IDK he's now a "budding star"? SMH OK

I liked Huntley explosiveness that I seen last year wish we would have given him more reps to see more in a lost season but ohhhh well.

Honestly I’d just be happy if he could take over the return game if he becomes more then that it’s just a plus

Look, we all know what is going to happen. Surtain and Horn are gone before we pick. We try and trade back but no takers. So Howie, in his infinite wisdom, drafts Farley. He tells everyone that Farley was on his radar from the start and how fortunate they were that he fell to them!  Then, pre season comes around and Farley gets injured and put on IR.

It does not take a rocket Scientist to figure this out. HR stinks at the draft and I see no light AT the end of the tunnel.....

Farley is a sick talented player. Big long and fast. Pretty much liked him right with Surtain. I don’t think he’s be a bad pick at all.

Oh I think you could easily make the case that we could be losing Brandon Graham away from being pretty bad at DE.   But I think you could make the better case of looking back at Eagles draft history over the last 25 years and predict its where they go ... simply because they have passed up better prospects before to take the pass rusher.  Graham being the prime example himself.  We had a huge need at S.  The future all pro was there... we traded up for Graham.

The Eagles are positioned right there again, only difference is they could pick this guy at 12 or do it after trading back a little.   It seems like there is a decent group of CBs that could be there at 37.  We also know Howie will trade more than one of those round 5 to 7 picks at some point.   It adds up to the CB being the choice with the 2nd pick.

How often have we seen ...  1st round lineman.  2nd round DB.    If any team has become predictable in the draft,  it should be the Eagles by now.

The DL pick also fits in getting the most people angry.  I can see it annoying the WR people, the CB people and also the Parsons people... all in one move.

It's like clockwork.   Except without "snowleopard" and his annual appearance to complain on draft night.

This is very true. The Two Georgia corners seem to be fitting right in around the beginning of round two. The Michigan Edge rusher has been touted all along. Don’t think he’s the stud. Think Olujari is the guy that’s been climbing Big Boards the whole time. He has some special traits that could translate into an amazing rushing DE in our presumed defense. At least what I presume. Take that guess for what it’s worth. Miami has two big time pass rushers. Rousseau is that Freak. Will it materialize in the NFL? Hard to really say. He has the measurable for sure. His teammate had injuries and has been questioned for his commitment to football. Tough stuff for a 12 pick. Christian Barmore makes a ton of sense. Get us the top DT in the class. Let him be groomed under the best in Fletch. Has to beat out Ridgeway to get on the field. Which he will very quickly. DT are so hard to judge. NFL guys are so big and fast. He’s a great run stoppper that has the tools to get up field and close the deal. I can’t complain if he’s the choice. I’d like to slide back a few picks to take him though. But I’m always greedy like that.

Top DT in round one. Corner round two. Makes plenty of sense and seems ....shall I say...probable

But I could also say. Our Dline got big time pressure last season. Strength of the team. So not a need. We could get the secondary fixed and see what they can do back there behind a solid pass rush. Got many options at LB. Supposedly our DC forte

Oh I'm all for giving him a chance,I just think the hype in the article goes a bit far 🤣

Jones wasn't a bad pick either lol. Back problems and CB's don't get along well

The one thing about switching to a cover two zone scheme is that you don't really need super talented corners. You need long corners who can tackle, and we have that already in Michael Jacquet, and we can find someone like Melifonwu in round 3 who also fits. But you do need safeties who can cover a lot of ground and who can diagnose plays quickly.

My guess is that Slay eventually moves to safety to fill one of those spots, as he is an ideal fit at FS. And then, hopefully, either Epps fills the SS role or we hit on a draft pick.

We also need a solid Mike LB, someone like Zaven Collins, Jamin Davis or Dylan Moses (if he recovers from his knee injury.) Singleton is likely our Mike right now, but he doesn't really fit. Ideally, Taylor is ready to play the coverage LB spot next year. If not they can just bring back Wilson or slide Singleton over. (On a side note, signing Wilson takes a bunch of LBs off our board, namely Baron Browning, who struggled at Mike when he played there.)

It will be interesting to see how we deal with the change in scheme. A cover two defense relies a lot on the middle players (LBs and safeties) to make plays, and less on the corners. So we are going against our basic drafting philosophy.

Which DT are you getting at 12(or 15 for that matter) without reaching?

Tyson Campbell in 3 works for me, Bolton in 2?

Yeah....but I wasn’t real into Jones. Don’t really know anything about Farley’s back. Jones you knew was out for a year. I haven’t heard anything about Farley not being able to go. Was called very minor. Of coarse right before the draft my agent better call anything very minor. Farley is actually fast than Jones. He’s longer and talked also. He’s light on experience....so he needs excellent coaching. Probably going to take some lumps getting there. I’m fine with all that. Really an ideal corner from so many measurables.

Not at 12 IMO. I'll take Togai with the 84 pick

I love how everybody always has underestimated Singleton. As soon as he played in the preseason for us ....I could tell he deserved to be out there. We have Edwards who should be very good in this system. Great at playing downhill. Bradley is a decent backup that can play downhill. Avery is a potential rush backer. Got the new guy in for his coverage ability. All that with having a super athletic project player we got in the third round in Taylor. Seems like you have that room pretty filled.

Bolton is a little undersized. If I had my choice, I would take the other ones since they have more length. But he is better than what we have.

Where does the top DT rank overall? Can’t be too much behind twelve. I would like to trade back to around twenty and get him. The guy really was a monster in the SEC and all those huge games.

If it's round 2, and he falls enough I would have to consider a move up for Newsome. He's kind of a "tweener where we are picking. Jabril Cox in 3? I also would like to have Browning

Think you overvaluing our average LBs lol... Our best Lb is the newly acquired Wilson and he is a cover guy meh against the run.

Singleton is a classic overachiever decent starter but not some world beater or game changer but can be a 3 down Lb already 27-28 though.
Edwards is a 2 down LB good vs the run liability in coverage.

Taylor is unknown would seem to fit with what Gannon wants

Depends whos rank list you believe. The "consensus" board(300 top boards) show him as the #1 DT at 26. Higher and lower depending on the BB, but thats the composite average

I would take Paye over Barmore JMO

Our DL was alrighty at year 49 total sacks of those 49 sacks 8.5 sacks came from Lbs and DBs. 40.5 sacks remaining 7 sacks came from 2 players not on team and Avery who is now a Lb.

33.5 sacks were credited to our remaining DL two of which are older now in Cox/Graham who had 14.5 of those. How much longer can we keep relying on those two???

Barnett has been a massive disappointment as a full time starter only getting 5.5.

Only promising guys we might have are Sweat who had 6 sacks and Hargrove who posted 4.5 sacks transitioning to a 43 with no offseason and missing them from injury.

All in all not a huge fan of this DL class I’d take a flier on one of the Pitt DEs should give a good rotation piece at the least.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2021/jabril-cox  Pretty nice stats, even changing teams he acclimated quickly. I like those type traits

The only problem with Cox is that he played the coverage LB spot, and not the Mike. Browning, for example, really struggled at the Mike, so while Cox may be fine there, it's a guessing game if he could do it.

I would take a chance on Dylan Moses in the third. He is a pure Mike, and if he stays healthy, is a potential pro bowl player. His injury history is a concern, but I think he is worth a roll of the dice.

The issue is that all of the top Mike LB prospects - Davis, Bolton, Moses, Collins - have question marks. So regardless of who you draft, it's a risk. But all have pretty high ceilings as well.

Regardless, we need a Mike LB. Singleton is a stopgap at the position. I don't see Edwards as being anything more than a backup, which is fine. He's the Nate Herbig of the defense. But they need to find a Brandon Brooks.
