of other guys and were fortunate to have the last 2 opposing OLs injured...   they have had all the success to themselves.

So... we don't draft that bad.  We don't do that bad in FA... we develop coaches and GMs.  We just don't see the success here.

So let's develop this young coaching staff, draft the right players..  and keep them here to win ...HERE!   Will be a nice change.

BG, was out getting eggs for the kids...  Ike Reese going over mock draft.  Parsons at 12 and Batemen at 37.   2 of your guys!

He wasn't happy simply due to the fact he wants CB addressed early.

But do we really do well.. or is it just a numbers game?    How many UDFAs actually come through at one point or another?    We focus on the ones that stick, obviously.. but how do we do compared to other organizations?   Idk, and do our guys seem to make the roster because our draft picks don't?  I dont think it's cut and dry.

Look at our draft coming up... how many picks rounds 5-7.. and then how many UDFAs brought in?   Compared to 4 picks in the first 2 days.  Odds are we find more guys who stick, after day 2 is complete.  Just by the difference in numbers.

I just want talent Parsons to me is the best D player in the draft would be great value at 12... Bateman would be a steal in round 2 but could see CB as well.

I’d love for this to happen my question why can’t we maximize our players???   Bring up NE they don’t usually pay top end talent never have they maximize guys they taken older vets,  or guys coming off down years cheap and put them in positions to succeed. Isn’t that the job of coaches our players in the best position to have success it always seems like we are trying to force guys into schemes

Well they are camp prospects's at that point, doesn't mean they can't end up being at least decent BU's. Clement and Adams did ok(for awhile) Quez was a UDFA if I recall. Some guys that would be drafted in 6 will fall into UDFA. It's a decent enough way to stash your PS(cause lord knows we had to use PS WR"s lol)

NO, it's because the "odds" are better with the higher picks. Those "odds of success" drop incrementally every round (in theory). Occasionally you will find a DITR that slips through the cracks. Or you can scan for other teams PS releases because they may fit what you're doing better than the team that took them

My last 2 selections(Johnson-DL and Ball(OT) could easily be UDFA's,who knows?. Lots of smaller school guys who fall into UDFA simply because they were not challenged at a higher talent level. Guys that have a talent, but lack the coaching staff they have at the NFL level. Like check out Zac Thomas(QB)p Appalachian state. Not exactly a powerhouse in the college football world, but there's a UDFA I would snag as a #3(and Brady White from Memphis) Out of those 2 I believe one will be much better than Duds and could rise to a #2 QB. Of course no guarantees, but I spent nothing to get them. Nice little running back UDFA also in Elijah Mitchell. He may get drafted late, maybe not. I was going to put him as my UDFA RB choice for this year, but I think he will be drafted(late). If not I'll take him lol

Seems like this is going along the early statements here. Looks like we are developing a bunch of young coaches for the rest of the league.
