We used to do a contest on the EMB years ago  DDD used to run it. We all would pick 10 players we thought the Eagles would draft and the one who got the most right wins! I am not on here near enough to run it so was wondering if anyone wanted to take it on.  I miss DDD.....

The "Eagles Master of the Draft" contest"?  OCEaglefan has been running it the past couple of years.  Probably a safe bet he'll do so again this year.

With the Darnold trade, that takes Carolina out of the QB derby. Wondering now if we try moving back up to 8.If ATL passes on Pitts,we may do that since it would be a 5 year(or more) tragedy if Pitts went to Dullaz

If I was in charge in ATL, my pick would be Pitts.  I can easily see Cincy going Chase with Burrow there.     

Regardless,  this idea that these two are guaranteed hall of famers and anyone other than them are not or a big drop-off.    Or the Eagles would have selected these guys at 6.   I don't see it.  I never saw us actually picking at 6, unless it was a QB, OT or DL.   Seems like this year is not the year for them to go OT, not the year where there is a DL worth taking that high, and wasn't the right spot for the QB they wanted.   

The trade down to me seems to allow them to pick their DL or justify in their minds going elsewhere.

So this is just out of curiosity I guess and we will never know for sure but we were supposedly trying to get the 3rd pick from Miami competing with SF... odds are these teams already knew what was likely to happen with the top 2 picks... So we’re we competing with SF for Mac??? 

Have to wonder now if Philly would consider a Lance at 12 if he falls which seems highly likely as it stands now??? How high was he on our pecking order??? I’m not personally a fan of settling on a QB think you should have your guy and secure him but can’t rule it out either still.

 That is my guess. Unless they feel Wilson will be there.....  Not sure who NY is picking are we?

   Who Knows? Maybe the Eagles feel Fields is a potential Elite QB. If so and he is available, that may be the pick at 12... I cannot believe they feel this way about Lance.....

  It also poses the possibility that either Washington or NE offers them an additional 2nd round pick to switch spots....

I think more so the Eagles helped facilitate the trade.... the value of pick 6 is with a team trying to trade up for a QB.   By jumping in the trade, their selling point was to Miami that they wouldn't have to fall back that far... still get either top OT, WR or TE... and the picks.   But the Eagles jump in to get a #1 pick out of it too.   

If Miami wasn't going to take a QB and wanted to trade back,, the drop to 6 was the least drop they would get... you would think ATL and Cincy weren't going to trade up.  If they went back to 8, 9 or 12... they might lose their target(s).    Only dropping to 6 to get instant satisfaction of a top offensive player and still the draft hall from SF ... thats a win win win for them.

Maybe they don't trade with SF if the Eagles don't get involved?   This way,  all 3 teams get what they want.

I hope they don’t feel this way about any QB especially if rumors are true we tried and failed to trade up for our guy at #3. I’m pretty big on getting your guy if you are going for QB drafting a QB now to me would be settling for a guy maybe your not fully sold on

The only thing with Lance is the school connection and with howies ego it’s possible he isn’t even on our list... But just looking at Lance as a QB he has all the traits you would want is only 20 so should have a ton of room to grow

That seems logical.  I was just responding to the hypothetical that both would be gone before 6.  I’m not dwelling on the trade down ... what’s done is done.  Not just hoping we make the most out of the situation with the picks we have including the extra 1st next year.

Think ton will depend on ATL and what they do... If they can get a trade then yup Pitts will be there at 6 most likely if not, not hard to see ATL taking Pitts at 4 increase an already potent aerial attack

Too coincidence for me that these trades were announced that close.  You don't see 3 way trades in the NFL...  but this sure felt like one.  How much time to where the Eagles knew Miami had pick 12?    If someone went to the bathroom as the first trade was made and actually washed their hands after...the 2nd trade was already made as they reached for the soap.   

Too much coincidence that every team seemed to get what seems best in that trade.

I do agree that taking OL or DL at 6 would be over drafting (unless Sewell but they just invested a 1st rd pick on a LT 2 years ago who missed all of 2020 so basically still an unknown).  Have to see what we have in him first before spending more high draft capital on the same position.

In the opinion of a fan that wants a trade back lol.... In all seriousness though Eagles/SF talking to Miami for 3 both want it... Miami tells Philly this is the offer Philly doesn’t match. They know instantly that SF got the trade. Your Philly now didn’t get the trade up for your QB what’s your play moving down of course so why not talk to the team you already been talking to that has extra picks.

Think Philly tried and failed to move up to 3 and then opted to move back
