Also resigning Jordon Howard don’t think Howard just completely forgot how to play just not used properly he could be our bigger RB if healthy

Well he's cheap and he knows the team, so it's not terrible news. I just hope we draft a young guy to replace the other losers we keep carrying on this lame roster. I suppose it's my fault cause I keep thinking he is older than he is. Maybe he will be ok this year IDK. last year was so hard to judge anyone by cause we sucked everywhere

Avery is interesting as a Lb think he could make a really good rush Lb

SO it appears(once again) LB is the back burner play >this surprises noone

No, not terrible with Howard.  Just that I'm completely on board with the youth injection.

I hope we add one(or 2 even). That pretty much shoots down my thought they take Etienne at 37 . So now I will go back and redo my mock with jaret patterson who I had on there for a long time

Well we got youth, but they dont pan out ,yet we hang on for dear life. WHY is Holyfield still on our roster? If he can't play boot him!!! Same with Huntley

https://withthefirstpick.com/2021/01/05/jaret-patterson-scouting-report-spooner/  OK so it's the MAC. Not exactly a haven of talent. Still if he only got 1/2 the stats he did in the MAC,he is a worthwhile prospect IMO .Finding it very hard to know where he would go. 5th round to UDFA,but id' like to add him here

They're probably waiting to see how draft falls.

?   Nothing to do with favorites.  But for example,  we saw Fulgham run routes and make catches for a few weeks with Wentz..  Hurts goes in and his targets disappear.   Similar to all the others as they had limited targets with Hurts running a lot.   If the QB takes off all the time, doesn't really do much for WR evaluation and development.    It may end up being we move on from Hurts and still need to really evaluate the WRs with the next guy.  Idk,  we shall see.

I think Wentz was at fault some for the non development of our receivers.

I don't think the Wilson signing will have any impact on the draft. Taylor is the only player we have any real draft capital invested in, so the rest of the guys are expendable. I still expect us to grab someone in the first three rounds. Wilson gives us someone with scheme familiarity, and he should be okay next to Singleton, but he's a backup-level player.

That is my guess. Unless they feel Wilson will be there.....  Not sure who NY is picking are we?

It was said we were only willing to trade AFTER Wilson fell to three.

Been professing this method of drafting for a lot longer than Broz! Weighting need with BPA, take it a step further by weighing those picks against players in other rds - it's how to set a board. He's got the blog, he can take the credit.

Yes, seems like we’ve been arguing this for decades

Howard is only 26 not an old guy

He was signed cheap and if he can be remotely like his 18-19 self huge for us... Can always add another RB in the draft later as well... Plus biggest thing Howard can bring is pass protection even if we add another RB in the draft it’s an area lots of rbs struggle with early on

I don't see them drafting Pitts. They have Jones for two more years, Ridley, Gage and Hurst. Out of that group, who do you want to put on the bench for Pitts? As far as a QB, you are sitting a guy for two years because Ryan's reworked contract pretty much ensures he is your qb for that time span. Imagine a scenario where everything falls your way, the rest of the conference stinks, you have no serious injuries and all of your young players do really well, and you get to the NFC championship game and lose. Now you have to wonder if spending the pick on a backup qb instead of a top position player was the right move, i.e. the 2020 Packers.

Gage can go on the bench.  But if they avoid a draft pick because of a guy like Gage... they will be picking around 4 again pretty often.

But everything didn't go the Packers way as the key injury to their stud LT pretty much changed the game vs Tampa.

I like both signings. Howard's not an every down back - he's a role player, cheap and fills a need. We'll get others in later rds and udfa. When you're rebuilding you can't get high rd picks at every position and when your broke you can't afford top guys - those are luxuries. Howard fills a need.

Like it or not Wilson's prolly our best LB? Said earlier also moving Avery there. Do believe this moves LB out of the top rds. Back to my earlier thoughts we go CB - WR or vice versa unless someone drops will be a pick time decision.

So you would fix the working part of the team (the offense) and just hope the broken part of the team (the defense) works things out on their own. We saw the Cowboys do that exact same thing last year. How did that work for them?

It's one pick.  If you subscribe to the idea that the first pick " fixes" anything, so you pass on a player ( due to Hurst and Gage)  you are in trouble as an organization.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/jim-schwartz-former-eagles-dc-joining-titans-coaching-staff   4 month retirement. LMAO. He just wanted out. Why not just say it??? Sick of people making BS excuses, just SAY WHAT YOU MEAN

?   You can read between the lines, no need for people to not be classy and trash the organization that paid them and had the experience of winning a SB.  I think All 4 guys.... Duce,  Wentz, Doug and Schwartz handled things fine.   Never was impressed by people who feel the need to talk trash on the way out, just a bad look.

When you burn bridges on your way out, you close some ahead
