?   You can read between the lines, no need for people to not be classy and trash the organization that paid them and had the experience of winning a SB.  I think All 4 guys.... Duce,  Wentz, Doug and Schwartz handled things fine.   Never was impressed by people who feel the need to talk trash on the way out, just a bad look.

You do have a point there. It also doesn't look good on you by the new employer.

I think Wentz was at fault some for the non development of our receivers.

Yeah... I'll disagree there..  mainly due to looking at the last 4 games where the WRs were basically useless.  Fulgham was our best WR over the last 2 years.   He played with Wentz.  Very hard for me to blame a QB who had a group of practice squad guys and threw 4000 without one of them over 500 .  I think a big issue was Doug and his route tree, very bland and the curved routes vs the sharp angles.

But these guys are young and should get coached better.  I am willing to give more than a year, especially since the first year will be with the running QB type.  Like I said, you can look at Brown as an example of an unknown , he can run fast and does great on broken plays but what else?

Howard is only 26 not an old guy

How old is Zeke?

How many carries does Zeke have lmao 300+ since college

You're comparing Howard and Zeke? League min vs highest salary? Sounds about right, lol!

Howard did pretty well in 2019, coming off injury last yr

Compare the OL's as well.

Gage can go on the bench.  But if they avoid a draft pick because of a guy like Gage... they will be picking around 4 again pretty often.

The reason they are picking fourth is because they had a terrible defense. Not fixing the problems they have is how they will end up picking fourth again. And it's why they are actively looking to trade back.

Adam Schefter on Twitter: "With teams locked into the first three overall picks, the Atlanta Falcons now have received trade calls from multiple teams and "are open to moving” out of the No. 4 spot, per source." / Twitter

I read an article that said the Eagles, in the last decade, had used the 4th most draft capital in the NFL on WRs

And we're STILL looking for one

Plus biggest thing Howard can bring is pass protection even if we add another RB in the draft it’s an area lots of rbs struggle with early on

OK, I can buy this point. THX for pointing that out

In Scwartz's case he could have just said "we mutually agreed that my contract would not be renewed". Now, you have told the truth and trashed noone. The "I'm retiring" is a load of hooey and you know it

Of course. Everything is for sale. If your car is worth 20k and I offered you 21k, you may say "Nah it's not for sale" ,but I bet it's in my driveway if I offer you 100k,so of course they are "open" to moving. Just noone has hit the price barrier yet and once again if they take Pitts at 4, you are assuming there is ZERO help on defense after round 1???? Why not get a once in a decade player at his position and fix your defense in the subsequent rounds?(You know like we were planning to do at pick 6 with Pitts)

Sadly, I think head case Agholor was our best WR pick LOL(that's a pretty low bar there). Out of 5, had 1 decent year

You know what's even more sad for me? The "dream" goal I have of ONE 600+ yard receiver LOL. NONE were over 500 last year(that's about as dismal as it gets)

Eric Wilson think he is going to flourish for us I think he is already the best LB on our team which doesn’t say much but still... 122 tackles 3 ints and 3 sacks pretty well balanced guy knows what Gannon and Lb coach wants and only 26

He was signed cheap and if he can be remotely like his 18-19 self huge for us... Can always add another RB in the draft later as well... Plus biggest thing Howard can bring is pass protection even if we add another RB in the draft it’s an area lots of rbs struggle with early on

Valid point man. I forgot to consider his blocking ability. Not that it means a whole lot, but he has 9 lbs. on Zeke.

If this became reality is he good enough where they could spend one of the reserved WR picks on another position?

Mainly a slot guy but a speedy one. IDK if they ever played him out. But he's probably better than the slot guys we have. Maybe no "star" but the idea is to improve at every position you can, so depending on what the deal is, he could be worthwhile. Last year of his rook contract I believe, so if he worked out we could sign him for a decent duration after this season. IF,IF he worked out I'm sure we already have his BU here, so maybe one box you could check off as "fixed for now"

Yes, you are correct. Last year of rook contract.

?  300?    You mean seasons with 300 carries?   3 out of 5.  With Pollard last year he was down to 240, which is probably the path going forward,  especially with their WRs and looking to pass more now.

If he was an Eagle, the spin would be a 25 year old physical stud with a nice career still ahead.

Just need to compare the age of 2 humans... as one guy said Zeke was old but Howard isn't.   Just pointing out Zeke is 8 months younger.  Nothing else

Shocker...  they received calls and are open to a trade.   No kidding.   Which team is never open to a trade?   Again. One pick doesn't fix anything....very easily they could take Pitts and all defense afterward.    I agree they " could trade back "  I agree they should look into it.  Do I think they make the trade... idk. It takes two to do so.  If not, I doubt they go defense at 4.

He didn't say he was retiring ... he was stepping away from the Eagles and contemplating his future.     We don't even know how active he was or if Tennessee really went after him.

Is he a coordinator or just a senior advisor/ assistant?    A lot goes into it.  He was stepping down from the Eagles DC job, was basically the only thing he knew for sure.

Idk, the GM for the 76ers said he was taking time off after he left Houston.  Apparently the 76ers recruited him hard to come here.   Things change.

Nobody mentioned Schwartz also has health probs he needed to take care of. He's also an advisor, not a coach - he's just charging for his advice.

The more I think about it, The more I feel the Eagles are going to try and trade down. I do not think they are targeting a WR at 12. We have drafted so many WR's these past years that I feel either they have specific players they are targeting and draft them if they are there or they trade back and pick up an additional 2nd round pick. I think they want Surtain, Horn or a Top LB/DL player. If those are not there they trade back. I do not feel they are targeting a WR. If they were they probably would have sat at 6 and took either Chase or Pitts. With their drafting history at WR, they would need to be sure they nailed that pick. Trading back would not do that....

I don't think the Wilson signing will have any impact on the draft. Taylor is the only player we have any real draft capital invested in, so the rest of the guys are expendable. I still expect us to grab someone in the first three rounds. Wilson gives us someone with scheme familiarity, and he should be okay next to Singleton, but he's a backup-level player.

I disagree. I think this sealed the fate of any chance we take a LB on the first two days. We have a full Lb room now.
